XRound : A reversible template language and its application in model-based security analysis
Successful analysis of the models used in Model-Driven Development requires the ability to synthesise the results of analysis and automatically integrate these results with the models themselves. This paper presents a reversible template language called XRound which supports round-trip transformations between models and the logic used to encode system properties. A template processor that supports the language is described, and the use of the template language is illustrated by its application in an analysis workbench, designed to support analysis of security properties of UML and MOF-based models. As a result of using reversible templates, it is possible to seamlessly and automatically integrate the results of a security analysis with a model. (C) 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved

From 19.11.2006 to 22.11.2006, the Dagstuhl Seminar 06472 ``XQuery Implementation Paradigms'' was held in the International Conference and Research Center (IBFI), Schloss Dagstuhl. During the seminar, several participants presented their current research, and ongoing work and open problems were discussed. Abstracts of the presentations given during the seminar as well as abstracts of seminar results and ideas are put together in this paper. Identification of Design Principles
This report identifies those design principles for a (possibly new) query and transformation
language for the Web supporting inference that are considered essential. Based upon these
design principles an initial strawman is selected. Scenarios for querying the Semantic Web
illustrate the design principles and their reflection in the initial strawman, i.e., a first draft of
the query language to be designed and implemented by the REWERSE working group I4
VXA: A Virtual Architecture for Durable Compressed Archives
Data compression algorithms change frequently, and obsolete decoders do not
always run on new hardware and operating systems, threatening the long-term
usability of content archived using those algorithms. Re-encoding content into
new formats is cumbersome, and highly undesirable when lossy compression is
involved. Processor architectures, in contrast, have remained comparatively
stable over recent decades. VXA, an archival storage system designed around
this observation, archives executable decoders along with the encoded content
it stores. VXA decoders run in a specialized virtual machine that implements an
OS-independent execution environment based on the standard x86 architecture.
The VXA virtual machine strictly limits access to host system services, making
decoders safe to run even if an archive contains malicious code. VXA's adoption
of a "native" processor architecture instead of type-safe language technology
allows reuse of existing "hand-optimized" decoders in C and assembly language,
and permits decoders access to performance-enhancing architecture features such
as vector processing instructions. The performance cost of VXA's virtualization
is typically less than 15% compared with the same decoders running natively.
The storage cost of archived decoders, typically 30-130KB each, can be

Extending Yioop! With Geographical Location Local Search
It is often useful when doing an internet search to get results based on our current location. For example, we might want such results when we search on restaurants, car service center, or hospitals. Current open source search engines like those based on Nutch do not provide this facility. Commercial engines like Google and Yahoo! provide this facility so it would be useful to incorporate it in an open source alternative. The goal of this project is to include location aware search in Yioop!(Pollett, 2012) by using geographical data from OpenStreetMap(âOpen Street map wikiâ, 2012) and hostip.info (âDMOZâ, n.d.) database to geolocate IP addresses

This paper examines XML and its relationships with SGML (Standardized General Markup Language) and HTML (HyperText Markup Language). It examines the importance of metatags and the XML Document Type Definition (DTD) and proposed alternatives. It looks at the differences between the two types of XML data: âvalidâ and âwell-formedâ documents
A Monitoring System for the BaBar INFN Computing Cluster
Monitoring large clusters is a challenging problem. It is necessary to
observe a large quantity of devices with a reasonably short delay between
consecutive observations. The set of monitored devices may include PCs, network
switches, tape libraries and other equipments. The monitoring activity should
not impact the performances of the system. In this paper we present PerfMC, a
monitoring system for large clusters. PerfMC is driven by an XML configuration
file, and uses the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) for data
collection. SNMP is a standard protocol implemented by many networked
equipments, so the tool can be used to monitor a wide range of devices. System
administrators can display informations on the status of each device by
connecting to a WEB server embedded in PerfMC. The WEB server can produce
graphs showing the value of different monitored quantities as a function of
time; it can also produce arbitrary XML pages by applying XSL Transformations
to an internal XML representation of the cluster's status. XSL Transformations
may be used to produce HTML pages which can be displayed by ordinary WEB
browsers. PerfMC aims at being relatively easy to configure and operate, and
highly efficient. It is currently being used to monitor the Italian
Reprocessing farm for the BaBar experiment, which is made of about 200 dual-CPU

Augmenting Agent Platforms to Facilitate Conversation Reasoning
Within Multi Agent Systems, communication by means of Agent Communication
Languages (ACLs) has a key role to play in the co-operation, co-ordination and
knowledge-sharing between agents. Despite this, complex reasoning about agent
messaging, and specifically about conversations between agents, tends not to
have widespread support amongst general-purpose agent programming languages.
ACRE (Agent Communication Reasoning Engine) aims to complement the existing
logical reasoning capabilities of agent programming languages with the
capability of reasoning about complex interaction protocols in order to
facilitate conversations between agents. This paper outlines the aims of the
ACRE project and gives details of the functioning of a prototype implementation
within the Agent Factory multi agent framework
