The minerals and the metals are integrally associated with the development of human culture and growth of the society. Minerals are essential component of Nation's material and economic base. They contribute to indust-rialization and form an important infrastructure for the development of the country. However, conservation of these non-renewable assets is absolutely essential in view of the rapid industrialization and consumption of minerals. Attempts should be aimed to use the resour-ces wisely and efficiently for complete utilization of the components with no waste. Ignoring the awareness in respect of mineral resources, environmental issues have come into prominence and the aspect of conservation and safe guarding the environment can be managed by making proper use of the mined materials, wasting the least, reclamation, restoration, afforestation and creation of better environment for better habitat

The NASA Thesaurus -- Volume 2, Access Vocabulary -- contains an alphabetical listing of all Thesaurus terms (postable and nonpostable) and permutations of all multiword and pseudo-multiword terms. Also included are Other Words (non-Thesaurus terms) consisting of abbreviations, chemical symbols, etc. The permutations and Other Words provide 'access' to the appropriate postable entries in the Thesaurus

Process optimization in the core manufacturing department of a foundry industry

A atual globalização, assim como o aumento da competitividade nos mercados nacionais e internacionais, deu origem a um ambiente imprevisível que levou as organizações procurar soluções para se superarem e procurar melhorar, de forma continua os seus processos produtivos nos ramos em que se encontram inseridas, com o objetivo de prestar um serviço superior e disponibilizar produtos com qualidade elevada e com menos custos associados. A implementação de metodologias relacionadas com a filosofia Lean tem revelado aumento na competitividade das organizações através de processos de melhoria contínua, para a redução de desperdícios assim como a otimização e normalização de processos e organização dos espaços de trabalho. Este novo paradigma de produção levou a muitas empresas adotar esta filosofia, no entanto a sua implementação nem sempre é bem sucedida. Neste trabalho são identificadas e caracterizadas alguns paradigmas e ferramentas desta filosofia, assim como algumas causas das falhas na implementação. Esta dissertação surge no âmbito de um estágio numa empresa líder nacional no setor da fundição, com o objetivo de otimizar os processos produtivos no departamento da Macharia através de uma abordagem SMED para redução dos tempos de troca de caixas de machos e TPM para aumentar a produtividade dos equipamentos e colaboradores do mesmo departamento

There are 16,713 postable terms and 3,716 nonpostable terms approved for use in the NASA scientific and technical information system in the Hierarchical Listing of the NASA Thesaurus. The generic structure is presented for many terms. The broader term and narrower term relationships are shown in an indented fashion that illustrates the generic structure better than the more widely used BT and NT listings. Related terms are generously applied, thus enhancing the usefulness of the Hierarchical Listing. Greater access to the Hierarchical Listing may be achieved with the collateral use of Volume 2 - Access Vocabulary
