The Postponing Sexual Involvement Program is an educational curriculum designed to help teenagers learn to cope with and resist social and peer pressures to become sexually active at inappropriately early ages
Nomina dubia and faunistic issues with New Zealand spiders(Araneae)
Attempts to clarify the identity of obscure New Zealand spider taxa have lead to the conclusion that six species are best treated as nomina dubia [Philodromus rubrofrontus Urquhart 1891 (Philodromidae); Dictyna urquhartii Roewer 1951, (Dictynidae); Linyphia albiapiata Urquhart 1891, Linyphia cruenta Urquhart 1891, Linyphia multicolor Urquhart 1891, Linyphia pellos Urquhart 1891 (Linyphiidae)]. Four species currently listed in Araneus Clerck 1757 (Araneidae) are re-affirmed as synonyms [Araneus lineaacutus (Urquhart 1887) = Zealaranea crassa (Walckenaer 1842), Araneus powelli (Urquhart 1894) = Novaranea laevigata (Urquhart 1891), Araneus sublutius (Urquhart 1892b) = Zealaranea trinotata (Urquhart 1890), Araneus ventricosellus (Roewer 1942) = Eriophora heroine (L. Koch 1871)]. An old record of Araneus brisbanae (L. Koch 1867b) (Araneidae) from New Zealand is a misidentification of Eriophora decorosa Urquhart 1894. The family Philodromidae, the genera Dictyna Sundevall 1833 (Dictynidae) and Linyphia Latreille 1804 (Linyphiidae), as well as Tharpyna munda L. Koch 1875 (Thomisidae) and Araneus brisbanae (Araneidae) are absent from New Zealand
Workshop report European multifunctional farmers network : creating an European network of pioneers in multifunctional agriculture
This report describes the results of the Workshop European Multifunctional Farmers Network (EMFN) which was held on October 23, 2008 on the multifunctional farm “De Zonnehoeve” of Piet van IJzendoorn, at Zeewolde, the Netherlands. This workshop was part of the European Eemland Conference ‘Versatile Countryside’ which was held 22 – 24 October 2008 (see http://www.eeconference.eu/). This report introduces the of the European Multifunctional Farmers Network, and describes the program of the workshop and the results of the different sessions within the workshop. In addition, it provides the outcome of a pilot with international rural development students working with international multifunctional farmers, using the Interactive Strategic Management Method

Study on characteristics behavior of developing nozzle for aerosol spray
A new generation of aerosol technology are expand rapidly where the
research and development are focused on the analysis of propellants, packaging and
ingredients to make the aerosol has a high performance product. However, there are
a few main problems with pressurised aerosol spray, which are the production of
VOC and the quality of spraying process. Therefore, in this study the development of
an internal nozzle has been investigated to analyse the characterictics of spray by
using CFD simulation. The analysis is focused on various pressure supply up to
9bar, where the n-butane and water are applied as a liquid phases material. The
simulation is done based on two types of selected nozzle design. The result shows
that, the values of velocity, TKE and Reynolds Number for both liquid phases are
increase when the pressure supply increased. It was observed that, when comparing
the two type of nozzle design, it shown that the value of velocity and Reynolds
number is relatively similar for both liquid phases, while the TKE value is more
difference due to the material properties and nozzle design. Therefore, the use of
water is acceptable as an alternative to substitute the n-butane liquid phase in
producing an aerosol spray product
Factors Contributing to Domestic Violence Among Hindu Asian Indian Immigrant Women in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania: A Feasibility Study
While there is research on survivors of domestic violence in India and the United States (U.S.), little is known about the sociocultural factors related to domestic violence among Hindu Asian Indian immigrant women (AIIW) in the U.S. The objectives of this study were to a) test the feasibility of conducting domestic violence research among Hindu AIIW; b) investigate domestic violence prevalence and correlations with other characteristics; and c) test the cultural appropriateness of completed measures on social support, acculturation status, and domestic violence. Over 50% of respondents had experienced abuse, often perpetrated by family. Participants had high levels of social support and acculturation, regardless of their abuse status. Participants were receptive to this research, suggesting that domestic violence research among Hindu AIIW is feasible. High prevalence of violence among Hindu AIIW suggests they are at high risk for experiencing abuse; lack of variability in social support and acculturation scale responses suggest the need to further test instruments among Hindu AIIW
