The opium poppy (Papaver somniferum L.) is an important medicinal plant of great pharmacopoel uses. 101 germplasm lines of different eco-geographical origin maintained at National Botanical Research Institute, Lucknow were evaluated to study the genetic divergence for seed yield/plant, opium yield/plant and its 8 component traits following multivariate and canonical analysis. The genotypes were grouped in 13 clusters and confirmed by canonical analysis. Sixty eight percent genotypes (69/101) were genetically close to each other and grouped in 6 clusters (II, III, IV, V, VIII, XII) while apparent diversity was noticed for 32 percent (32/101) of the genotypes who diversed into rest 7 clusters (I, VI, VII, IX, X, XI, XIII). Inter cluster distance ranged from 47.28 to 234.55. The maximum was between IX and X followed by VII and IX (208.30) and IX and XI (205.53). The genotypes in cluster IX, X. XI, and XII had greater potential as breeding stock by virtue of high mean values of one or more component characters and high statistical distance among them. Based on findings of high cluster mean of component trait and inter-cluster distance among clusters, a breeding plan has been discussed

    Jugular Foramen Paragangliomas

Jugular foramen paragangliomas are rare neoplasms occurring with a myriad of symptoms originating from paraganglionic tissue derived from the neural crest, comprising about 0.03% of all human tumors. Patients usually present with symptoms of dysfunction of VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII nerves and sympathetic trunk. Depending on the tumor’s topography, various approaches might be used to obtain its gross total resection. Jugular Foramen’s paraganglioma classification, nuances of the approaches, pathology, postoperative complications, and outcomes are revised as follows. In conclusion, anatomical knowledge and the disease’s comprehension are essential when dealing with such tumors, and despite their rarity, we must be obstinately committed to the surgical technique and devoted to the patient’s functional postoperative outcome

In this article, I would like to write the review of the book, entitled Motivational Dynamics in Language Learning.  It was edited by Zoltán Dörnyei, Peter D. MacIntyre and Alastair Henry. The International Standard Book Numbers of this book are as follows: ISBN-13:978-1-78309-256-7 (hbk) and ISBN-13:978-1-78309-255-0 (pbk). This book has 429 pages and two parts. Before the first part of this book, there is a foreword and an introduction part. Before foreword, the names of the contributors of this book and their short biographies are given. Contributors of this book are listed by Dörnyei, Maclntyre and Henry (2015: p.p. ix-x-xi-xii-xiii).  Article visualizations

Aim: carrying out of secondary school students’ health awareness about tuberculosis’ characteristics and its prophylaxis.Materials and methods: An anonymous inquiry examination of 190 students at the age of 15-18, 69 (36%) of who - boys and 121 (64%) girls in IX, X, XI classes, from 3 secondary schools in Varna. The inquiry consists of 32 questions, classified in 4 sections. SPSS ver. 19.0 software package was used for statistical data processing. Results: Studies show that the interviewed students are aware of the basic characteristics of tuberculosis. The research displays significant differences between girls and boys` answers. Boys are better grounded in the causes, the processes of transmission and the basic prophylactic measures for prevention of tuberculosis whereas girls are very knowledgeable about the main symptoms of the disease

Collet-sicard syndrome: case report of a rare presentation of metastatic gastric adenocarcinoma.

Collet-Sicard is a rare syndrome that involves paralysis of unilateral lower cranial nerves (IX, X, XI and XII) due to lesions at the base of the skull. It is associated with various neoplastic and non-neoplastic aetiologies. Case Report: We report the case of an adult who presented with an 8 months history of dysphagia, dysphonia, supraclavicular lymphadenopathy, unilateral facial and shoulder weakness. A diagnosis of metastatic adenocarcinoma was confirmed by tissue biopsy. This is a case report of an unusual presentation of Collet-Sicard syndrome secondary to metastatic gastric carcinoma. Because of delay in reporting to hospital and diagnosis, the patient died while being worked-up for radiotherapy and surgery. Conclusion: Delay in diagnosis of Collet-Siccard syndrome is common, and this condition should be considered in patients who present with a constellation of lower cranial nerve palsies.&nbsp

Collet Sicard syndrome secondary to granulomatosis with polyangiitis

Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) is a systemic vasculitis that affects small to medium-sized blood vessels. Although uncommon, cranial nerve (CN) involvement can result in CN palsy. We present a clinical case of a female with collet Sicard syndrome (CSS), displaying left-sided CN IX, X, XI, and XII involvement, which we determined to be caused by GPA. Our patient met 7 points on the American College of Rheumatology 2018 (ACR) criteria for GPA with positive ANCA, bilateral mastoiditis, and decreased sensorineural hearing. Early identification of GPA is crucial due to systemic CN involvement, as it can lead to dysphonia, dysphagia, and other complications. Early treatment can improve the functional prognosis of patients, requiring intensive induction immunosuppression due to frequent bilateral progression and worse prognosis. Despite its infrequency, timely diagnosis is critical for better patient outcomes
