    Along with the growth of Petra Christian University, more college students and guests will come to visit this university. Petra Christian University has more than few buildings and it does not rule out the possibility that new buildings will be build later. Then, Petra Christian University will need location maps and directions to help visitors of the university find specific locations inside campus area. There are physical and digital maps of Petra Christian University, and a Final Project which displays few floor maps of Petra Christian University. But an application which especially provides an interactive map and virtual tour of Petra Christian University hasn\u27t been made.Thus, a system is being developed, which has two separate applications. The first application is an Android-based apllication called Petra PanoraMap, its goal is to provide interactive maps for Petra Christian University. This application provides a virtual tour for users which displays panoramic views of several locations inside Petra Christian University. The second application is a web-based application called PanoraMap Editor, its goal is to provide all data and pictures needed by Petra PanoraMap. Thus, it is needed to create a data structure that can represent Petra Christian University as a whole entity based on object-oriented approach.Tests have been performed to both Petra PanoraMap and PanoraMap Editor. Petra PanoraMap application can display panoramic views so that users can feel that they are inside Petra Christian University. It is proved that PanoraMap Editor application can produce a type of data that can readily deployed into and read by Petra PanoraMap, so that contents and panoramic photos inside Petra PanoraMap is a dynamic data

    Area publik merupakan suatu area dimana lokasi tersebut menjadi pusat masyarakat umum untuk beraktifitas. Sebuah area publik biasanya mempunyai area yang luas dengan berbagai sub area yang terdapat di dalamnya. Contoh dari area public adalah mall, bandara, stasiun, museum, alun-alun, dan lain-lain. Pengunjung baru suatu public area biasanya kebingungan saat ingin menulusuri tempat-tempat di dalamnya. Akan sangat memudahkan jika suatu sistem navigasi dapat diterapkan pada fasilitas umum seperti ini. Area publik dapat berbentuk indoor maupun outdoor. Sistem navigasi berbasis satelit seperti GPS mempunyai keterbatasan jika diterapkan pada area indoor disebabkan oleh suatu kondisi yang disebut line of sigh yaitu suatu kondisi dimana tidak memungkin terjadinya transmisi sinyal yang tidak terhalang antara perangkat dan satelit. Wi-fi fingerprint positioning merupakan salah satu metode alternatif dalam sistem penentuan posisi dengan memanfaatkan wi-fi access point sebagai transmitter. Jangkauan sinyal wi-fi yang cukup luas dan kebutuhan perangkat yang minimal dapat menjadi solusi optimal untuk membangun suatu sistem navigasi dalam ruangan. Prototipe sistem navigasi dalam ruangan dikembangkan di area lantai 3 gedung Fakultas Teknologi Industri Unissula sebagai studi kasus penelitian. Prototipe diimplementasikan dengan metode fingerprint positioning dan algoritma k-NN untuk dapat melakukan pemposisian, serta algoritma A-star untuk melakukan pencarian rute navigasi. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa prototipe dapat menentukan posisi pengguna serta memberikan rute navigasi dengan baik

    An Effective Approach for Mobile ad hoc Network via I-Watchdog Protocol

    Mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is now days become very famous due to their fixed infrastructure-less quality and dynamic nature. They contain a large number of nodes which are connected and communicated to each other in wireless nature. Mobile ad hoc network is a wireless technology that contains high mobility of nodes and does not depend on the background administrator for central authority, because they do not contain any infrastructure. Nodes of the MANET use radio wave for communication and having limited resources and limited computational power. The Topology of this network is changing very frequently because they are distributed in nature and self-configurable. Due to its wireless nature and lack of any central authority in the background, Mobile ad hoc networks are always vulnerable to some security issues and performance issues. The security imposes a huge impact on the performance of any network. Some of the security issues are black hole attack, flooding, wormhole attack etc. In this paper, we will discuss issues regarding low performance of Watchdog protocol used in the MANET and proposed an improved Watchdog mechanism, which is called by I-Watchdog protocol that overcomes the limitations of Watchdog protocol and gives high performance in terms of throughput, delay

    A fuzzy logic approach to localisation in wireless local area networks

    This thesis examines the use and value of fuzzy sets, fuzzy logic and fuzzy inference in wireless positioning systems and solutions. Various fuzzy-related techniques and methodologies are reviewed and investigated, including a comprehensive review of fuzzy-based positioning and localisation systems. The thesis is aimed at the development of a novel positioning technique which enhances well-known multi-nearest-neighbour (kNN) and fingerprinting algorithms with received signal strength (RSS) measurements. A fuzzy inference system is put forward for the generation of weightings for selected nearest-neighbours and the elimination of outliers. In this study, Monte Carlo simulations of a proposed multivariable fuzzy localisation (MVFL) system showed a significant improvement in the root mean square error (RMSE) in position estimation, compared with well-known localisation algorithms. The simulation outcomes were confirmed empirically in laboratory tests under various scenarios. The proposed technique uses available indoor wireless local area network (WLAN) infrastructure and requires no additional hardware or modification to the network, nor any active user participation.
