Use-cases on evolution
This report presents a set of use cases for evolution and reactivity for data in the Web and
Semantic Web. This set is organized around three different case study scenarios, each of them
is related to one of the three different areas of application within Rewerse. Namely, the scenarios
are: “The Rewerse Information System and Portal”, closely related to the work of A3
– Personalised Information Systems; “Organizing Travels”, that may be related to the work
of A1 – Events, Time, and Locations; “Updates and evolution in bioinformatics data sources”
related to the work of A2 – Towards a Bioinformatics Web
Knowledge Acquisition Processes: Understanding The Communication Event
This research project’s two key discoveries offer new insights into Huber’s (1991) KA sub-processes (congenital learning, experimental learning, vicarious learning, grafting, and searching) and understanding the key elements (who, what, when, where, why, and how) of communication events. Organizational leaders and scholars of communication have a better understanding about how one organization’s team of leaders have addressed and responded to the Great Recession of 2008 and the recent explosion of social media in 2003 by practicing a thematic cycle of KA efforts (identification, strategizing, execution, and reflection) to achieve organizational objectives (partners, technologies, and policies) and a strong communication culture to pursue their strategic targets. Further studies about KA in organizations should consider expanding the scope and depth of participants to include functional responsibilities and ethnic differences when evaluating the experiences of global leaders
Testing in the incremental design and development of complex products
Testing is an important aspect of design and development which consumes significant time and resource in many companies. However, it has received less research attention than many other activities in product development, and especially, very few publications report empirical studies of engineering testing. Such studies are needed to establish the importance of testing and inform the development of pragmatic support methods. This paper combines insights from literature study with findings from three empirical studies of testing. The case studies concern incrementally developed complex products in the automotive domain. A description of testing practice as observed in these studies is provided, confirming that testing activities are used for multiple purposes depending on the context, and are intertwined with design from start to finish of the development process, not done after it as many models depict. Descriptive process models are developed to indicate some of the key insights, and opportunities for further research are suggested

Process improvement in the Greek public agencies
The purpose of this research is to explore process improvement in the Greek public agencies. This research is of particular interest because the Greek public sector context has some unique characteristics compared to the public sector of other countries. Firstly, the use of BPR, as a process improvement method to achieve cost reduction and efficiency increase, is politically enforced. This means that it may not be an appropriate process improvement method for the Greek public sector. Secondly, the changes that are taking place in the Greek public sector due to the Troika support mechanism may have an impact on process improvement in the Greek public agencies. These characteristics pave the way for exploring process improvement in the Greek public agencies. The abovementioned characteristics influenced the current research as follows. Given that the research started in January 2009, Document 1 was a research proposal about developing a BPR method for the needs of the Greek public agencies. This idea originated from the fact that Greek Public Administration had announced in 2007 Request for Proposals during the 4th CSF for reengineering its processes and services using BPR method. Greece signed on 6th May 2010 the agreement with Troika in order to fund its liabilities for the period 2010 – 2014
