AbstractRecently, fuzzy n-ary sub-polygroups were introduced and studied by Davvaz, Corsini and Leoreanu-Fotea [B. Davvaz, P. Corsini, V. Leoreanu-Fotea, Fuzzy n-ary sub-polygroups, Comput. Math. Appl. 57 (2008) 141–152]. Now, in this paper, the concept of (∈,∈∨q)-fuzzy n-ary sub-polygroups, (∈¯,∈¯∨q¯)-fuzzy n-ary sub-polygroups and fuzzy n-ary sub-polygroup with thresholds of an n-ary polygroup are introduced and some characterizations are described. Also, we give the definition of implication-based fuzzy n-ary sub-polygroups in an n-ary polygroup, in particular, the implication operators in Łukasiewicz system of continuous-valued logic are discussed

The intuitionistic fuzzification of the notion of an interior ideal in ordered semigroups is considered. The purpose of this study is to introduce the notion of (∈, ∈ vq)-intuitionistic fuzzy interior ideals and (∈, ∈)-intuitionistic fuzzy nterior ideals of semigroups. The important milestone of the present paper is to link ordinary intuitionistic fuzzy interior ideals, (∈, ∈)-intuitionistic fuzzy interior ideals and (∈, ∈ vq)-intuitionistic fuzzy interior ideals. Moreover, semigroups are characterized by the properties of these new notions

    One has considered the Hypergroupoid Η Γ = associated with a multivalued function Γ from H to a set D, defined as follows:∀ x ∈ H, x ο Γ x = ⎨y⏐ Γ(y) ∩ Γ(x) ≠ ∅⎬ ,∀ (y,z) ∈ H 2 , y ο Γ z = y ο Γ y ∪ z ο Γ z ,and one has calculated the fuzzy grade ∂(Η Γ ) for several functions Γ defined on sets H, such that ⎮H⎮ ∈ ⎨3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 16⎬

This book provides a timely overview of topics in fuzzy mathematics. It lays the foundation for further research and applications in a broad range of areas. It contains break-through analysis on how results from the many variations and extensions of fuzzy set theory can be obtained from known results of traditional fuzzy set theory. The book contains not only theoretical results, but a wide range of applications in areas such as decision analysis, optimal allocation in possibilistics and mixed models, pattern classification, credibility measures, algorithms for modeling uncertain data, and numerical methods for solving fuzzy linear systems. The book offers an excellent reference for advanced undergraduate and graduate students in applied and theoretical fuzzy mathematics. Researchers and referees in fuzzy set theory will find the book to be of extreme value

Effects of oil palm (elais guineensis) fruit extracts on glucose uptake activity of muscle, adipose and liver cells

The effect of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis) fruit aqueous extract (OPF) on glucose uptake activity of three different cell lines was investigated. The cell lines were incubated with different concentrations of OPF to evaluate the stimulatory effect of OPF towards glucose uptake activity of L6 myotubes, 3T3F442A adipocytes and Chang liver cell line. The glucose uptake activities of all tested cells were enhanced in the presence of OPF extract (basal condition). Nevertheless in combination of OPF extract and 100 nM insulin, the glucose uptake activity was only significantly enhanced in L6 myotubes and 3T3F442A adipocytes cell lines. The extracts enhanced the glucose uptake into cells through either insulin-mimetic or insulin-sensitizing property or combination of these two properties. It can be suggested that the OPF extract exerts its antihyperglycemic action partly by mediated glucose uptake into the glucose-responsive disposal cells, muscle, adipose and liver
