Semi-Parallel Deep Pushdown Automata
This work introduces semi-parallel deep pushdown automata as an extension of sequential deep pushdown automata. Unlike the sequential automaton, a semi-parallel one is able to make expansions of n nonterminal symbols on the pushdown top simultaneously. These automata, same as sequential deep pushdown automata, define the family of languages generated by n-limited state grammars. The advantage of semi-parallel deep pushdown automata lies in higher speed. This work also describes the implementation of an aplication that simulates operation of these automata.

V pratické části je ukázána na jednoduchém příkladu implementace těchto automatů.This thesis introduce two new modifications of deep pushdown automata - stateless deep pushdown automata and parallel deep pushdown automata. Deep Pushdown Automata of Finite Index
This thesis introduces several modifications of deep pushdown automata considering the reduced number of states or non-input symbols. It is shown that the power of deep pushdown automata of finite index is not affected by a limitation of non-input symbols to one, thus these automata characterize an infinite hierarchy of language families resulting from programmed grammars of finite index. Based on a principle of these automata, it is established the normal form of deep pushdown automata. Finally, I introduce generalized deep pushdown automata. They expand the topmost possible non-input symbol in the pushdown. These automata and their reduced forms are equivalent to state grammars.
Program schemes with deep pushdown storage.
Inspired by recent work of Meduna on deep pushdown automata, we consider the computational power of a class of basic program schemes, TeX, based around assignments, while-loops and non- deterministic guessing but with access to a deep pushdown stack which, apart from having the usual push and pop instructions, also has deep-push instructions which allow elements to be pushed to stack locations deep within the stack. We syntactically define sub-classes of TeX by restricting the occurrences of pops, pushes and deep-pushes and capture the complexity classes NP and PSPACE. Furthermore, we show that all problems accepted by program schemes of TeX are in EXPTIME
Parallel Deep Pushdown Automata
This thesis introduces parallel deep pushdown automata as the parallel version of the deep pushdown automata. They are based on the rules, where the automaton can expand n topmost non-terminals in only one derivation step if there are enough non-terminals on the pushdown. The main advantage rests in a fact, that parallel automaton can makde a decission faster.
Number Sequence Prediction Problems for Evaluating Computational Powers of Neural Networks
Inspired by number series tests to measure human intelligence, we suggest
number sequence prediction tasks to assess neural network models' computational
powers for solving algorithmic problems. We define the complexity and
difficulty of a number sequence prediction task with the structure of the
smallest automaton that can generate the sequence. We suggest two types of
number sequence prediction problems: the number-level and the digit-level
problems. The number-level problems format sequences as 2-dimensional grids of
digits and the digit-level problems provide a single digit input per a time
step. The complexity of a number-level sequence prediction can be defined with
the depth of an equivalent combinatorial logic, and the complexity of a
digit-level sequence prediction can be defined with an equivalent state
automaton for the generation rule. Experiments with number-level sequences
suggest that CNN models are capable of learning the compound operations of
sequence generation rules, but the depths of the compound operations are
limited. For the digit-level problems, simple GRU and LSTM models can solve
some problems with the complexity of finite state automata. Memory augmented
models such as Stack-RNN, Attention, and Neural Turing Machines can solve the
reverse-order task which has the complexity of simple pushdown automaton.
However, all of above cannot solve general Fibonacci, Arithmetic or Geometric
sequence generation problems that represent the complexity of queue automata or
Turing machines. The results show that our number sequence prediction problems
effectively evaluate machine learning models' computational capabilities.Comment: Accepted to 2019 AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligenc
Decision Problems for Deterministic Pushdown Automata on Infinite Words
The article surveys some decidability results for DPDAs on infinite words
(omega-DPDA). We summarize some recent results on the decidability of the
regularity and the equivalence problem for the class of weak omega-DPDAs.
Furthermore, we present some new results on the parity index problem for
omega-DPDAs. For the specification of a parity condition, the states of the
omega-DPDA are assigned priorities (natural numbers), and a run is accepting if
the highest priority that appears infinitely often during a run is even. The
basic simplification question asks whether one can determine the minimal number
of priorities that are needed to accept the language of a given omega-DPDA. We
provide some decidability results on variations of this question for some
classes of omega-DPDAs.Comment: In Proceedings AFL 2014, arXiv:1405.527
Silent Transitions in Automata with Storage
We consider the computational power of silent transitions in one-way automata
with storage. Specifically, we ask which storage mechanisms admit a
transformation of a given automaton into one that accepts the same language and
reads at least one input symbol in each step.
We study this question using the model of valence automata. Here, a finite
automaton is equipped with a storage mechanism that is given by a monoid.
This work presents generalizations of known results on silent transitions.
For two classes of monoids, it provides characterizations of those monoids that
allow the removal of \lambda-transitions. Both classes are defined by graph
products of copies of the bicyclic monoid and the group of integers. The first
class contains pushdown storages as well as the blind counters while the second
class contains the blind and the partially blind counters.Comment: 32 pages, submitte
