    On-line power quality monitoring system using compactRIO device: a review on system development

    Power quality is an important issue in the power system. If power quality problem occurred, the effects such as manufacturing interruptions, loss of production, loss of revenue, lost of opportunities, product damage, and wasted energy and decreased equipment life will significantly be affected. One of the ways to detect the power quality problem is by on-line monitoring. This monitoring can be done by accessed to the point address in networking and those who involved in this site can go through for a quick assessment. This paper comprises of modelling the system, which is developed in LabVIEW environment and integrated using a powerful CompactRIO system.     On-line resistance measurement of substation connectors focused on predictive maintenance

    To detect faults in their early stage in a substation, it is necessary to monitor, measure and analyze periodically the health condition of the electrical connectors, which are among the most critical devices in such installations. To do so, the electrical connector has to be combined with low-cost intelligent electronic devices (IED), including different sensor types and microcontrollers with wireless capabilities. Such an electrical connector is referred as SmartConnector. Using the data collected by the IED, it is possible to estimate accurately the current condition of the electrical connector in real-time, which in turn will determine the expected faults in the substation before a major failure occurrence. The electrical resistance plays a key role to determine the current health condition, and therefore to estimate the remaining lifetime of the electrical connector. The electrical resistance of a high-voltage substation connector is calculated in real-time using different methods proposed in this work, by using an analog-bipolar Hall effect sensor and an instrumentation amplifier. Experimental results, when compared with the standard 4-wire Kelvin method, show an error of less than 10%.     Sequential Logit Approach to Modeling Customer-searching Decisions of Taxi Drivers

This model considers that vacant-taxi drivers can change the choices they make on their way to a designated district. Trip data from the global positioning systems (GPSs) of 460 urban taxis were extracted to calibrate the model and verify the factors underlying the drivers’ search decisions. The findings reveal that the proposed sequential logit model is capable of predicting the search paths of vacant-taxi drivers. This model form is considered more informative for policymakers who aim to study search paths and the associated traffic congestion contributed by taxis in each district

    Determinants of Children's Independent Mobility in Hong Kong

It represents an empirical research to assess the impact of individual, family and environmental determinants in influencing the level of CIM. Using territory-wide travel diary data from the Travel Characteristic Survey 2002 (TCS02), logistic regression modeling is used to understand the key factors associated with increased level of CIM among children in the city. The present study found that approximately one third of school journeys were conducted by children on their own. CIM were highly associated with the distance to schools, age group of children, median household income, family structure, working status of mothers, employment of domestic helper, neighborhood settlement types and density of school places. These findings can provide input to strategies for promoting increased level of CIM to improve children’s well-being

    CONTINUOUS DEPTH MAP RECONSTRUCTION FROM LIGHT FIELDS

    Light field analysis recently received growing interest, since its rich structure information benefits many computer vision tasks. This paper presents a novel method to reconstruct continuous depth maps from light field data. Conventional approaches usually treat depth map reconstruction as an optimization problem with discrete labels. On the contrary, our proposed method can obtain continuous depth maps by solving a linear system, which preserves richer details compared with conventional discrete approaches. Structure tensor is employed to extract raw depth information and corresponding confidence levels from the light field data. We introduce a method to reduce the adverse effect of unreliable local estimations, which helps to get rid of errors in specular areas and edges where depth values are discontinuous. Experiments on both synthetic and real light field data demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. Index Terms — Depth map reconstruction, light field, linear system 1

Yang dilengkapi dengan FOD,DFD, ERD, Normalisasi mengenai aplikasi yang dibuat. Program yang ada padaaplikasi ini antara lain terdiri dari menu utama yang menampilkan menu data,menu transaksi, menu laporan. Dimana menu data terdapat sub menu input databarang dan input data pesanan. Menu transaksi terdapat sub menu nota.Sedangkan menu laporan terdapat sub menu laporan pesanan dan sub menulaporan nota. Dimana menu laporan ini digunakan untuk menampilkan danmencetak laporan. Aplikasi sistem ini bertujuan untuk menggantikan sistemyang masih manual dengan sistem yang sudah terkomputerisasi, dengan harapandapat membuat cara kerja Perusahaan menjadi lebih baik khususnya pada bagianpemesanan
