Quality control improvement at Jana DCS Sdn. Bhd.
Jana DCS Sdn. Bhd. is one of the companies that run the service of air conditioning system supply in Nusajaya, Johor, Malaysia. Quality improvement is one of the most important part when talking about a company, mostly companies that operate in service industries. Quality control plays the major parts in quality improvement as quality control is an operational technique to ensure efficient and effective operation.
Roughly, total net area cooled by Jana DCS Sdn. Bhd. is 590,000 square feet as for Johor State Government Administration Centre. While for Puteri Harbour, the total net area cooled is 614,000 square feet. Jana DCS Sdn. Bhd. operates Iskandar Malaysia’s first district cooling plant, with both thermal energy and chilled water storage capability that produce and supply cooling load for air conditioning to the Johor State Government Complex at Kota Iskandar and to various private sector developments at Puteri Harbour
An Integrated Visual Analytics System for Studying Clinical Carotid Artery Plaques
Carotid artery plaques can cause arterial vascular diseases such as stroke
and myocardial infarction, posing a severe threat to human life. However, the
current clinical examination mainly relies on a direct assessment by physicians
of patients' clinical indicators and medical images, lacking an integrated
visualization tool for analyzing the influencing factors and composition of
carotid artery plaques. We have designed an intelligent carotid artery plaque
visual analysis system for vascular surgery experts to comprehensively analyze
the clinical physiological and imaging indicators of carotid artery diseases.
The system mainly includes two functions: First, it displays the correlation
between carotid artery plaque and various factors through a series of
information visualization methods and integrates the analysis of patient
physiological indicator data. Second, it enhances the interface guidance
analysis of the inherent correlation between the components of carotid artery
plaque through machine learning and displays the spatial distribution of the
plaque on medical images. Additionally, we conducted two case studies on
carotid artery plaques using real data obtained from a hospital, and the
results indicate that our designed carotid analysis system can effectively
provide clinical diagnosis and treatment guidance for vascular surgeons
The future of laboratory medicine - A 2014 perspective.
Predicting the future is a difficult task. Not surprisingly, there are many examples and assumptions that have proved to be wrong. This review surveys the many predictions, beginning in 1887, about the future of laboratory medicine and its sub-specialties such as clinical chemistry and molecular pathology. It provides a commentary on the accuracy of the predictions and offers opinions on emerging technologies, economic factors and social developments that may play a role in shaping the future of laboratory medicine
Health Figures: An Open Source JavaScript Library for Health Data Visualization
The way we look at data has a great impact on how we can understand it,
particularly when the data is related to health and wellness. Due to the
increased use of self-tracking devices and the ongoing shift towards preventive
medicine, better understanding of our health data is an important part of
improving the general welfare of the citizens. Electronic Health Records,
self-tracking devices and mobile applications provide a rich variety of data
but it often becomes difficult to understand. We implemented the hFigures
library inspired on the hGraph visualization with additional improvements. The
purpose of the library is to provide a visual representation of the evolution
of health measurements in a complete and useful manner. We researched the
usefulness and usability of the library by building an application for health
data visualization in a health coaching program. We performed a user evaluation
with Heuristic Evaluation, Controlled User Testing and Usability
Questionnaires. In the Heuristics Evaluation the average response was 6.3 out
of 7 points and the Cognitive Walkthrough done by usability experts indicated
no design or mismatch errors. In the CSUQ usability test the system obtained an
average score of 6.13 out of 7, and in the ASQ usability test the overall
satisfaction score was 6.64 out of 7. We developed hFigures, an open source
library for visualizing a complete, accurate and normalized graphical
representation of health data. The idea is based on the concept of the hGraph
but it provides additional key features, including a comparison of multiple
health measurements over time. We conducted a usability evaluation of the
library as a key component of an application for health and wellness
monitoring. The results indicate that the data visualization library was
helpful in assisting users in understanding health data and its evolution over
time.Comment: BMC Medical Informatics and Decision Making 16.1 (2016
Visual analytics methods for retinal layers in optical coherence tomography data
Optical coherence tomography is an important imaging technology for the early detection of ocular diseases. Yet, identifying substructural defects in the 3D retinal images is challenging. We therefore present novel visual analytics methods for the exploration of small and localized retinal alterations. Our methods reduce the data complexity and ensure the visibility of relevant information. The results of two cross-sectional studies show that our methods improve the detection of retinal defects, contributing to a deeper understanding of the retinal condition at an early stage of disease.
Drawing Area-Proportional Euler Diagrams Representing Up To Three Sets
Area-proportional Euler diagrams representing three sets are commonly used to visualize the results of medical experiments, business data, and information from other applications where statistical results are best shown using interlinking curves. Currently, there is no tool that will reliably visualize exact area-proportional diagrams for up to three sets. Limited success, in terms of diagram accuracy, has been achieved for a small number of cases, such as Venn-2 and Venn-3 where all intersections between the sets must be represented. Euler diagrams do not have to include all intersections and so permit the visualization of cases where some intersections have a zero value. This paper describes a general, implemented, method for visualizing all 40 Euler-3 diagrams in an area-proportional manner. We provide techniques for generating the curves with circles and convex polygons, analyze the drawability of data with these shapes, and give a mechanism for deciding whether such data can be drawn with circles. For the cases where non-convex curves are necessary, our method draws an appropriate diagram using non-convex polygons. Thus, we are now always able to automatically visualize data for up to three sets
