Towards a Holistic Approach to Designing Theory-based Mobile Health Interventions
Increasing evidence has shown that theory-based health behavior change
interventions are more effective than non-theory-based ones. However, only a
few segments of relevant studies were theory-based, especially the studies
conducted by non-psychology researchers. On the other hand, many mobile health
interventions, even those based on the behavioral theories, may still fail in
the absence of a user-centered design process. The gap between behavioral
theories and user-centered design increases the difficulty of designing and
implementing mobile health interventions. To bridge this gap, we propose a
holistic approach to designing theory-based mobile health interventions built
on the existing theories and frameworks of three categories: (1) behavioral
theories (e.g., the Social Cognitive Theory, the Theory of Planned Behavior,
and the Health Action Process Approach), (2) the technological models and
frameworks (e.g., the Behavior Change Techniques, the Persuasive System Design
and Behavior Change Support System, and the Just-in-Time Adaptive
Interventions), and (3) the user-centered systematic approaches (e.g., the
CeHRes Roadmap, the Wendel's Approach, and the IDEAS Model). This holistic
approach provides researchers a lens to see the whole picture for developing
mobile health interventions
Point-Of-Sales Systems in Food and Beverage Industry: Efficient Technology and Its User Acceptance
The objective of the study was to review the factors that influence the acceptance of the points of sales (POS) technology, as the main systems used in the restaurants environment. It is critical that those POS perceived as proper use for the business growth and development. A conceptual framework is explained by the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), were reviewed 28 research articles associated with the acceptance of the points of sales (POS) technology. The literature evidence found indicates the acceptance of POS systems in the F&B industry, including those factors which may affect its implementation and use. Attitude toward POS is affected by individual differences, times, training and company supports. Perceived usefulness of the POS is influenced by information quality, benefits information. The perceived ease of use of the POS is influence by enjoyment. Therefore, that strategy implementation, employee learning, ethical decisions, positive employeemanagement relationship, and personalization level are factors that support technology acceptance
CHORUS Deliverable 2.2: Second report - identification of multi-disciplinary key issues for gap analysis toward EU multimedia search engines roadmap
After addressing the state-of-the-art during the first year of Chorus and establishing the existing landscape in
multimedia search engines, we have identified and analyzed gaps within European research effort during our second year.
In this period we focused on three directions, notably technological issues, user-centred issues and use-cases and socio-
economic and legal aspects. These were assessed by two central studies: firstly, a concerted vision of functional breakdown
of generic multimedia search engine, and secondly, a representative use-cases descriptions with the related discussion on
requirement for technological challenges. Both studies have been carried out in cooperation and consultation with the
community at large through EC concertation meetings (multimedia search engines cluster), several meetings with our
Think-Tank, presentations in international conferences, and surveys addressed to EU projects coordinators as well as
National initiatives coordinators. Based on the obtained feedback we identified two types of gaps, namely core
technological gaps that involve research challenges, and “enablers”, which are not necessarily technical research
challenges, but have impact on innovation progress. New socio-economic trends are presented as well as emerging legal
challenges
Floating Banner Blindness on Mobile Device: An Experimental Approach Using Neuroscientific Methods
A neuroscience approach to human behavior sometimes give us insightful lessons differentiated from conventional approach does. Floating ad is a type of advertisements in which a user must click (touch) a close button in a state in which the content is hidden. There has been controversy over whether floating ads are effective ad formats. there are few research considering mobile environments. The purpose of this study is to discover cognitive and emotional response on floating advertisements on smartphones. We measure consumers\u27 cognitive and emotional responses using eye tracking and EEG simultaneously. The experiment will be designed to happen under the most realistic conditions. The experiment will be conducted inside the closed room at laboratory. A news web page will be displayed on the iPhone 6S screen. We expect that this approach will provide information about psychological reactions that users do not consciously realiz
Empirical investigation on continuous usage of mobile video technology by customers in China: An extended TAM
Mobile usage in the field of mobile payment, mobile e-commerce, and mobile gaming have increased considerably in China, however the usage of mobile videos has not been increasing considerably. Thus, the main purpose of this study is to investigate the continuous usage of mobile video technology by the customers in China. Quantitative research method was applied to get an appropriate view of customers using social media as the mode of interactions in China. Additionally, SPSS 22.0 & SmartPLS 3 to offer statistical evidence that the relationship among the constructs would be statistically significant. This research findings has indicated several important findings regarding the interrelationships between quality dimensions, service quality from the customers' perspective, their satisfaction, service, system and information quality and intention for future service usage, the results have enhanced the understanding of the service quality, system quality and information quality of the media industry of China, especially for the young generation who are heavily influenced by technology. From the management’s perspective, management practices need to be taken into consideration as they also affect customer perceptions of service quality. Managers of service quality need to develop practices which help in managing employees and service processes. (Abstract by authors
Mobile agent based knowledge management in education system
This paper looks into delivering a Mobile Agent Based Knowledge Management System in Education System. Firstly the paper looks at reviewing the issues that are occurring in Knowledge Management System. A proposed system structure is made to show how a mobile agent works and is used in education system.
XML Metadata with Aglet is used here for faster retrieval of data. A security framework is also presented to look at protecting a distributed network from malicious mobile agents. We also recommended an intelligent search module for the agent to search the

A Systematic Review of User Mental Models on Applications Sustainability
In Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), a user’s mental model affects application sustainability. This study's goal is to find and assess previous work in the area of user mental models and how it relates to the sustainability of application. Thus, a systematic review process was used to identify 641 initial articles, which were then screened based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. According to the review, it has been observed that the mental model of a user has an impact on the creation of applications not only within the domain of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), but also in other domains such as Enterprise Innovation Ecology, Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI), Information Systems (IS), and various others. The examined articles discussed company managers' difficulties in prioritising innovation and ecology, and the necessity to understand users' mental models to build and evaluate intelligent systems. The reviewed articles mostly used experimental, questionnaire, observation, and interviews, by applying either qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-method methodologies. This study highlights the importance of user mental models in application sustainability, where developers may create apps that suit user demands, fit with cognitive psychology principles, and improve human-AI collaboration by understanding user mental models. This study also emphasises the importance of user mental models in the long-term viability and sustainability of applications, and provides significant insights for application developers and researchers in building more user-centric and sustainable applications
