Constraint-wish and satisfied-dissatisfied: an overview of two approaches for dealing with bipolar querying

    Get PDF
In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in dealing with user preferences in flexible database querying, expressing both positive and negative information in a heterogeneous way. This is what is usually referred to as bipolar database querying. Different frameworks have been introduced to deal with such bipolarity. In this chapter, an overview of two approaches is given. The first approach is based on mandatory and desired requirements. Hereby the complement of a mandatory requirement can be considered as a specification of what is not desired at all. So, mandatory requirements indirectly contribute to negative information (expressing what the user does not want to retrieve), whereas desired requirements can be seen as positive information (expressing what the user prefers to retrieve). The second approach is directly based on positive requirements (expressing what the user wants to retrieve), and negative requirements (expressing what the user does not want to retrieve). Both approaches use pairs of satisfaction degrees as the underlying framework but have different semantics, and thus also different operators for criteria evaluation, ranking, aggregation, etc

Blended intelligence of FCA with FLC for knowledge representation from clustered data in medical analysis

Formal concept analysis is the process of data analysis mechanism with emergent attractiveness across various fields such as data mining, robotics, medical, big data and so on. FCA is helpful to generate the new learning ontology based techniques. In medical field, some growing kids are facing the problem of representing their knowledge from their gathered prior data which is in the form of unordered and insufficient clustered data which is not supporting them to take the right decision on right time for solving the uncertainty based questionnaires. In the approach of decision theory, many mathematical replicas such as probability-allocation, crisp set, and fuzzy based set theory were designed to deals with knowledge representation based difficulties along with their characteristic. This paper is proposing new ideological blended approach of FCA with FLC and described with major objectives: primarily the FCA analyzes the data based on relationships between the set of objects of prior-attributes and the set of attributes based prior-data, which the data is framed with data-units implicated composition which are formal statements of idea of human thinking with conversion of significant intelligible explanation. Suitable rules are generated to explore the relationship among the attributes and used the formal concept analysis from these suitable rules to explore better knowledge and most important factors affecting the decision making. Secondly how the FLC derive the fuzzification, rule-construction and defuzzification methods implicated for representing the accurate knowledge for uncertainty based questionnaires. Here the FCA is projected to expand the FCA based conception with help of the objective based item set notions considered as the target which is implicated with the expanded cardinalities along with its weights which is associated through the fuzzy based inference decision rules. This approach is more helpful for medical experts for knowing the range of patient’s memory deficiency also for people whose are facing knowledge explorer deficiency

Welcome into my scientific lab! My lab[oratory] is a virtual facility with noncontrolled conditions in which I mostly perform scientific meditation and chats: a nest of ideas (nidus idearum, in Latin). I called the jottings herein scilogs (truncations of the words scientific, and gr. Λόγος – appealing rather to its original meanings ground , opinion , expectation ), combining the welly of both science and informal (via internet) talks (in English, French, and Romanian). * In this third book of scilogs collected from my nest of ideas, one may find new and old questions and solutions, referring to topics on NEUTROSOPHY – email messages to research colleagues, or replies, notes about authors, articles, or books, so on. Feel free to budge in or just use the scilogs as open source for your own ideas! * Neutrosophy is a new branch of philosophy which studies the origin, nature, and scope of neutralities, as well as their interactions with different ideational spectra. I coined the words “neutrosophy” and “neutrosophic” in my 1998 book: Florentin Smarandache, Neutrosophy. Neutrosophic Probability, Set, and Logic, ProQuest Information & Learning, Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA, 105 p., 1998; http://fs.gallup.unm.edu/eBook-neutrosophics6.pdf (last edition online)

This is the first volume of the Encyclopedia of Neutrosophic Researchers, edited from materials offered by the authors who responded to the editor’s invitation. The authors are listed alphabetically. The introduction contains a short history of neutrosophics, together with links to the main papers and books. Neutrosophic set, neutrosophic logic, neutrosophic probability, neutrosophic statistics, neutrosophic measure, neutrosophic precalculus, neutrosophic calculus and so on are gaining significant attention in solving many real life problems that involve uncertainty, impreciseness, vagueness, incompleteness, inconsistent, and indeterminacy. In the past years the fields of neutrosophics have been extended and applied in various fields, such as: artificial intelligence, data mining, soft computing, decision making in incomplete / indeterminate / inconsistent information systems, image processing, computational modelling, robotics, medical diagnosis, biomedical engineering, investment problems, economic forecasting, social science, humanistic and practical achievements

G-CPT Symmetry of Quantum Emergence and Submergence -- An Information Conservational Multiagent Cellular Automata Unification of CPT Symmetry and CP Violation for Equilibrium-Based Many-World Causal Analysis of Quantum Coherence and Decoherence

An equilibrium-based YinYang bipolar dynamic Generalization of CPT (G -CPT) symmetry is introduced based on energy/information conservational quantum emergence-submergence. As a bottleneck of quantum computing, quantum decoherence or collapse has been plaguing quantum mechanics for decades. It is suggested that the crux of the problem can trace its origin back to the incompleteness of CPT symmetry due to the lack of holistic representation for equilibrium-based bipolar coexistence. In this work, the notion of quantum emergence-submergence is coined as two opposite processes with bipolar energy/information conservation. The new notion leads to G-CPT symmetry supported by a Bipolar Quantum Cellular Automata (BQCA) interpretation of quantum mechanics. It is shown that the new interpretation further leads to the unification of electromagnetic particle- antiparticle bipolarity and gravitational action-reaction bipolarity as well as CPT symmetry and CP violation into a philosophically, geometrically and logically different quantum gravity theory. On one hand, G -CPT symmetry enables a Bipolar Quantum Agent (BQA) to emerge as a bipolar quantum superposition or entanglement coupled to a globally coherent BQCA; on the other hand, G -CP violation supports a causal theory of BQA submergence or decoupling from the global coherence. In turn, BQAs can submerge from one world but emerge in another within YinYang bipolar quantum geometry. It is suggested t hat all logical, physical, social, biological and mental worlds are bipolar quantum entangled under G -CPT symmetry. It is contended that G -CPT symmetry constitutes an analytical paradigm of quantum mechanics and quantum gravity— a fundamental departure from “what goes around comes around ”. The new paradigm leads to a number of predictions and challenges
