Change is constant and computing paradigm is no exception. It has witnessed major shifts right from centralized client server systems to widely distributed systems. This time the locus of change in the computing paradigm is moving towards virtualization, paving way to cloud computing. Cloud computing aims at providing computing services to its users as an utility. It allows its authenticated users to access a wide range of highly scalable computing capabilities and services via the internet on a pay-per-usage basis. Organisations not only view these benefits as cost-saving strategies, but also aim at improving the competitive advantages using cloud computing. Hence, this has given rise to a new horizon in IT/IS outsourcing. With a collaboration of cloud computing and outsourcing emerged a new concept called cloudsourcing. Cloudsourcing can be termed as the next generation outsourcing and the next phase of cloud computing promising benefits from both the areas. Cloudsourcing is outsourcing traditional business via the cloud infrastructure. Though there is pompous popularity surrounding this new technology, there is much hesitation in adopting it due to the inherent security issues. This paper discusses in detail the security issues and possible solution to the same. As this is a new concept, not much work is identified to be done in providing a set of guidelines to adopt cloudsourcing that are very specific to information security. This work intends to fill this aperture by building a set of well-defined information security guidelines, which can be termed as a novel. For this purpose, design science research method proposed by Hevner et al is used so as to accomplish this goal. Initially, a literature study is done after which an exploratory study comprising of interviews is done to gather qualitative data. The results of the exploratory interview is tested for correctness and evaluated based on an evaluation study comprising a survey based questionnaire. The analysis of the evaluation study results provides the final results. In such an attempt, the identified countermeasures to risks are classified into three groups namely, organisational, technical and regulatory and compliance guidelines. Hence the end results constituting the set of information security guidelines are classified into the above mentioned groups. This work is assumed to contribute to our understanding of information security in cloudsourcing and in supporting IT decision makers, IT project managers and security executives of organisations for a smooth and secure transition towards cloudsourcing their business

As an asset of Cloud computing, big data is now changing our business models and applications. Rich information residing in big data is driving business decision making to be a data-driven process. Its security and privacy, however, have always been a concern of the owners of the data. The security and privacy could be strengthened via securing Cloud computing environments. This requires a comprehensive security solution from attack prevention to attack detection. Intrusion Detection Systems (IDSs) are playing an increasingly important role within the realm of a set of network security schemes. In this article, we study the vulnerabilities in Cloud computing and propose a collaborative IDS framework to enhance the security and privacy of big data

Cyber security is the practice of protecting systems, networks, and programs from digital attacks. These cyber-attacks are usually aimed at accessing, changing, or destroying sensitive information; extorting money from users; or interrupting normal business processes. Cloud computing has emerged from the legacy data centres. Consequently, threats applicable in legacy system are equally applicable to cloud computing along with emerging new threats that plague only the cloud systems. Traditionally the data centres were hosted on-premises. Hence, control over the data was comparatively easier than handling a cloud system which is borderless and ubiquitous. Threats due to multi-tenancy, access from anywhere, control of cloud, etc. are some examples of why cloud security becomes important. Considering the significance of cloud security, this work is an attempt to understand the existing cloud service and deployment models, and the major threat factors to cloud security that may be critical in cloud environment

Cloud computing has promised to transform the ways in which we use and interact with information technology (IT). The claims of significant benefits for businesses by using cloud systems are being overshadowed with the increased concerns about security, particularly privacy. This paper explores the unresolved concerns that businesses and users are still facing in terms of ensuring their data remains secure within a cloud environment. Through illustrating these issues with recent security breaches, the evidence clearly suggests they are hindering cloud adoption. Unless more focus is placed on security then cloud platforms are unable achieve cost saving benefits, improved efficiency or performance for a business. This paper argues that rather than cloud computing reaching its potential there are still remaining issues that must be addressed

Cloud computing is one of the trending technologies that provide boundless virtualized resources to the internet users as an important services through the internet, while providing the privacy and security. By using these cloud services, internet users get many parallel computing resources at low cost. It predicted that till 2016, revenues from the online business management spent $4 billion for data storage. Cloud is an open source platform structure, so it is having more chances to malicious attacks. Privacy, confidentiality, and security of stored data are primary security challenges in cloud computing. In cloud computing, ‘virtualization' is one of the techniques dividing memory into different blocks. In most of the existing systems there is only single authority in the system to provide the encrypted keys. To fill the few security issues, this paper proposed a novel authenticated trust security model for secure virtualization system to encrypt the files. The proposed security model achieves the following functions: 1) allotting the VSM(VM Security Monitor) model for each virtual machine; 2) providing secret keys to encrypt and decrypt information by symmetric encryption. The contribution is a proposed architecture that provides a workable security that a cloud service provider can offer to its consumers. Detailed analysis and architecture design presented to elaborate security model

© 2018 IEEE. Cloud computing architecture and infrastructure has received an acceptance from corporations and governments across the globe. Cloud computing helped to reduce cost of management of physical and technical infrastructure at the same time has made information systems available for locally globally deployed work force. Cloud computing infrastructure provides access to data and applications from any location and this has made organizations to keep evaluating privacy and security framework. Banking and financial services have data and applications which are internally developed to remain ahead of competition. This data and applications becomes the Intellectual Property (IP) that serves specific business processes and goals. When this data and applications can be accessed from remote locations, there may be a potential risks of data leakages and erosion of IP over a period of time. With an adoption of cloud computing, banking and financial services industry continues to be under strict regulatory and compliance framework to maintain privacy of data and security of systems. Privacy and security of cloud architecture infrastructure continues to be the challenge across the globe. In this paper, various aspects of cloud computing related to data privacy and system security for banking and financial services industry have been introduced

Internship Report presented as the partial requirement for obtaining a Master's degree in Information Management, specialization in Knowledge Management and Business IntelligenceNowadays every enterprise wants to be competitive. In the last decade, the data volumes are increased dramatically. As each year data in the market increases, the ability to extract, analyze and manage the data become the backbone condition for the organization to be competitive. In this condition, organizations need to adapt their technologies to the new business reality in order to be competitive and provide new solutions that meet new requests. Business Intelligence by the main definition is the ability to extract analyze and manage the data through which an organization gain a competitive advantage. Before using this approach, it’s important to decide on which computing system it will base on, considering the volume of data, business context of the organization and technologies requirements of the market. In the last 10 years, the popularity of cloud computing increased and divided the computing Systems into On-Premises and cloud. The cloud benefits are based on providing scalability, availability and fewer costs. On another hand, traditional On-Premises provides independence of software configuration, control over data and high security. The final decision as to which computing paradigm to follow in the organization it’s not an easy task as well as depends on the business context of the organization, and the characteristics of the performance of the current On-Premises systems in business processes. In this case, Business Intelligence functions and requires in-depth analysis in order to understand if cloud computing technologies could better perform in those processes than traditional systems. The objective of this internship is to conduct a comparative study between 2 computing systems in Business Intelligence routine functions. The study will compare the On-Premises Business Intelligence Based on Oracle Architecture with Cloud Business Intelligence based on Google Cloud Services. A comparative study will be conducted through participation in activities and projects in the Business Intelligence department, of a company that develops software digital solutions to serve the telecommunications market for 12 months, as an internship student in the 2nd year of a master’s degree in Information Management, with a specialization in Knowledge Management and Business Intelligence at Nova Information Management School (NOVA IMS)
