Acceptance of Health Information System for Public Health Centre in North Borneo, Indonesia
This study sought the factor associated with own acceptance of HIS for PHC by using the modification of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in the Sebengkok PHC, Central Tarakan Subdistrict, Tarakan City, North Borneo, Indonesia. A cross-sectional approach was conducted through a survey on the 37 of PHC\u27s user. A set of questionnaires which was adopted from the previous research was used to collect the information from the participant. The model was developed by involving job relevance, output quality, result demonstrability, screen design, terminology, facilitating condition, perceived of usefulness, perceived ease of use, intention to use and system use (actual usage) as the construct. According to the hypothesis testing, perceived usefulness predicted by terminology, perceived ease of use is significantly predicted by screen design and terminology, perceived usefulness significantly predicts the intention of use and perceived ease of use, while system use which predicted considerably by the intention of use and facilitating condition. This study may have a contribution to the future improvement of HIS for PHC and guide the next coming research to dig the difference acceptance among the user
An empirical investigation of the channels that facilitate a total quality culture
It is generally agreed that the culture of an organisation is a function of its values, beliefs and behavioural practices and that the influence of culture on an organisation is powerful and pervasive. There is also broad agreement that total quality management (TQM ) is a management paradigm that propagates certain values, behaviour and working methods. Moreover, that the successful introduction and practice of a total quality management approach requires close attention to, and more often than not modification of, organisational culture. Yet, culture is somewhat intangible, and regardless of the precise cultural aspirations, in order to change or maintain the desired culture an organisation needs a set of facilitating channels. These are mechanisms or necessary conditions that influence, mould and help sustain a desirable cultural orientation. This paper examines the channels that facilitate the development of a total quality culture based on the findings of an investigation of an international sample of organisations widely regarded as leading exponents of TQM

The role of intermediaries in facilitating e-government diffusion in Saudi Arabia
Recent studies of e-government activity have highlighted adoption and diffusion issues as important subjects for rating e-government success. However in developing countries inadequate resources and limited citizensâ capabilities regarding new e-government have resulted in low diffusion and adoption of e-government services. This paper examines the role of intermediaries, which can be played by a third party; in bridging the gap between e-government implementation and social reality, and looks at the roles a third party can add within the e-government services mechanism. This paper uses a case study approach in order to reflect e-government progress within the context of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) as one developing country. The result of this paper shows that intermediaries play an important role in the diffusion of e-services in relation to improving the availability, accessibility and enhancing privacy and security
Fatores que afetam a adoção de anålises de Big Data em empresas
With the total quantity of data doubling every two years, the low price of computing and data storage, make Big
Data analytics (BDA) adoption desirable for companies, as a tool to get competitive advantage. Given the availability
of free software, why have some companies failed to adopt these techniques? To answer this question,
we extend the unified theory of technology adoption and use of technology model (UTAUT) adapted for the BDA
context, adding two variables: resistance to use and perceived risk. We used the level of implementation of
these techniques to divide companies into users and non-users of BDA. The structural models were evaluated
by partial least squares (PLS). The results show the importance of good infrastructure exceeds the difficulties
companies face in implementing it. While companies planning to use Big Data expect strong results, current
users are more skeptical about its performance.

A cross-cultural examination of the impact of social, organisational and individual factors on educational technology acceptance between British and Lebanese university students
This paper examines the social, organisational and individual factors that may affect students' acceptance of e-learning systems in higher education in a cross-cultural context. A questionnaire was developed based on an extended technology acceptance model (TAM). A total sample of 1173 university students from two private universities in Lebanon and one university in England participated in this study. After performing the satisfactory reliability and validity checks, the hypothesised model was estimated using structural equation modeling. The findings of this study revealed that perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEOU), social norms (SNs), perceived quality of work life (QWL), computer self-efficacy (SE) and facilitating conditions (FC) are significant determinants of behavioural intentions (BIs) and usage of e-learning system for the Lebanese and British students. QWL, the newly added variable, was found the most important construct in explaining the causal process in the model for both samples. Differences were found between Lebanese and British students with regard to PEOU, SN, QWL, FC, SE and actual usage; however, no differences were detected in terms of PU and BI. Overall, the proposed model achieves acceptable fit and explains for 69% of the British sample and 57% of the Lebanese sample of its variance which is higher than that of the original TAM. Our findings suggest that individual, social and organisational factors are important to consider in explaining students' BI and usage of e-learning environments

Current state of e-services in Saudi Arabia: the case of intermediaries in facilitating government services in Madinah city
The government of Madinah has launched âKhdamatecâ electronic Offices (e-Offices) concept under their national electronic Government (e-Government) modernisation agenda to facilitate service delivery to citizens and seamless interaction to communicate their needs. By offering e-Offices around the government departments, Madinah government hopes to increase accessibility of e-Government services and make steps forward to electronic age, encourage Medina' citizens to participate and use e-Services and bridging digital divide. However, the empirical findings illustrate that the adoption and diffusion of the e-Office concept and e-Government in the wider context at a lethargic pace. This paper highlights some of the challenges faced by the Madinah city in implementing the e-Office concept and e-Government

E-government adoption in Qatar: An investigation of the citizens' perspective
Electronic government (e-government) initiatives are in their early stages in many developing countries and faced
with various issues pertaining to their implementation, adoption and diffusion. Like many other developing
countries, the e-government initiative in the state of Qatar has faced a number of challenges since its inception in
2000. Using a survey based study this paper describes citizensâ behavioural intention and adoption in terms of
applying and utilising the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of technology (UTAUT) model to explore the
adoption and diffusion of e-government services in the state of Qatar. A regression analysis was conducted to
examine the influence of e-government adoption factors and the empirical data revealed that performance
expectancy, effort expectancy, and social influences determine citizensâ behavioural intention towards e-government.
Moreover, facilitating conditions and behavioural intention were found to determine citizensâ use of e-government
services in the state of Qatar. Implications for practice and research are discussed

An evaluation of total quality management practices on business performance of the Nigerian telecommunications sector: a case study of MTN Nigeria Limited
This study examines the effects of The Total Quality Management practices on Business Performance of
the Nigerian Telecommunications Sector. A review of literatures on TQM shows that no study has been
carried out on its application in the Nigerian Telecommunication sector hence the need for this research.
To assess the situation One hundred and fifty (150) questionnaires were administered to customers of
MTN Limited within the Lagos environ. These customers were randomly selected from five (5) different
MTN customer care centres within the five divisions of Lagos State. These divisions include Epe, Ikorodu,
Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland and Badagry. Thirty (30) questionnaires were administered at each centre.
Fifty (50) questionnaires were also administered to employees of MTN and a total of twenty (20)
questionnaires were administered to top management in the same organizations.
The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis. Our finding
revealed that 90.7% of the changes that occurred in employeesâ satisfaction could be traced to the policy
and commitment of top management. It also shows that 69.4% of the changes in customer satisfaction
could be attributed to continuous training in quality. The study recommended among other things the
training of telecommunications personnel on Total Quality Management practices and the adoption of
alternative renewable sources of energy like solar to address their energy problems
