    Your Teammate Just Sent You a New Message! The Effects of Using Telegram on Individual Acquisition of Teamwork Competence

    Students’ acquisition of teamwork competence has become a priority for educational institutions. The development of teamwork competence in education generally relies in project-based learning methodologies and challenges. The assessment of teamwork in project-based learning involves, among others, assessing students’ participation and the interactions between team members. Project-based learning can easily be handled in small-size courses, but course management and teamwork assessment become a burdensome task for instructors as the size of the class increases. Additionally, when project-based learning happens in a virtual space, such as online learning, interactions occur in a less natural way. This study explores the use of instant messaging apps (more precisely, the use of Telegram) as team communication space in project-based learning, using a learning analytics tool to extract and analyze student interactions. Further, the study compares student interactions (e.g., number of messages exchanged) and individual teamwork competence acquisition between traditional asynchronous (e.g., LMS message boards) and synchronous instant messaging communication environments. The results show a preference of students for IM tools and increased participation in the course. However, the analysis does not find significant improvement in the acquisition of individual teamwork competence

    Given research describes experience of electronic social networks use in educational practices. It was determined that electronic social networks can be a powerful tool for support of educational process in higher education institutions, namely to support study of different disciplines. There are main advantages of electronic social networks use for education: universal accessibility and free of charge; possibility of instant messaging and multimedia data; user-friendly intuitive interface; ability to search data and information; availability of event scheduling, invitations, reminder settings; support for synchronous and asynchronous communication between network members; access from different devices. It is emphasized that one of the main advantages of electronic social networks is receipt of quick feedback and convenience of their tools and services. Nowadays, it is important to include network educational interaction in existing models of study organization. It is advisable to use electronic social networks to manage educational process in higher education institution. Efficiency of electronic social networks use depends on intensity and need for their use in educational system management for implementation of organizational, educational, psychological and pedagogical functions and ensuring universal communication with subjects of educational process. Expediency of electronic social networks use to carry out research work at university is described. Electronic social networks are convenient tool to conduct surveys and questionnaires, to create thematic groups for specific issue discussion. Also it is possible to interact with researchers from different countries, share experiences and disseminate research findings, invite those who wish to participate in various scientific activities using these networks

    [EN]Active educational methodologies promote students to take an active role in their own learning, enhance cooperative work, and develop a collective understanding of the subject as a common learning area. Cloud Computing enables the learning space to be supported while also revolutionizing it by allowing it to be used as a link between active methodology and students’ learning activities. A Cloud Computing system is used in conjunction with an active methodology to recognize and manage individual, group, and collective evidence of the students’ work in this research. The key hypothesis shown in this work is that if evidence management is made clear and evidence is consistently and gradually presented to students, their level of involvement will increase, and their learning outcomes will improve. The model was implemented in a university subject of a first academic year using the active Flipped Classroom methodology, and the individual, group and collective evidence is constantly worked with throughout the implementation of a teamwork method

    Determine the technological and didactic strategies to improve the ability of "speaking" in the senior students at "Alberto Enríquez," high school in the academic period 2021.El presente trabajo de investigación fue desarrollado con el objetivo de determinar las estrategias tecnológicas y didácticas que los maestros del área de inglés utilizan para fortalecer la habilidad de speaking en sus estudiantes. El tema de investigación partió desde la problemática del déficit de utilización de estrategias tecnológicas en el desarrollo de habilidades académicas. La investigación se llevó acabo en la Unidad Educativa "Alberto Enríquez" de la cuidad de Atuntaqui en el período académico 2021. Para la recopilación de datos se aplicaron dos tipos de instrumentos con enfoques cualitativos y cuantitativos respectivamente. La fundamentación teórica que dará soporte al desarrollo de esta investigación está cimentada en las estrategias de métodos y enfoques aplicables a la educación actual. En la fase de recolección de información participaron maestros del área y estudiantes de tercer año de bachillerato. En base a los resultados obtenidos se puede concluir que; los maestros del área de inglés no utilizan con frecuencia estrategias tecnológicas que faciliten y motiven a los estudiantes en la adquisición de un segundo idioma. Por lo que, es necesario el desarrollo de una guía de estrategias tecnológicas y didácticas enfocadas en el fortalecimiento de la habilidad de speaking en los estudiantes. Por ello, el objetivo principal de la propuesta es desarrollar una guía detallada en la que los maestros encontrarán estrategias, actividades y herramientas tecnológicas útiles para ser incorporadas en sus planes de clase con la finalidad de lograr el fortalecimiento de esta habilidad.Licenciatur

Esta investigación presenta una guia para docentes que desean incluir estrategias de lectura las cuales pueden ser implementadas atravez del uso del WhatsApp como herramienta tecnologica para llegar a los estudiantes y realizar actividades de lectura. Este estudio fue realizado con noventa y cuatro estudiantes que se encontraban en bachillerato, y con tres maestros que ayudaron a recolectar información cuantitativa relacionada a estrategias de lectura y el uso del whatsapp; estudio realizado en una institución publica rural en la provincia de Imbabura en el cantón Antonio Ante. Además, se siguió un diseño investigativo descriptivo no experimental. La propuesta de este trabajo investigativo estuvo enfocada a la creación de estrategias de lectura y de una guía para que el docente realice actividades que incluyan estrategias de lectura con el uso del WhatsApp. El modelo de esta propuesta es flexible y puede ser adaptado a cualquier material que se quiera utilizar con la herramienta tecnológica.Maestrí

    M-Learning in the development of speaking skills

    This research with the name “M-Learning in the Development of English Speaking Skills in First Baccalaureate Students at Marco Aurelio Subía Martínez - Batalla De Panupali Educative Unit”. Has as the main objective to analyze Mobile learning in the development of speaking. The research was descriptive, qualitative, and not experimental. It was descriptive because it was described both variables (M-learning and speaking skills) in the theoretical framework, moreover, M-learning influences speaking skills. Besides, the research carried out a qualitative approach to analyze and describe the results obtained by the survey; the technique applied in this study, whose instrument was a questionnaire thus, it was identified the lack of use of mobile devices with educational purposes in English classes. To validate the proposal, which was a booklet entitled “M-learning to develop speaking skills”. It was applied a checklist as a technique and a questionnaire as an instrument to three experts and two users; the results affirmed that mobile applications could positively influence the development of speaking skills. Finally, the researcher socialized the proposal with his English colleagues. To conclude the four interactive applications used in the proposal and based on practicing, interacting, learning vocabulary and grammatical structures were very attractive and interesting for teachers, thus, being useful curricular tools in the teaching and learning of the English language in the classrooms.Esta investigación con el nombre “Aprendizaje móvil en el desarrollo de las destrezas del hablar inglés en los estudiantes de Primer año de Bachillerato de la Unidad Educativa Marco Aurelio Subía-Batalla de Panupali”, tiene como objetivo principal analizar el aprendizaje móvil en el desarrollo del habla. La investigación fue descriptiva, cualitativa y no experimental. Fue descriptiva porque se describió ambas variables (Aprendizaje móvil y destreza del habla) en la revisión literaria. Además, la investigación llevo a cabo un enfoque cualitativo para analizar y describir los resultados obtenidos en la encuesta, técnica aplicada en la investigación, cuyo instrumento fue un cuestionario así, se identificó la falta de uso de dispositivos móviles con fines educativos en las clases de inglés. Para validar la propuesta el cual fue un folleto titulado “Aprendizaje móvil para desarrollar el habla”, se aplicó una lista de cotejo como técnica y un cuestionario como instrumento a tres expertos y dos usuarios, los resultados afirmaron que las aplicaciones móviles pueden influenciar positivamente en el desarrollo del habla. Finalmente, el investigador socializó la propuesta con sus docentes colegas de Ingles. Para concluir las cuatro aplicaciones interactivas usadas en la propuesta y basadas en la práctica, interacción, aprendizaje de vocabulario y estructura gramatical fueron muy atractivas e interesantes para los docentes. Así, convirtiéndose en herramientas curriculares muy útiles en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de idioma inglés en las aulas

Визначено, що електронні соціальні мережі можуть бути потужним допоміжними засобами для підтримування освітнього процесу закладів вищої освіти, а саме для підтримування вивчення різних навчальних дисциплін. Основними перевагами застосування електронних соціальних мереж для освіти є: загальна доступність та безкоштовність; можливість оперативного обміну повідомленнями й мультимедійними даними; зручний інтуїтивно-зрозумілий інтерфейс; можливість пошуку даних та відомостей; наявність функцій планування подій, розсилки запрошень, налаштування нагадувань; підтримка синхронної та асинхронної комунікації між учасниками мережі; можливість доступу з різних пристроїв. Наголошено, що однією з основних переваг електронних соціальних мереж є отримання швидкого зворотнього зв’язку та зручність їх інструментів і сервісів. Нині, важливим є включення мережної освітньої взаємодії в діючі моделі організації навчання. Обгрунтовано, що доцільним є застосування електронних соціальних мереж для управління освітнім процесом закладу вищої освіти. Ефективність використання електронних соціальних мереж залежить від інтенсивності та потреби їх використання в управлінні освітньою системою для реалізації: організаційних, виховних, психолого-педагогічних функцій та забезпечення повсюдної комунікації з суб’єктами освітнього процесу. Описано доцільність застосування електронних соціальних мереж для виконання науково-дослідної роботи в університеті. Електронні соціальні мережі є зручним засобом для проведення опитувань і анкетувань, створень тематичних груп з метою обговорення певної проблеми, можна аналізувати дані з персональної сторінки користувача і визначати його соціально-психологічний портрет. Також, завдяки цим мережам, можна взаємодіяти між дослідниками з різних країн та обмінюватися досвідом і розповсюджувати результати досліджень, запрошувати бажаючих для участі у різних наукових заходах та ін
