A tanulmány egy ókori eredetű görög-latin szótár, az ún. Pseudo-Kyrillos egyik 15. századi példányát elemzi, melyet a cambridge-i University Library-ben őriznek Kk. v. 12 jelzettel. A cikk szövegkritikai eszközökkel igyekszik elhelyezni a befejezetlenül maradt példányt a szöveghagyományban, és feltárni a szótár keletkezésének körülményeit, időpontját és helyét

Benedictus és szótára

A XV. század közepe táján a kereszténység előtti kultúrák iránti érdeklődés megnövekedésével egyidejűleg emelkedni kezdett a görögül tanulni vágyók száma is Európa latin nyelvű felében. Ezzel párhuzamosan megnőtt az igény a különféle nyelvtanulási segédletek, így a görög–latin szótárak iránt is. Kétnyelvű szótárra többféleképpen lehetett ekkoriban szert tenni, az egyik lehetőséget egy ókori bilinguis szótár, az ún. Pseudo-Kyrillos jelentette. A Pseudo-Kyrillos a magyar kutatás érdeklődését is felkeltette az utóbbi évtizedekben, főként azért, mert egyik példányát Janus Pannonius is beszerezte magának. Az alábbi tanulmány nem ezzel a példánnyal kíván foglalkozni, hanem egy másikkal, amelyet egy bizonyos Benedictus másolt. A szerző arra tesz kísérletet, hogy azonosítsa az illető személyét, nyomon kövesse a példány keletkezésének történetét, valamint feltérképezze a Pseudo-Kyrillos szöveghagyományozódásának egyik ágát. | Around the middle of the 15th century attempts to revive Hellenic studies entered a new phase, when the need of a usable Greek-Latin dictionary was felt throughout both academic and educational circles. There were several options to meet this demand, one being to make a copy of the only extant Greek-Latin alphabetical dictionary surviving antiquity, falsely attributed to Cyril. Pseudo-Cyril’s dictionary and its 15th century textual tradition sparked some interest among Hungarian scholars as well recently, mainly because one of the Renaissance apographs was possessed by Janus Pannonius. This paper concentrates not on this particular copy, but on another one, which was transcribed by a certain Benedictus. The aim of this study is to identify this unknown scribe’s person, to define the place his dictionary may occupy within the manuscript tradition, and, finally, to explore the context of its origin

Az Imitatio Christi egy ismeretlen fordítás-töredéke

Im Aufsatz wird eine bislang unbekannte ungarische Übersetzung der Imitatio Christi ausgelegt. Das Manuskript stammt aus dem Bestand des Reformiertenkollegs and wird jetzt in der Klausenburger Bibliothek der Rumnischen Akademie der Wissenschaften aufbewahrt (MsR 1398). Weder Übersetzer noch Korrektor noch Kopist des etwa urn die Mitte des 18. Jahrhunderts entstandenen Manuskripts sind bekannt. Im Aufsatz wird daher die Aufinerksamkeit auf die Qualitt sowie auf den Vergleich des lateinischen mit dem ungarischen Text fokussiert. Aus der Untersuchung geht hervor, dass der Übersetzer des Lateinischen nicht voll machtig war, wahrend der Korrektor an zahlreichen Stellen adequate and richtige Korrekturvorschldge machte. Auch ist es offensichtlich, dass der — vermutlich weltliche — Übersetzer es mit der Terminologie des monastischen Lebens schwer hatte and gewillt war, den Text den Erwartungen des weltlichen Lesers anzupassen

Bonfini Héródianosz-fordításáról

Before entering Matthias’ service, Antonio Bonfini dedicated to the king, among his other literary products, his freshly made translation of Herodian as well. The manuscript presented, which was partly copied by the author himself, is now kept in Salzburg (UB M II. 135). The text, however, is preserved in another copy (Vat. Ross. 483), neglected by most specialists of the field. This paper has a threefold aim. First, it examines the textual relationship of the two versions. Second, it analyizes the value of Bonfini’s – now lost – Greek original, as it can be extrapolated on the basis of the Latin translation, in constituting Herodian’s text, whether it contained readings not preserved in other manuscripts. Third, it compares Bonfini’s translation to that of Poliziano, which was made roughly at the same time or slightly later, but independently of his much less known colleague’s version
