[EN] We present a procedure to construct a compatible metric from a given fuzzy metric space. We use this approach to obtain a characterization of a large class of complete fuzzy metric spaces by means of a fuzzy version of Caristi’s fixed point theorem, obtaining, in this way, partial solutions to a recent question posed in the literature. Some illustrative examples are also given. The authors thank the referees for several useful suggestions. Fixed point theorems in complex valued fuzzy b-metric spaces with application to integral equations

In this paper, firstly, we introduce the concept of a complex valued fuzzy b-metric space, which is inspired by the work of Shukla et al. [24]. Also, we investigate some of its topological properties which strengthen this concept. Next, we establish some fixed point theorems in the context of complex valued fuzzy b-metric spaces and give suitable examples to illustrate the usability of the obtained main results. These results extend and generalize the corresponding results given in the existing literature. Moreover, we provide some applications on the existence and uniqueness of solutions for a certain type of nonlinear integral equations.WOS:0006611395000132-s2.0-8510851444

Soft Set Theory: Generalizations, Fixed Point Theorems, and Applications

Tesis por compendioMathematical models have extensively been used in problems related to engineering, computer sciences, economics, social, natural and medical sciences etc. It has become very common to use mathematical tools to solve, study the behavior and different aspects of a system and its different subsystems. Because of various uncertainties arising in real world situations, methods of classical mathematics may not be successfully applied to solve them. Thus, new mathematical theories such as probability theory and fuzzy set theory have been introduced by mathematicians and computer scientists to handle the problems associated with the uncertainties of a model. But there are certain deficiencies pertaining to the parametrization in fuzzy set theory. Soft set theory aims to provide enough tools in the form of parameters to deal with the uncertainty in a data and to represent it in a useful way. The distinguishing attribute of soft set theory is that unlike probability theory and fuzzy set theory, it does not uphold a precise quantity. This attribute has facilitated applications in decision making, demand analysis, forecasting, information sciences, mathematics and other disciplines. In this thesis we will discuss several algebraic and topological properties of soft sets and fuzzy soft sets. Since soft sets can be considered as setvalued maps, the study of fixed point theory for multivalued maps on soft topological spaces and on other related structures will be also explored. The contributions of the study carried out in this thesis can be summarized as follows: i) Revisit of basic operations in soft set theory and proving some new results based on these modifications which would certainly set a new dimension to explore this theory further and would help to extend its limits further in different directions. Our findings can be applied to develop and modify the existing literature on soft topological spaces ii) Defining some new classes of mappings and then proving the existence and uniqueness of such mappings which can be viewed as a positive contribution towards an advancement of metric fixed point theory iii) Initiative of soft fixed point theory in framework of soft metric spaces and proving the results lying at the intersection of soft set theory and fixed point theory which would help in establishing a bridge between these two flourishing areas of research. iv) This study is also a starting point for the future research in the area of fuzzy soft fixed point theory.Abbas, M. A survey on fuzzy fractional differential and optimal control nonlocal evolution equations

We survey some representative results on fuzzy fractional differential equations, controllability, approximate controllability, optimal control, and optimal feedback control for several different kinds of fractional evolution equations. Optimality and relaxation of multiple control problems, described by nonlinear fractional differential equations with nonlocal control conditions in Banach spaces, are considered.Comment: This is a preprint of a paper whose final and definite form is with 'Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics', ISSN: 0377-0427. Extended Proinov X-contractions in metric spaces and fuzzy metric spaces satisfying the property NC by avoiding the monotone condition

In recent years, Fixed Point Theory has achieved great importance within Nonlinear Analysis especially due to its interesting applications in real-world contexts. Its methodology is based on the comparison between the distances between two points and their respective images through a nonlinear operator. This comparison is made through contractive conditions involving auxiliary functions whose role is increasingly decisive, and which are acquiring a prominent role in Functional Analysis. Very recently, Proinov introduced new fixed point results that have very much attracted the researchers’ attention especially due to the extraordinarily weak conditions on the auxiliary functions considered. However, one of them, the nondecreasing character of the main function, has been used for many years without the chance of being replaced by another alternative property. In this way, several researchers have recently raised this question as an open problem in this field of study. In order to face this open problem, in this work we introduce a novel class of auxiliary functions that serve to define contractions, both in metric spaces and in fuzzy metric spaces, which, in addition to generalizing to Proinov contractions, avoid the nondecreasing character of themain auxiliary function. Furthermore, we present these new results in the setting of fuzzy metric spaces that satisfy the conditionNC, which open new possibilities in the metric theory compared to classic non-Archimedean fuzzy metric spaces. Finally, we include some illustrative examples to show how to apply the novel theorems to cases that are not covered by other previous results.Universidad de Granada / CBU

Fuzzy Solutions to Second Order Three Point Boundary Value Problem

In this manuscript, the proposed work is to study the existence of second-order differential equations with three point boundary conditions. Existence is proved using fuzzy set valued mappings of a real variable whose values are normal, convex, upper semi continuous and compactly supported fuzzy sets. The sufficient conditions are also provided to establish the existence results of fuzzy solutions of second order differential equations for three point boundary value problem. By using Banach fixed point principle, a new existence theorem of solutions for these equations in the metric space of normal fuzzy convex sets with distance given by the maximum of the Hausdorff distance between level sets is obtained. Then to further establish the existence, fixed point theorem for absolute retracts is used by taking consideration that space of fuzzy sets can be embedded isometrically as a cone in Banach space. Finally, an example is provided to illustrate the result

In this paper, we introduce the notion of fuzzy R − ψ−contractive mappings and prove some relevant results on the existence and uniqueness of fixed points for this type of mappings in the setting of non-Archimedean fuzzy metric spaces. Several illustrative examples are also given to support our newly proven results. Furthermore, we apply our main results to prove the existence and uniqueness of a solution for Caputo fractional differential equations
