More on discrete convexity
In several recent papers some concepts of convex analysis were extended to
discrete sets. This paper is one more step in this direction. It is well known
that a local minimum of a convex function is always its global minimum. We
study some discrete objects that share this property and provide several
examples of convex families related to graphs and to two-person games in normal
form

Geometric, Algebraic, and Topological Combinatorics
The 2019 Oberwolfach meeting "Geometric, Algebraic and Topological Combinatorics"
was organized by Gil Kalai (Jerusalem), Isabella Novik (Seattle),
Francisco Santos (Santander), and Volkmar Welker (Marburg). It covered
a wide variety of aspects of Discrete Geometry, Algebraic Combinatorics
with geometric flavor, and Topological Combinatorics. Some of the
highlights of the conference included (1) Karim Adiprasito presented his
very recent proof of the -conjecture for spheres (as a talk and as a "Q\&A"
evening session) (2) Federico Ardila gave an overview on "The geometry of matroids",
including his recent extension with Denham and Huh of previous work of Adiprasito, Huh and Katz
Digraph Coloring Games and Game-Perfectness
In this thesis the game chromatic number of a digraph is introduced as a game-theoretic variant of the dichromatic number. This notion generalizes the well-known game chromatic number of a graph. An extended model also takes into account relaxed colorings and asymmetric move sequences. Game-perfectness is defined as a game-theoretic variant of perfectness of a graph, and is generalized to digraphs. We examine upper and lower bounds for the game chromatic number of several classes of digraphs. In the last part of the thesis, we characterize game-perfect digraphs with small clique number, and prove general results concerning game-perfectness. Some results are verified with the help of a computer program that is discussed in the appendix
