    Get PDF
The purpose of this thesis is to explore if acculturation in conjunction with belongingness, affected international student satisfaction. With the changes in immigration, the political climate as a whole and college campus demographics, it was important to evaluate what stress factors international students faced while being undergraduate students at a Midwestern University. In addition to using secondary research, primary research was conducted in the form of 4 interviews and 59 electronic surveys. The independent variables that were measured were reorganized into 2 categories: the students’ religious beliefs and the country where the student is from. Themes that came across throughout the results that were supported by the literature, were when international students were people of color and Christian, they had a more difficult time being satisfied at the institution. Themes of discrimination, classroom challenges and domestic students lacking empathy were also noted. It is hoped this study will inform international educators and university administrators about the difficulties international students face and how to better advice them to navigate the new culture around them

Consequences of this approach is 70 completed questionnaires which were completed by current and past exchange students at the Faculty of Economics. Students were asked to answer the questions about characteristics of three criteria like study conditions, staff performance and infrastructure of faculty. Extra question about gender, country of origin, period of study etc.., were aimed to get data about profile of international students. At the end students have answered two questions which were reflection of loyalty level of international students. In this investigation author applied to probability sampling method. Proper type of sampling was Stratified sampling. Gathered data were analyzed in IBM SPSS Statistics program. Preliminary analyses have shown some basic characteristics and profiles of respondents, on which then deeper analysis was made using several statistic techniques, such as compare means, frequency and correlation. Outputs were illustrated in tables and figures in order to visualize the results. Issues and successful characteristics have been listed in commentaries under illustrations. Author have offered some solutions for issues in the recommendation part of thesis. Some extra findings and questionnaire itself are in Appendix section.Goal of this dissertation is to measure the satisfaction and loyalty level of international students at the faculty of Economics within exchange programs. Support services at Spanish and U.S. institutions: A driver for international student satisfaction

Many institutions of higher education are promoting campus internationalization as a core principle through international student mobility and, as a result, have expanded rapidly in enrollment. To effectively serve this growing population, many campuses have had to strengthen their student support services. However, while many have welldeveloped programs for students in general, not all services are designed to specifically cover the needs of international students. The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview on research conducted on the topic of international student satisfaction with university support services as a means to ensure a positive student experience. It also provides a new research approach for comparing how support services for international students are structured at Spanish and U.S. institutions

While great attention has been given to the growth of international students at U.S. institutions, there is a gap in the literature examining support for this student population within residence halls. To address the gap, this quantitative study evaluated an international roommate-pairing program (IRP) by comparing the residential experience of IRP participants with a control group. The results showed the roommate-pairing program had a positive impact on the residential experience of international students. These findings suggest physical environment and structured support are critical factors in the satisfaction and success of international students. This research can inform the practice of Residence Life professionals and aid in the establishment of effective support programs
