Comparison Among Original AHP, Ideal AHP and Moderate AHP Models

Decisions always involve getting the best solution, selecting the suitable experiments, most appropriate judgments, taking the quality results etc., using some techniques. Every decision making can be considered as the choice from the set of alternatives based on a set of criteria. The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is a multi-criteria decision making and is dealing with decision-making problems through pairwise comparisons. This paper is concerned with the moderate AHP decision model is always the same as the original AHP decision model. It does not violate the rule itself

An AHP-based Decision Support Model for Corporate Bond Selection and Investment Analysis

    Get PDF
This paper explores the use of an intuitive decision support model for evaluating and selecting corporate bonds. The model is based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), which enables an individual investor and a portfolio manager to identify the relative impacts of multiple criteria derived from the assessment of a particular investment environment. It also allows the pairwise comparisons of several corporate bond alternatives with respect to each of the pre-determined criteria. In particular, the evaluation process can capture individual investment behavior and perceptions on different decision criteria and corporate bond alternatives. Therefore, the model can be customized to facilitate corporate bond selection and fixed income investment analysis

    Construction materials supply logistics

of cost, quality and time. Customer service is the key element that holds together all supply logistics activities, thus, the effectiveness in selecting suppliers should begin with evaluating characteristics that are deemed necessary for a supplier to provide a pre-requisite level of customer service. Such factors, or enablers, provide indications as to whether a given supplier will be able to meet key materials delivery objectives. This paper provides a review of problems besetting the supply of construction materials as identified in current literature. Opportunities presented by the introduction of information and communication technologies for improving the materials management process have been examined. A logistics perspective of construction materials management has been adopted. The analytic hierarchy process has been presented as an appropriate methodology for assessing factors that enable achievement of efficient and cost-effective materials supply logistics to support construction

How to revitalise a historic district: A stakeholders-oriented assessment framework of adaptive reuse

    Get PDF
This research proposes an application of a MultiCriteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) in the adaptive reuse framework, which is able to structure the complex decision process required for the effective reuse of an historic district. Nowadays, many cities are facing an economic, financial, social and urban decline. This is particularly true when thinking about historic districts, which are usually characterized by high unique cultural values but, at the same time, show difficult characteristics in terms of comfort and security. Accordingly, the planning rules to be applied to the historic districts need to be re-written overcoming the traditional logics. The proposed adaptive reuse framework deals with the application of the Macbeth method. To properly test, develop and illustrate the framework we conducted an experimental validation through a case study: the urban regeneration of an historical district in Biella (Italy) starting from the adaptive reuse of an historic buildin

Model Proposal Towards Quantitative Evaluation of Customers’ Demands for Mortgage

People who want to become the owner of house but meet some financial difficulties, demand for credit from banks. Banks that make a decision about acceptance or rejection of these demands should consider all effective factors in credit evaluation process. In this study, a new proposal of model was improved to evaluate the customers which demand for mortgage. For this purpose, the points of weightiness on criteria which affect customers’ credit score, were firstly determined by using Analytic Hierarchy Process, and then the model was tested by calculating the credit score of customers with different characteristicCredit Evaluation Process, Credit Score, Mortgage, Analytic Hierarchy Process.

The Application of a Decision-making Approach Based on Fuzzy ANP and TOPSIS for Selecting a Strategic Supplier

Supplier selection becomes very important when used in the context of strategic partnerships because of the long-term orientation of the relationship. This paper describes the application of a decision-making approach for selecting a strategic partner (supplier). The approach starts with defining a set of criteria that fits the company's condition. In the next steps, a combination of fuzzy-ANP and TOPSIS methods is used to determine the weight for each criterion and rank all the alternatives. The application of the approach in an Indonesian manufacturing company showed that the three factors that got the highest weight were “geographical location”, “current operating performance”, and “reliability”. Geographical location got the highest weight because it affects many other factors such as reaction to changes in demand, after-sales service, and delivery lead-time. Application of the approach helps decision-makers to gain effectiveness and efficiency in the decision-making process because it facilitates them to express their group's collective preferences while also providing opportunities for members to express their individual preferences. Future research can be directed at combining qualitative and quantitative criteria to develop the best criteria and methods for the selection of the best suppliers based on fuzzy ANP and TOPSIS

Managing healthcare performance in analytical framework

    Get PDF
Purpose – The purpose of the paper is to develop an integrated framework for performance management of healthcare services. Design/methodology/approach – This study develops a performance management framework for healthcare services using a combined analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and logical framework (LOGFRAME). The framework is then applied to the intensive care units of three different hospitals in developing nations. Numerous focus group discussions were undertaken, involving experts from the specific area under investigation. Findings – The study reveals that a combination of outcome, structure and process-based critical success factors and a combined AHP and LOGFRAME-based performance management framework helps manage performance of healthcare services. Practical implications – The proposed framework could be practiced in hospital-based healthcare services. Originality/value – The conventional approaches to healthcare performance management are either outcome-based or process-based, which cannot reveal improvement measures appropriately in order to assure superior performance. Additionally, they lack planning, implementing and evaluating improvement projects that are identified from performance measurement. This study presents an integrated approach to performance measurement and implementing framework of improvement projects

Project risk management using multiple criteria decision-making technique and decision tree analysis:a case study of Indian oil refinery

    Get PDF
This study proposes an integrated analytical framework for effective management of project risks using combined multiple criteria decision-making technique and decision tree analysis. First, a conceptual risk management model was developed through thorough literature review. The model was then applied through action research on a petroleum oil refinery construction project in the Central part of India in order to demonstrate its effectiveness. Oil refinery construction projects are risky because of technical complexity, resource unavailability, involvement of many stakeholders and strict environmental requirements. Although project risk management has been researched extensively, practical and easily adoptable framework is missing. In the proposed framework, risks are identified using cause and effect diagram, analysed using the analytic hierarchy process and responses are developed using the risk map. Additionally, decision tree analysis allows modelling various options for risk response development and optimises selection of risk mitigating strategy. The proposed risk management framework could be easily adopted and applied in any project and integrated with other project management knowledge areas
