Перспективний аналіз використання соціальних мереж як засобу навчання в навчальному середовищі

Didactic value of electronic social networks is determined by capabilities to provide group interaction. It is proved that ESN can act as means of collaborative training activities, means of social contacts deployment, extension of all participants’ social interaction in educational process. Attention is paid to emphasis change from network communication to productive discussion and from collaboration to cooperative learning methods for students. The problem of improving of information and communication competence of all learning process partners is described. Possible changes in teaching methodology, when new objects, electronic social networking services appear in the system of education, are examined.Дидактична цінність електронних соціальних мереж визначається через можливості забезпечення групової взаємодії. Доводиться, що ЕСМ можуть стати засобами спільної навчальної діяльності, а також засобами розгортання соціальних контактів та розширення соціальної взаємодії всіх учасників навчально-виховного процесу. Увагу приділено зміні акцентів з комунікації у мережі на організацію продуктивної дискусії, а також з колаборації на кооперативні методи навчання учнів. thesis40 well neonates had blood glucose determinations made at birth, 3-4 hours after birth, 12-18 hours after birth and after 48 hours after birth. Maternal blood glucose was sampled by fingerstick within on half hour of delivery. All blood glucose determinations made using Dextrostix and Ames Reflectance Meter. A general pattern of mean blood glucose level changes for these samples was found. Some interesting variations were identified in relation to sex, time of first feeding and length of labor. A 10 per cent incidence of hypoglycemia was found

Learning from south-south comparison: the education systems of South Africa and Madagascar

The purpose of this investigation was to compare two education systems in the southern hemisphere and particularly from the SADEC countries, namely, Madagascar and South Africa. Research was done by means of field observation as well as through discussions and interviews with role players at regional education offices and schools. Both education systems are not sufficiently adapted to their real educational needs, and learners are not really provided the relevant opportunities to equip themselves with the required competences to function effectively according to their real educational needs. It is concluded that one of the most basic problems of developing education systems in the southern hemisphere could be the tendency of developing education systems to borrow from developed education systems without the localisation thereof. thesisThe present study was designed to increase the amount of data available on content of well child care interviews conducted by physicians and nurses in their expanded role. An effort was made to determine whether observed differences in content emphasis between nurses and physicians were statistically significant. Comments of public health nurses and intern and resident physicians were categorized in on of 15 categories within a conceptual framework consisting of four major domains-physical, learning/thought, social, and inner-and their intersects. Further description of the comments was provided by such miscellaneous categories as clarification-validation, counseling and guidance, rapport, reassurance, open-ended, antagonistic, and un-responded cues. The number of physicians and nurses above and below the median number of comments for the 36 interviews in each category was incorporated into a 2 x 2 chi-square design to determine significance of the differences. There were significant differences between nurses and physicians in the following categories. In the total response and counseling and guidance categories, nurses tended to be above the physicians below the median. Conversely, in the social, 2 (social and inner), 11 (physical, learning/thought, social, and inner), rapport and clarification-validation categories physicians tended to be above and nurses below the median. Both nurses and physicians tended to emphasize the physical domain and neglect the learning/though and inner domains, as well as several of their intersects. Maternal questions reflected minimal expectations for comprehensive well child care. Findings of this study indicate that educational programs intending to prepare health care personnel to provide well child care in the Salt Lake City area should stress the importance of comprehensive health care with particular emphasis on the inner and learning/thought domains. Future research in this area should include replication of this study using nurses with advance educational preparation which emphasized comprehensive well child care. The size of the sample should be increased to amplify the significance of the results

General Education Requirements in a Community College Baccalaureate RN-to-BSN Program

Increasing demand for nurses with bachelor degrees, the growing culture of accountability in higher education, and the community college baccalaureate phenomena provided the impetus for this study. This ex-post facto quantitative study examined the graduation rates and time to degree of 240 students who were enrolled in a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) program at a community college in Florida between Fall of 2002 and Spring of 2004. The general education course enrollment patterns of the students were analyzed to determine if they impacted student graduation rates and time to degree. Graduation rates and time to degree of students who completed all general education requirements before entering the program were compared with the graduation rates and time to degree of students who completed any general education requirements after entering the program. A Pearson Chi-square test for independence indicated the difference between the graduation rates of the two groups was statistically significant, X2 (1, N = 119) = 6.268,

Improving Academic Success: Creating a College Planning Resource for Students

Academic performance of students is a major concern for colleges, especially with the recent COVID-19 pandemic. Research has shown that active involvement, the development of self-regulation skills, and improved mental health all have a considerable impact on college students’ academic success. Colleges like Bowling Green State University need to consider how they can use these factors and leverage resources to improve student performance. In this project, a solution is proposed in the form of a college/personal planner which is directly based off research on early academic success. While further, more specific research is needed to fully understand the issue and how it is affecting BGSU in particular, the implementation of the proposed planner is a viable start towards improving the college learning environment

Thesis (Ph.D.)--Boston UniversityGiven two compact Hausdorff topological spaces X and Y and the corresponding normed rings Rx and Ry of continuous real-valued functions on X and Y, respectively, we consider relationships between the function space Y^X of continuous mappings of X into Y and a certain subset of the function space RxRy of continuous homomorphisms of Ry into Rx. The so concerned subset is the set of all elements of RxRy which map Ry onto analytic subrings of Rx. An analytic subring is a closed subring which contains the constant functions. This subset is denoted by (RxRy)*. [TRUNCATED] As a consequence of the main result we obtain: a necessary and sufficient condition for two mappings f and g of X into Y to be homotopic is that f* and g* be homotopic. Where f and g correspond to f* and g*, respectively, under F. From this we obtain as a corollary: a necessary and sufficient condition that a compact Hausdorff space X be contractible is that the identity isomorphism of Rx onto Rx be homotopic to an homomorphism of Rx onto the constant functions

thesisRecognizing that kernicterus and other forms of brain damage result from high levels of neonatal bilirubinemia, the study sought to determine whether or not a relationship exists between hyperbilirubinemia at levels below 20 mg, %, or those of physiologic jaundice, in full-term, otherwise healthy, infants and visual-motor developmental scores at age six years. The study also described perinatal, familial, and environmental background of the study population in terms of various demographic factor So The study population consisted of 24 white children. Variables were highest total serum bilirubin levels recorded as neonates and scores on the Developmental Test of Visual-Motor Integration administered at six years of age. None of the attempted correlations between newborn total serum bilirubin levels and visual-motor developmental test scores demonstrated a statistically significant relationship, Scores on individual items of the developmental test were also examined. It was noted that the item testing directional confusion was failed at a higher frequency than other items, though not significantly higher than might be expected in the general population. From the study, recommendations for statistical recognition of a multiplicity of perinatal and environmental factors as they may be related to neonatal hyperbilirubinemia and subsequent development are offered
