    Stopped Flow Kinetics of MnII Catalysed Periodate Oxidation of 2, 3- dimethylaniline - Evaluation of Stability Constant of the Ternary Intermediate Complex

    The formation of ternary intermediate unstable complex during the oxidation of aromatic amines by periodate ion catalysed by MnII has been proposed in case of some anilines. This paper is the first report on stopped-flow kinetic study and evaluation of stability constant of ternary complex forming in the MnII - catalysed periodate oxidation of 2, 3-dimethylaniline (D) in acetone-water medium. Stop-flow spectrophotometric method was used to study the ternary complex formation and to determine its stability constant. The stop-flow trace shows the reaction to occur in two steps. The first step, which is presumably the formation of ternary complex, is relatively fast while the second stage is relatively quite slow. The stability constant evaluated for D - MnII - IO4- ternary complex by determining equilibrium absorbance is (2.2 ± 1.0) × 105. Kinetics of ternary complex formation was defined by the rate law(A) under pseudo first order conditions. ln{[C2]eq / ( [C2]eq -[C2])} = kobs . t (A) where, kobs is the pseudo first order rate constant, [C2] is concentration of ternary complex at given time t, and [C2]eq is the equilibrium concentration of ternary complex. © 2015 BCREC UNDIP.     The Correlation Between Body Fat Percentage and Peak Expiratory Flow in Children Aged 10-12 Years at SD Negeri 8 Dauh Puri

    Background: The accumulation of fat decreases lung function. Peak expiratory flow is an indicator for assessing pulmonary function and can be used to identify the narrowing or obstruction of the airway. This study aimed to examine the correlation between body fat percentage and peak expiratory flow in children aged 10-12 years.Methods: This study was an analytical study with a cross-sectional design carried out in March 2019 at SD Negeri 8 Dauh Puri, Denpasar. Sampling was done by simple random sampling, and 84 samples were recruited who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Body fat percentage was measured using Bioelectric Impedance Analysis, while peak expiratory flow was measured using Peak Flow Meters. Data analysis was done using the Pearson Correlation test..Result: The Pearson Correlation Test showed a negative weak correlation between the percentage of body fat and peak expiratory flow with p=0.009 and a correlation coefficient of -0.284. It can be interpreted that the higher the body fat percentage, the higher the value of peak expiratory flow.Conclusion : There is a significant correlation between body fat percentage and peak expiratory flow in children aged 10-12 years at SD Negeri 8 Dauh Puri

    Electro-oxidation of Ethanol on Carbon Supported PtSn and PtSnNi Catalysts

    Even though platinum is known as an active electro-catalyst for ethanol oxidation at low temperatures (< 100 oC), choosing the electrode material for ethanol electro-oxidation is a crucial issue. It is due to its property which easily poisoned by a strong adsorbed species such as CO. PtSn-based electro-catalysts have been identified as better catalysts for ethanol electro-oxidation. The third material is supposed to improved binary catalysts performance. This work presents a study of the ethanol electro-oxidation on carbon supported Pt-Sn and Pt-Sn-Ni catalysts. These catalysts were prepared by alcohol reduction. Nano-particles with diameters between 2.5-5.0 nm were obtained. The peak of (220) crystalline face centred cubic (fcc) Pt phase for PtSn and PtSnNi alloys was repositioned due to the presence of Sn and/or Ni in the alloy. Furthermore, the modification of Pt with Sn and SnNi improved ethanol and CO electro-oxidation. Copyright © 2016 BCREC GROUP.     The Community – Based Flood Disaster Risk Reduction (CBDRR) in Beringin Watershed in Semarang City

    Population growth in Semarang city is certainly increasing land demand for settlement. Limited land and weak regulation enforcement of land control trigger the land use change including the watershed area. Semarang City Spatial Plan 2011-2031 has determined Beringin as a buffer area with limited physical development allocation but the citizens utilized the watershed area for settlement. Settlement developments in the area reduce the watershed ability to catch water and river capacity due to increased sedimentation. These two reasons are the main cause of the flash flood disaster (regularly in rainy season) in seven villages of Beringin watershed. The condition is exacerbated by the tidal flood occurred in two village lies in coastal. In 2012, Semarang City government developed Flood Forecasting and Warning System as one of Climate Change Adaptation Measures known as Flood Early Warning System (FEWS). One of important output of FEWS is community-based disaster risk reduction. Community participation process in the FEWS has made it possible for the community to identify disaster risk characteristics, to propose solution for reducing flood risk which is suitable to the local wisdom, to increase the community capacity and to organize one of themselves in a disaster preparedness group which run quite independently

    Controlled Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles Using Double Reductants and Its Voltammetric Characteristics Study

    Constructing robust silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) with good shape and dispersibility is of particular interest in analytical applications. Herein, monodispersibility AgNPs with the average size of 20 nm have been successfully prepared via one-pot method using sodium borohydride and trisodium citrate as co-reductants. The introduction of sodium borohydride greatly accelerated the rate of nucleation, which can effectively solve the problem of broad size distribution. Both shape and dispersibility of AgNPs can be effectively adjusted by simple control of refluxing time or concentrations of the sodium borohydride. We also studied the voltammetric characteristics of the AgNPs using Ag/AgCl solid-state voltammetry. An intense and stable current peak at a low potential could be obtained, which could provide a unique advantage in analytical applications. Copyright © 2016 BCREC GROUP.     Effect of Co and Mo Loading by Impregnation and Ion Exchange Methods on Morphological Properties of Zeolite Y Catalyst

    Coal tar can be used as an alternative raw material for the production of liquid fuels, such as: gasoline and diesel through hydrogenation and cracking process. Hydrogenation and cracking process requires a catalyst which has metal components for hydrogenation reaction and acid components for cracking reaction. In this study, the Co/Zeolite Y and Co-Mo/Zeolite Y catalysts were prepared by impregnation and ion exchange methods. Characterizations of the catalysts were carried out by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and gravimetric acidity. The catalysts were tested for coal tar conversion to liquid fuel under various temperatures, amount of catalyst and hydrogen flow rates in a fixed bed flow reaction system. Liquid fuels products were analyzed by gas chromatography (GC). The XRD Spectra indicated that the addition of Co and Mo metals did not affect catalysts structure, however it alters the percentage of crystallinity. The addition of Co metal using impregnation method caused reduction in crystallinity, while the addition of Mo caused improvement of crystallinity. The Co-Mo/Zeolite Y catalyst with highest crystallinity was obtained by loading using ion exchange method. The addition of Co and Mo metals caused increasing acidity. However, the increasing composition of Co and Mo loaded on Zeolite Y catalyst decreased the yield of liquid fuels from coal tar. It can be concluded that the yields of liquid fuels and the composition of gasoline fractions from hydrocracking of coal tar were highly dependent on acidity of the catalyst.     Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat preferensi dan urutan kepentingan konsumen terhadap sayuran hidroponik di Hidroponik Agrofarm Bandungan. Sebanyak 100 orang responden konsumen hidroponik di Agrofarm Bandungan yang merupakan konsumen lama dan baru, terpilih untuk menjawab pertanyaan dalam kuesioner. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus. Metode penentuan lokasi menggunakan metode purposive. Metode penentuan responden menggunakan purposive sampling. Metode pengumpulan data dengan wawancara menggunakan kuisioner terstruktur. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan analisis Konjoin dengan kombinasi sebanyak 24 atribut. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian sayuran hidroponik yang paling disukai konsumen adalah jenis Salada Locarno. Urutan preferensi kombinasi atribut sayuran hidroponik yang paling diprioritaskan oleh konsumen berturut-turut adalah fisik, warna, tingkat kesegaran, dan harga sayura

    Ruang publik merupakan suatu wadah yang dapat menampung aktivitas/ kegiatan tertentu dari masyarakatnya baik secara individu maupun kelompok. Sebagai bagian dari ruang publik, taman disajikan untuk menginspirasi kehidupan masyarakat dalam bentuk kontak sosial terutama bagi orang orang yang memiliki latar belakang yang berbeda. Seiring dengan hal tersebut, penelitian ini mengkaji mengenai taman yang terdapat di pertigaan jalan Tirto Agung dan Jalan Durian Raya Kecamatan Banyumanik yaitu taman Tirto Agung. Sebagai ruang publik, taman ini harus memenuhi kebutuhan yang baik terutama dalam hal perancangan kota dan ketersedian fasilitas taman terhadap aktivitas pengunjung. Penyediaan fasilitas tersebut juga perlu disesuaikan terhadap jenis taman dan peninjauan terhadap kebutuhan masyarakat.     ANALISIS PENGARUH PROMOSI DAN KARAKTERISTIK KONSUMEN TERHADAP KEPUTUSAN PEMBELIAN TEH CELUP WALINI DI KOTA BANDUNG

    Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh bauran promosi terhadap keputusan pembelian konsumen. Penelitian ini menggunakan 100 responden dengan metode accidental sampling. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif, analisis faktor dan regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa periklanan, penjualan pribadi, promosi penjualan, pemasaran langsung, hubungan masyarakat, jenis kelamin, usia, pekerjaan dan pendidikan mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap keputusan pembelian secara serempak. Periklanan, promosi penjualan, pemasaran langsung, jenis kelamin, usia dan pekerjaan mempunyai pengaruh yang sangat signifikan secara parsial, sedangkan penjualan pribadi, hubungan masyarakat dan pendidikan tidak signifikan. Kata Kunci: pemasaran, promosi, keputusan pembelian, teh celup walini ABSTRACT The purpose of this research was to find out the influence of promotional mix on consumers purchasing decision. This study took 100 respondents and used accidental sampling method. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis, factor analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The result of this research showed that advertising, personal selling, sales promotion, direct marketing, public relations, gender, age, occupation and education had a significant influence on purchasing decision simultaneously. Advertising, sales promotion, direct marketing, gender, age and occupation of consumers had a highly significant influence on purchasing decision while personal selling, public relations and education had no significant influence.     Politik Hukum Peribadatan Agama dan Habitus Masyarakat Pancasila

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Politik Hukum Peribadatan Agama dan Habitus Masyarakat Pancasila. Peneltian merupakan penelitian dokmatik, dan dianalisis dengan analisis kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bawah Politik hukum peribadatan agama melalui SKB sesungguhnya dimaksudkan untuk menjaga kehidupan masyarakat dan mewujudkan integrasi sosial. Akan tetapi integrasi yang terbentuk bukanlah integrasi normatif yang muncul dari kesadaran alamiah masyarakat, melainkan integrasi koersif atas dasar keterikatan pada peraturan. Relasi masyarakat dalam perbedaan dan keberagaman agama ditandai dengan adanya peristiwa-peristiwa yang menyiratkan adanya gesekansosial di masyarakat dalam konteks kehidupan beragama yang beragam. Hal tersebut tentu saja bertentangan dengan nilai dan cita-cita bangsa yang ada di dalam Pancasila. Politik hukum pada masa kepemimpinan Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) menerbitkan Surat Keputusan Bersama (SKB) Menteri Dalam Negeri dan Menteri Agama tahun 2006 yang mengatur tentang peribadatan dan pendirian tempat ibadah. Politik hukum peribadatan agama dalam bentuk SKB tersebut diharapkan mampu menjaga kebersamaan dankeharmonisan masyarakat di tengah keberagaman agama. Perilaku masyarakat yang dapat mewujudkan keharmonisan di tengah keberagaman adalah perilaku yang berdasarkan karakter Pancasila. Ketika Pancasila menjadi pola pikir, persepsi, pola perilaku, gaya hidup, nilai-nilai, disposisi, harapan, dan juga standar ideal bagi masing-masing individu, makaPancasila menjadi habitus masyarakat. Pertanyaannya kemudian adalah sejauh mana politik hukum tersebut mampu berperan dalam mewujudkan habitus Pancasila bagi masyarakat ? Berbagai peristiwa dan permasalahan yang terjadi kemudian justru menunjukkan adanya ekses negatif dari politik hukum peribadatan agama melalui SKB, terutama menguatnya prinsip mayoritas-minoritas dalam kehidupan beragama masyarakat. Hal itu tentu saja tidak sesuai dengan habitus Pancasila. Sehingga kemudian politik hukum seyogyanya mampu mewujudkan masyarakat dengan habitus Pancasila, dan mewujudkan integrasi nasional yang normatif, bukan koersif
