    Partint d'una publicaci√≥ de l'any 1985 sobre energies renovables i m√≥n rural, aquest article es planteja quin √©s el paper dels espais rurals i de les persones que hi viuen i hi treballen en el prove√Įment d'energia per a cobrir tant les necessitats pr√≤pies com les foranes, basant-se, en aquest cas, en relacions de bescanvi equitatives i justes, deixant enrere la visi√≥ del m√≥n ¬ęextractivista ¬Ľ per passar a una visi√≥ del m√≥n mutualista, cooperativista. Per assolir- ho, es proposa treballar per fer possible la democratitzaci√≥ dels sistemes energ√®tics, i exposa els principis en els quals, segons l'autor, s'hauria de basar la democr√†cia energ√ąTICA i el paper que hi tenen els sistemes energ√ąTICS descentralitzats o distribu√Įts, amb els emergents nous drets b√†sics i responsabilitats, pel que fa a l'energia.Partiendo de una publicaci√≥n de 1985 sobre energ√≠as renovables y mundo rural, este art√≠culo se plantea cu√°l es el papel de los espacios rurales y delas personas que en √©l viven y trabajan en el abastecimiento de energ√≠a para cubrir tanto las necesidades propias como las for√°neas, bas√°ndose, en este caso, en relaciones de intercambio equitativas y justas, dejando atr√°s la visi√≥n del mundo ¬ęextractivista¬Ľ para pasar a una visi√≥n del mundo mutualista, cooperativista. Para lograrlo, se propone trabajar para hacer posible la democratizaci√≥n de los sistemas energ√©ticos, exponiendo los principios en los que, seg√ļn el autor, deber√≠a basarse la democracia energ√ČTICA y el papel que tienen los sistemas energ√ČTICOS descentralizados o distribuidos, con los emergentes nuevos derechos b√°sicos y responsabilidades, en cuanto a energ√≠a se refiere.Taking as a starting point what was argued in a 1985 publication on renewable energy and rural areas, the question is raised about the role to be played by rural areas and the people who live and work there in the supply of energy for both their own and outside needs, based in this case on equitable and fair relations of exchange, leaving behind the extractivist worldview to adopt a mutual, cooperative approach. To achieve this aim, this paper proposes that efforts should be made to allow the democratization of energy systems, setting forth the principles which, in the author¬ís opinion, should form the basis of the energy democracy, and the role that should be played in this respect by decentralized or distributed energy systems in conjunction with the emerging new basic rights and responsibilities in the field of energy

L‚Äôarticle detalla els continguts del programa europeu URB-AL tipus B centrat en Energies Renovables i Xarxes de Desenvolupament Local, les seves prioritats i activitats, els nous Centres E+D (energia y desenvolupament local) i alguns casos municipals de millora energ√®tica.Con la revoluci√≥n industrial se pas√≥ de las energ√≠as renovables a las energ√≠as f√≥siles, favoreciendo la producci√≥n centralizada de energ√≠as, que se convert√≠a as√≠ en un problema regional o nacional pero ya no local. Hoy, se ven las ciudades como promotoras de desarrollo econ√≥mico, lo que incluye el autoabastecimiento energ√©tico. This favoured the centralized production of energy, which then became a regional or national problem rather than a local one. Today, cities are seen as drivers of economic development.     Financing schemes for residential, grid-connected PV solar systems in BCS, Mexico

    This article presents two proposals to spur the extensive adoption of grid-connected, residential, solar photovoltaic systems in the Mexican state of Baja California Sur. To this aim, electricity generation costs and subsidies were estimated first, together with time-of-generation avoided costs that could result from the implementation of such solar systems. An overview of financing mechanisms for solar and other renewable energies around the world is also presented followed by current mechanisms available in Mexico. The first proposal is centered around the operation of a solar energy service company that would receive the avoided cost of generation as compensation in return for sourcing, installing, and maintaining solar PV systems on residential users’ roofs. This would free up the residential user from any future electricity payments. The second proposal consists in the implementation of a feed-in tariff (FiT), currently unavailable in Mexico for residential users. The FiT could be funded from the avoided generation cost in conventional plants plus the corresponding savings from self-generation of electricity. Alternatively, the option of funding the FiT from small increases in electricity prices to all customers was also explored.     Policy and Environmental Implications of Photovoltaic Systems in Farming in Southeast Spain: Can Greenhouses Reduce the Greenhouse Effect?

    Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems have grown in popularity in the farming sector, primarily because land area and farm structures themselves, such as greenhouses, can be exploited for this purpose, and, moreover, because farms tend to be located in rural areas far from energy production plants. In Spain, despite being a country with enormous potential for this renewable energy source, little is being done to exploit it, and policies of recent years have even restricted its implementation. These factors constitute an obstacle, both for achieving environmental commitments and for socioeconomic development. This study proposes the installation of PV systems on greenhouses in southeast Spain, the location with the highest concentration of greenhouses in Europe. Following a sensitivity analysis, it is estimated that the utilization of this technology in the self-consumption scenario at farm level produces increased profitability for farms, which can range from 0.88% (worst scenario) to 52.78% (most favorable scenario). Regarding the Spanish environmental policy, the results obtained demonstrate that the impact of applying this technology mounted on greenhouses would bring the country 38% closer to reaching the 2030 greenhouse gas (GHG) target. Furthermore, it would make it possible to nearly achieve the official commitment of 20% renewable energies by 2020. Additionally, it would have considerable effects on the regional socioeconomy, with increases in job creation and contribution to gross domestic product (GDP)/R&D (Research and Development), allowing greater profitability in agrifood activities throughout the entire region

L‚Äôobjectiu √©s transformar aquesta vivenda en un hotel rural que pugui autoabastir. D‚Äôaquesta manera podrem captar l‚Äôatenci√≥ d‚Äôun client preocupat pel medi ambient. No √ļnicament s‚Äôhan tractat les energies renovables, sin√≥ que tamb√© ens hem preocupat per l‚Äôaprofitament de les aig√ľes, tant pluvials com d‚Äô√ļs dom√®stic. La millora dels a√Įllaments ha sigut un punt clau al projecte ja que s‚Äôhan redu√Įt les p√®rdues considerablement. D‚Äôaquesta manera, amb els nous par√†metres obtinguts, el nostre hotel rural seria considerat com una vivenda passiva de molt baix consum energ√®tic. Gr√†cies a aix√≤, s‚Äôha aconseguir una reducci√≥ del consum de biomassa. Com objectiu final, volem detallar la viabilitat del projecte sent realistes a l‚Äôhora d‚Äôescollir un sistema energ√®tic o un altre sense que el cost sigui desproporcionat

    E-Learning: Sustainability, Environment and Renewable Energy, a Multinational Training Pilot Module at the Postgraduate Level

    A Pilot Module will be implemented by 4 JELARE project?s partners: Bolivia, Brazil, Guatemala and Latvia. A research was made by them in their own countries where a scarcity of multidisciplinary programs was detected at the Postgraduate level. The common characteristic was the need to modernize the curriculum by introducing a more diverse perspective. The student profile at the end should aim to provide skills to the private as well as the public, non-governmental and academic sectors. The pensum will consist of 13 courses inferred from an analysis of the competencies needed, along three modules: Sustainability, Environment and Renewable Energy (with courses such as Sociology of Development and Global Challenges, Environment and Sustainable Development, Energy Matrix Planning, Energy Economics, Policies and Regulations on Energy and Environment and courses mainly devoted to renewable energy and their management). The Postgraduate Program is to be implemented in 4 trimesters. On-line modalities will be introduced where self-study, cooperation and tutorial guidelines will be highlighted.
