This paper formulate an option model considers supplier's reaction as the profit sharing in module production, and analyses it by the agent theory. A dynamic environment in the model of the system of the production of modules of three layers is assumed, and the maker and the supplier are modeled by the technique of Genetic Programming (GP) as an agent who takes the action of selfoptimization. As result, the condition that the agent can exist continuously in the market is requested. In conclusion, violent competition and the selection of the similar agent are found even in the model of the option to consider the profit sharing and the reaction

Study on Buyback Contract in Supply Chain With a Loss-Averse Supplier and Multiple Loss-Averse Retailers Under Stockout Loss Situation

According to the prospect theory and the loss-aversion function, this paper developers the buyback contract model in a two-stage supply chain with a loss-averse supplier and multiple loss-averse retailers. Under the stockout loss setting, we analyze the effect of the loss aversion on the behavior from the retailers and the supplier, and then the buyback contract has been shown to be able to coordinate the supply chain. Furthermore, the number of retailers and loss aversion coefficient meet a certain range, there will be a unique optimal buyback price to achieve supply chain coordination

This study intends to provide researchers with metrics and trends in the area of Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM). This study analyzed 980 scientific articles with diverse methods, including counting of references, co-authorship, research share per country and visual representations of the partnerships between authors and most common words per country. The research used a set of tools, named MetrIA, to perform the processing of data. The results highlighted the cooperation between countries, and indicated what the institutions are engaging in research about the theme. Other indicators also point what are the most common themes being studied and how this interest changed over time

Effects of self-esteem on supply chain decisions

We study the effects of self-esteem on supply chain decisions and profits. To this end, the data obtained in computerized decision-making experiments in which human subjects participated as manufacturers (who offer a contract) and retailers (who either reject the contract, or accept and set the order quantity from the manufacturer) that engage in a long run relationship is used. Rosenberg scale survey data is used to categorize the manufacturers and retailers into high and low self-esteem classes. We find low selfesteem manufacturers to offer more attractive contracts to retailers, obtain lower profits themselves and cause higher supply chain total profit. Contrary to our expectations, we find high self-esteem retailers to end up accepting less favorable contracts compared to low self-esteem retailers, though the difference is not statistically significant. We explain this phenomena with the overordering tendency of the high self-esteem retailers: They overorder more frequently, and make larger overorders. We observe manufacturers to increase the attractiveness of their contract offer in the next period following a rejection. Finally, we develop a regression model to explain retailer order quantity decisions based on the retailer self-esteem score, lost demand in the previous period, number of contract rejections in the relationship, and the optimal order quantity. Our results indicate the importance of self-esteem as a significant factor in supply chain decisions and firms’ profit performance
