Методика навчання ділового листування англійською мовою студентів вищих навчальних закладів

Рассматривается построение целостной системы упражнений для обучения деловой переписке на английском языке студентов высших учебных заведений. Упражнения, входящие в систему, направлены на развитие умений форматирования текстов деловых писем и умений высказывания в них мыслей и намерений пишущего в соответствии с нормами англоязычной деловой переписки.Розглядається побудова цілісної системи вправ для навчання ділового листування англійською мовою студентів вищих навчальних закладів. Вправи, що входять до системи, спрямовані на розвиток умінь форматування текстів ділових листів та вмінь висловлювати в них думки та наміри того, хто пише, відповідно до норм англійського ділового листування.The structuring of exercise system for teaching business correspondence in English to students of tertiary educational institutions is discussed. The exercises included in the system are aimed at developing skills of formatting the texts of business letters and skills of expressing ideas and intentions of the writer following the established norms of business correspondence in English

Le thème de la mort dans l’oeuvre de Rainer Maria Rilke

Rainer Maria Rilke est né à Prague en 1875. Toute son oeuvre poétique a été rédigée en allemand sauf quelques poèmes écrits en français. Il existe d'ailleurs des traductions française et anglaise de son oeuvre. Dans cet article, l'auteur étudie le thème de la mort dans l'oeuvre de ce poète. L'angoisse de la mort et la nécessité d'y répondre ont été dans l'oeuvre de Rilke une force d'inspiration. L'auteur présente trois aspects de ce thème : le concept de l'Ouvert (das Offene), la mort vue comme un acte personnel et la mort comme compagne de la vie.Rainer Maria Rilke was born in Prague in 1875. Most of his poetical work was written in German except for a few French poems. All of his work has been translated either in French or in English. In this article, the author studies the theme of death in Rilke's poetry. The anguish generated by death and the need to cope with the fear attached to it is an inspirational force in Rilke's work. The author présents three aspects of his theme : the concept of the " Open" (das Offene), death seen as a personal endeavour and death as the constant companion of life

Direct speech, subjectivity and speaker positioning in London English and Paris French

This paper examines functional similarities and differences in the use of pragmatic features – in particular quotatives and general extenders – on the right and left periphery of direct quotations. This comparative study, based on the analysis of a contemporary corpus of London English and Paris French (MLE – MPF) , finds that the form and frequency of these particles tend to vary not only with respect to social factors such as speakers’ age and gender, but also with respect to the different pragmatic functions they come to perform in different interactional settings. The contemporary data is analysed both qualitatively and quantitatively to show how different variants position the speaker in relation to: i) the content of the quote, ii) the interlocutors, iii) the presumed author of the quote. The paper aims to contribute to a better understanding of pragmatic universals and variability in the use of direct speech
