    A Service-Oriented Architecture Adoption Maturity Matrix using Kano Model: Cross Evaluation between IT and Business Benefits

    The many promised benefits of SOA adoption have attracted numerous organizations to adopt SOA. These SOA adoption benefits have been identified by the previous researchers and can be distinguished into IT and business benefits. However, this study found that there is a lack of work that provide a method on how to construct the matrix for evaluating the SOA adoption focuses on both IT and business benefits. Therefore, this study aims to provide a method that can be used to construct a cross evaluation matrix focuses on SOA adoption IT and business benefits. This study first determines the IT and business benefits characteristics and sub-characteristics in order to provide the evaluation criteria for evaluating the SOA adoption. Then this study adapted Kano Model in order to construct the cross evaluation matrix between IT and business benefits. The findings implies that Kano Model is appropriate to be used as the underlying structure to construct the cross evaluation matrix in this study. Kano Model provides the approach on how to plot, organize and better represent the evaluation dimension for evaluating the SOA adoption

    En la actualidad la exigencia de los clientes no solo está enfocada en el producto y sus cualidades, sino en todas aquellas experiencias que los hagan sentirse identificados y les permitan crear un vínculo emocional con las marcas; es por ello, el marketing experiencial está siendo abordado con mayor prioridad por las organizaciones. El estudio buscó analizar, por medio de la revisión sistemática, los aportes o contribuciones que ha generado el marketing experiencial al brand equity en artículos registrados en la literatura en los años 2010 y 2021. La revisión sistemática fue realizada aplicando el método PRISMA iniciando con la búsqueda de artículos científicos en bases de datos como Scopus, Web of Science y Ebsco Host, seleccionando así, con los criterios del método, 59 artículos científicos que se analizaron mediante una matriz de registro. Los resultados muestran que son las sensaciones y los sentimientos los elementos que contribuyen con mayor prioridad a generar valor pwara los clientes creando un vínculo emocional con las marcas a la vez que las marcas ven incrementado su valor. Con ello, puede concluirse que existe una consistente relación entre el marketing experiencial en el brand equity, por lo que se facilita el conocimiento y crea una experiencia y una conexión emocional con los clientes es fundamental para aumentar el conocimiento de la marca, la calidad percibida y la lealtad a la marca

    Internet growth in the nineties supported government ambition to provide better services to citizens through the development of Information and Communication Technologies based solutions. Thanks to the Lisbon conference, which in 2000 covered and investigated this topic, e-government has been recognized as one of the major priorities in Public Administration innovation process. As a matter of\ud fact in the last 10 years the number of services provided to citizens through Information and Communication Technologies has increased rapidly. Nevertheless the increasing rate, the access and usage of digital services do not follow the same trend. Nowadays Public Administrations deliver many electronic services which\ud are seldom used by citizens. Different reasons contribute to the highlighted situation.\ud The main assumption of the thesis is that quality of e-government digital services strongly affects real access to services by citizens. According to the complexity of quality in e-government, one of the main challenges was to define a suitable quality model. To reach such aim, domain-dependent characteristics on the services delivery have been investigated. The defined model refers to citizen,\ud technology and service related quality characteristics. Correspondingly a suitable way to represent, assess, and continuously improve services quality according to\ud such domain requirements has been introduced.\ud Concerning the service related quality aspects a methodology and a tool permitting to formally and automatically assess the quality of a designed service with\ud respect to the quality model has been defined. Starting from an user friendly notation, both for service and quality requirements, the proposed methodology has\ud been implemented as an user friendly tool supported by a mapping from user friendly notations to formal language. The tool allows to verify formally via model checking, if the given service satisfies one by one the quality requirements addressed by the quality model.\ud Additionally in some case an unique view on e-government service quality is quite useful. A mathematical model provides a single value for quality starting from the assessment of all the requirements defined in the quality model. It relies on the following activities: homogeneity, interaction and grouping.\ud A set of experiments has been performed in order to validate the goodness of the work. Services already implemented in a local Public Administration has\ud been considered. Literature review and domain experts knowledge were the main drivers of this work. It proofs the goodness of the quality model, the application of formal techniques in the complex field of study such as e-government and the quality aggregation via the mathematical model.\ud This thesis introduces advance research in e-government by providing the contributions that quality oriented service delivery in Public Administration promotes services used by the citizens. Further applications of the proposed approaches could be investigated in the areas of practical benchmarking and Service Level Agreement specification

    The electric vehicle and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle play a fundamental role in the forthcoming new paradigms of mobility and energy models. The electrification of the transport sector would lead to advantages in terms of energy efficiency and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, but would also be a great opportunity for the introduction of renewable sources in the electricity sector. The chapters in this book show a diversity of current and new developments in the electrification of the transport sector seen from the electric vehicle point of view: first, the related technologies with design, control and supervision, second, the powertrain electric motor efficiency and reliability and, third, the deployment issues regarding renewable sources integration and charging facilities.     A Software Engineered Voice-Enabled Job Recruitment Portal System

    The inability of job seekers to get timely job information regarding the status of the application submitted via conventional job portal system which is usually dependent on accessibility to the Internet has made so many job applicants to lose their placements. Worse still, the epileptic services offered by Internet Service Providers and the poor infrastructures in most developing countries have greatly hindered the expected benefits from Internet usage. These have led to cases of online vacancies notifications unattended to simply because a job seeker is neither aware nor has access to the Internet. With an increasing patronage of mobile phones, a self-service job vacancy notification with audio functionality or an automated job vacancy notification to all qualified job seekers through mobile phones will simply provide a solution to these challenges. In this paper, we present a Voice-enabled Job Recruitment Portal (JRP) System. The system is accessed through two interfaces – the voice user’s interface (VUI) and web interface. The VUI was developed using VoiceXML and the web interface using PHP, and both interfaces integrated with Apache and MySQL as the middleware and back-end component respectively. The JRP proposed in this paper takes the hassle of job hunting from job seekers, provides job status information in real-time to the job seeker and offers other benefits such as, cost, effectiveness, speed, accuracy, ease of documentation, convenience and better logistics to the employer in seeking the right candidate for a job

    Exploring Fashion Industry Business Models and the Circular Economy

    This dissertation examines post-consumer textile waste from the fashion industry's perspective, and addresses how business model innovation can facilitate reuse and recycling of garments and a transition towards a circular economy of fashion. Focusing on the emerging reuse and recycling practices of fashion brands the study builds upon one explorative and two in-depth case studies of industry pioneers and their endeavors of integrating reuse and recycling activities in their business models. Theoretically the study rests on business models, business model innovation for sustainability and circular economy. The study seeks to provide a unique contribution as it synthesizes the theoretical and empirical insights from the field of business model innovation and circular economy in the context of post-consumer textile waste. By highlighting and extending the idea of business model innovation for circular economy it makes a justification that product end-of-life phases require attention and can include new value propositions that companies can create, deliver and capture. This dissertation contains three articles, each of which contributes to an improved understanding of post-consumer textile waste management in the context of the fashion industry and its related opportunities and challenges. The findings cover both broad industry-level and more specific company-level discoveries. The industry-level findings provide a general understanding of existing practices among fashion companies while the company specific findings identify key issues and challenges of integrating a product’s end-of-life aspects in an existing business model. Collectively, the findings demonstrate that end-of-life management of products is an emerging field among fashion companies and used garments can provide new value propositions for fashion brands. The findings also illustrate that the field is in its infancy and lacks best practices within business models, supply chain infrastructure, technological solutions and consumer engagement. Transition towards a circular economy implies full systemic change, and innovation not only in business models, but also in technologies, society, policies and finance methods as well as consumer behavior. None of these aspects can work in isolation and require that different stakeholders work in tandem
