A post-secondary curriculum guide for teaching word processing with microcomputers
In an attempt to deal with the paperwork explosion occurring in business offices, administrative management has developed the concept of word processing as a means of increasing office efficiency. In business education departments of educational institutions word processing has become a confusing term. Too often it is use solely as a synonym for certain types of electronic equipment. According to Frank (10:22) it is the responsibility of educators to instill into the students the idea of a process and a procedure. Word processing is the application of it to the office. Modern technology has been applied to every other facet of business. Word Processing involves reexamining the entire chain of events from word origination to production of the finished document. It is a systematic method of converting ideas into written form

The present status and future trends of business education programs in Nebraska public high schools
Curriculum and instruction decision making is a complex problem. Many attempts have been made in the past two decades to develop new curriculum and instructional techniques which the proponents of such programs and procedures hoped would be adopted by schools throughout the nation. In many cases, however, such hopes were never realized since the classroom teacherp were unwilling or unable to use the new approaches. Thus a more realistic picture of what is currently happening or what will happen in any curriculum area can be better determined by finding out what classroom teachers anticipate than by relying on the prediction of national experts. The data and findings of this study will provide information about what the business teachers in the state feel will be taking place in their classrooms in the next five years. Such information will provide business education curriculum developers with an indication of how those in the field view curriculum and instructional changes. It will also provide a baseline against which data obtained\u27in future surveys can be computed

Michael E. Fisher - teacher, mentor, colleague and friend: a (very) personal account
The only rational way of educating is to be an example. If one cant help it,
a warning example. Albert Einstein. I had the good fortune and privilege of
having Michael Fisher as my teacher, supervisor, mentor and friend. During my
years as a scientist, teacher and supervisor of about one hundred students and
post docs I found myself innumerable times realizing that I am following or at
least trying to follow Michaels example. These pages are my attempt to convey
recollections of my association with Michael, focusing on how he served as an
example for me.Comment: 13 pages, 2 figures, Michael Fisher Memorial volum
