Applying the ISO 9126 Quality Model to Test Specifications – Exemplified for TTCN-3 Test Specifications
Abstract: Quality models are needed to evaluate and set goals for the quality of a software product. The international ISO/IEC standard 9126 defines a general quality model for software products. Software is developed in different domains and the usage of the ISO/IEC quality model requires an instantiation for each concrete domain. One special domain is the development and maintenance of test specifications. Test specifications for testing, e.g. the Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) or the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), reach sizes of more than 40.000 lines of test code. Such large test specifications require strict quality assurance. In this paper, we present an adaptation of the ISO/IEC 9126 quality model to test specifications and show its instantiation for test specifications written in the Testing and Test Control Notation (TTCN-3). Example measurements of the standardised SIP test suite demonstrate the applicability of our approach.
Data Model Pattern for Data Warehouse Web Application of Information Portal (Case Study: Hidyatullah Integrated Islamic Boarding School, Banyuasin Regency)
Data warehouse is a collection of data that is subject-oriented, integrated, timevariant, and non-volatile which can be
used to produce useful information for management decision making. In an information system, there are a lot of
information that accommodated by both internal and external parties. Over time the amount of information has
increased. For that we need a way to accommodate a lot of data in a data warehouse. One way to produce a good data
model is to use the data model pattern. In this study, a data model pattern will be applied to the web application of
information portal in the Hidayatullah Islamic boarding school in Banyuasin Regency. This software was taken as
research material because the business process is quite varied and can describe the activities of all academicians in the
Hidayatullah integrated Islamic boarding school, Banyuasin district. With well-structured data, the distribution of
information to the general public will be faster and more accurate
ANÁLISIS COMPARATIVO DE MODELOS Y ESTÁNDARES PARA EVALUAR LA CALIDAD DEL PRODUCTO DE SOFTWARE
En el presente trabajo de investigación se pretende plantear un análisis comparativo de
modelos y estándares sobre evaluar la calidad del producto software, tomando como
referencia una empresa de desarrollo de software, a fin de determinar los componentes de
evaluación que esta toma en cuenta, de acuerdo a los requerimientos que sus clientes le
formulan. La calidad del software desde toda perspectiva compleja y muchas veces tomada
de manera subjetiva, dista mucho de ello, ya que se basa en modelos y métricas que intentan
determinar distintos aspectos que afectan el proceso de desarrollo y la presentación del
producto software como tal.
El resultado a presentar en lo referente a la medición y evaluación de componentes para la
calidad de software. aportarán al mejoramiento del software en su elaboración y posterior
desempeño dentro de un escenario empresarial; consecuentemente se busca un incremento
de la competitividad de quienes desarrollan productos software en la presentación de
mejores las aplicaciones y sistemas competitivos en un mundo globalizado.
La espera explícita a las características de la casta del programa puede acarrear a ahorros
significativos en los costos del ciclo de trascendencia del software. El estamento verdadero
del programa impone limitaciones específicas a nuestro alcance de determinar de modo

Identificación de mejores prácticas de calidad para el desarrollo de software para ser implementadas en los procesos de formación de la media técnica en programación - Alianza Futuro Digital Medellín
Este proyecto centró la atención en la identificación de buenas prácticas de calidad para el desarrollo de software, centradas en el proceso y no en el producto de software, viables de ser incorporadas en la formación de los estudiantes de la media técnica en informática y programación en instituciones de educación básica y media pertenecientes a la Alianza Futuro Digital Medellín; esto con el fin de aportar elementos significativos en la formación técnica, que se verán reflejados en la calidad del producto software -- Para ello, se validaron las prácticas más reconocidas en el sector, respecto a su implementación cotidiana en las empresas de software -- En esta actividad participaron empresas de software de la ciudad de Medellín, vinculadas a la Alianza Futuro Digital -- Como resultado de este proceso, se identificaron aquellas prácticas más frecuentes en su aplicación, y se llevaron a un instrumento para sugerir su incorporación didáctica y metodológica en los currículos de la media técnica en informática y programación de las instituciones de educación básica y media pertenecientes a la Alianza Futuro Digital Medellí

Web-based system for outcome analysis and modification in laser vision correction
Refractive laser eye surgery is a specialised field in ophthalmology which aims to correct the refractive disorder of an eye. The most established technique is LASIK, which has shown good results for the treatment of simple myopia. Complex refractive disorders, such as compound myopic astigmatism, have shown less predictable refractive outcomes, and in some cases the severe over- or under-correction can even worsen the preoperative situation and damage the eye.
In its first stage, this research aimed to develop a software system able to present and analyse refractive outcomes. Over 2 prototype stages, this research has led to an operational system named IBRA (Internet Based Refractive Analysis), offering web-based data collection and refractive and vector analysis.
In a second stage, Nomogram calculation formulas were developed and integrated into IBRA. These formulas were created from linear regression and best-fit analyses of spherical and cylindrical outcome data stored in IBRA. The purpose of the nomogram calculations was to provide surgeons with adjustment factors that could be used to improve the refractive outcome of patients with complex refractive disorders.
Two extensive clinical audits and a randomized controlled trial were performed at Moorfields Eye Hospital to evaluate the IBRA nomogram adjustments. This research showed that IBRA was able to achieve a positive health change. In addition, results from the audits and trial contributed to the knowledge of nomogram adjustments and provided a framework in which future investigations on nomogram and treatment modifications could be performed.
In addition to the above clinical studies, two evaluations were performed with the use of IBRA and data logging techniques to investigate users‟ behaviour relating to the management of data entry processes and the use of analysis functions. This research revealed the best method for entering refractive data, and was able to identify the most important analysis methods.
Finally, the use of IBRA and its user-interface were investigated with a user satisfaction survey. The results from this questionnaire based study showed a high acceptance of the web-based platform of IBRA and indicated points for improvement (Documentation)
