    Projek ini adalah untuk melihat kemahiran yang diperlukan oleh pelajar Diploma Ukur Tanah dalam menggunakan peralatan ukur dan perisian berkaitan. Sampel kajian terdiri daripada 32 orang pelajar semester keenam yang sedang mengikuti kursus Diploma Ukur Tanah di Politeknik Sultan Haji Ahamd Shah, Kuantan Pahang. Perolehan data adalah melalui borang soal selidik. Pengkaji memberi tumpuan kepada persoalan kajian yang melihat kepada tiga aspek iaitu, jenis-jenis peralatan dan perisian ukur tanah di firma ukur tanah, aspek kemahiran-kemahiran yang dimiliki pelajar meliputi kemahiran menggunakan peralatan ukur, kemahiran menggunakan perisian ukur dan kemahiran-kemahiran asas meliputi teori yang diperlukan dalam keija-keija ukur dan dalam menghasilan produk uk ur. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan pelajar mahir menggunakan alat ukur manual dan kemahiran pelajar terhadap penggunaan perisian adalah tidak pelbagai. Hasil kajian juga menunjukkan bahawa pelajar mahir dalam mengaplikasikan teori-teori yang digunakan dalam keija ukur dan penghasilan produk ukur

    Prospects of a mathematical theory of human behavior in complex man-machine systems tasks

    A hierarchy of human activities is derived by analyzing automobile driving in general terms. A structural description leads to a block diagram and a time-sharing computer analogy. The range of applicability of existing mathematical models is considered with respect to the hierarchy of human activities in actual complex tasks. Other mathematical tools so far not often applied to man machine systems are also discussed. The mathematical descriptions at least briefly considered here include utility, estimation, control, queueing, and fuzzy set theory as well as artificial intelligence techniques. Some thoughts are given as to how these methods might be integrated and how further work might be pursued

    Cost minimization for unstable concurrent products in multi-stage production line using queueing analysis

    This research and resulting contribution are results of Assumption University of Thailand. The university partially supports financially the publication.Purpose: The paper copes with the queueing theory for evaluating a muti-stage production line process with concurrent goods. The intention of this article is to evaluate the efficiency of products assembly in the production line. Design/Methodology/Approach: To elevate the efficiency of the assembly line it is required to control the performance of individual stations. The arrival process of concurrent products is piled up before flowing to each station. All experiments are based on queueing network analysis. Findings: The performance analysis for unstable concurrent sub-items in the production line is discussed. The proposed analysis is based on the improvement of the total sub-production time by lessening the queue time in each station. Practical implications: The collected data are number of workers, incoming and outgoing sub-products, throughput rate, and individual station processing time. The front loading place unpacks product items into concurrent sub-items by an operator and automatically sorts them by RFID tag or bar code identifiers. Experiments of the work based on simulation are compared and validated with results from real approximation. Originality/Value: It is an alternative improvement to increase the efficiency of the operation in each station with minimum costs.peer-reviewe

    Modeling Supply Networks and Business Cycles as Unstable Transport Phenomena

    Physical concepts developed to describe instabilities in traffic flows can be generalized in a way that allows one to understand the well-known instability of supply chains (the so-called ``bullwhip effect''). That is, small variations in the consumption rate can cause large variations in the production rate of companies generating the requested product. Interestingly, the resulting oscillations have characteristic frequencies which are considerably lower than the variations in the consumption rate. This suggests that instabilities of supply chains may be the reason for the existence of business cycles. At the same time, we establish some link to queuing theory and between micro- and macroeconomics.Comment: For related work see http://www.helbing.or

    Modeling the human as a controller in a multitask environment

    Modeling the human as a controller of slowly responding systems with preview is considered. Along with control tasks, discrete noncontrol tasks occur at irregular intervals. In multitask situations such as these, it has been observed that humans tend to apply piecewise constant controls. It is believed that the magnitude of controls and the durations for which they remain constant are dependent directly on the system bandwidth, preview distance, complexity of the trajectory to be followed, and nature of the noncontrol tasks. A simple heuristic model of human control behavior in this situation is presented. The results of a simulation study, whose purpose was determination of the sensitivity of the model to its parameters, are discussed

    Analysis on Random Fuzzy Queueing Systems with Finite Capacity

    This paper discusses random fuzzy queueing systems with finite capacity, where the interarrival times and service times are characterized as random fuzzy variables. Fuzzy simulation techniques are designed to estimate the membership degree, the expected value of system length, and the credibility measure that the system length does not exceed a predetermined level. Furthermore, the rough figures of the membership function and credibility distribution function of the system length can be obtained. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the presented techniques
