In these lecture notes I describe some of the main theoretical ideas emerged to explain the aging dynamics. This is meant to be a very short introduction to aging dynamics and no previous knowledge is assumed. I will go through simple examples that allow one to grasp the main results and predictions.Comment: Lecture Notes (22 pages) given at "Unifying Concepts in Glass Physics III", Bangalore (2004); to be published in JSTA

Proposal (500 words): Students would greatly benefit from Open Educational Resources, but how does one gain the support of administration, the library, and faculty to take action and implement an OER program? Advocacy campaigns to raise awareness among students and then to partner with students to advocate for open educational resources and affordable textbooks can be the solution to move from vision to reality. This session will be a crash course into advocacy communication focused on audience, messaging, and framing. Attendees will be presented with communication best practices and examples of student advocacy initiatives. Then attendees will design an advocacy campaign for their campus. Some campaigns will be simple, one-off advocacy actions or events inspired by examples and be able to designed during the session. However, most plans will only be outlined during the session and will need to be fully drafted after the conference. The intended outcome of this interactive presentation is to equip attendees with basic advocacy communication skills and to encourage attendees to take action by leaving the session with established actions to do upon returning to their institution next week, in one month, and in six months. The session will be structured as an introductory 15 minute presentation, 10 minute individual exercise, 15 minute group discussion on developing an advocacy action plan, and ending the last 10 minutes sharing what their next steps and actions will be to advocate for open education resources at their institution
