    SIMULASI DAN ANALISIS SEGMENTASI CITRA TULISAN TANGAN ANGKA YANG SALING BERSENTUHAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE ZHANG SUEN

    ABSTRAKSI: Proses segmentasi merupakan suatu bagian yang sangat penting dalam analisis citra. Tidak hanya pada pengolahan citra objek gambar tetapi juga pada citra tulisan tangan. Akan tetapi seringkali segmentasi pada citra tulisan tangan hanya pada segmentasi kalimat dan segmentasi kata saja. Segmentasi citra tulisan tangan masih perlu dikembangkan hingga pada segmentasi tiap karakter huruf atau angka agar penggunaannya pada pengolahan citra lebih akurat dan lebih baik. Permasalahan untuk mengembangkan segmentasi tulisan tulisan tangan ini jika tulisan tersebut saling bersentuhan. Untuk memisahkan 2 karakter tulisan tangan yang saling bersentuhan tersebut diperlukannya suatu proses segmentasi yang bisa memisahkan karakter tersebut. Dalam Tugas Akhir ini dilakukan simulasi tentang segmentasi citra tulisan tangan yang saling bersentuhan menggunakan Algoritma Zhang Suen. Algoritma ini merupakan salah satu algoritma thinning. Tahap pada Tugas Akhir ini terdiri dari Thinning, ekstrasi fitur points untuk menentukan titik pemotongan, melakukan pemotongan. Pada Tugas Akhir ini akan berfokus pada analisis segmentasi tulisan tangan angka yang saling bersentuhan tidak hanya single touching tapi juga multi touching. Dari simulasi ini dihasilkan akurasi segmentasi angka yang bersentuhan pada Sigle Touching 79.599%dengan nilai Sigma = 1, dan Multi Touching 37.943% pada nilai Sigma yang sama. Nilai Sigma sangat mempengaruhi ketebalan tulisan tangan pada citra. Thinning Zhang suen masih memerlukan peningkatan agar mendapatkan ekstrasi fitur Points yang tepat. Waktu yang diperlukan untuk melakukan segmenmtasi rata-rata 2.70316 detik per karakter untuk Single Touching dan 2.51648 detik untuk Multi Touching.Kata Kunci : segmentasi, tulisan tangan,Thinning, algoritma Zhang Suen, single touching, multi touchingABSTRACT: the process of segmentation is a very important part in the analysis of the imagery. On duty this final will focus on analysis segmentation handwriting a figure touched not only single touching but also multi touching. From this simulation produced the best accuracy of touching numerical segmentation in the Single Touching 79.599%with the Sigma value = 1, and the Multiple Touching 37.943% on the value of Sigma. Sigma values greatly affects the thickness of the handwriting on the image. Thinning Zhang suen still require improvement in order to get the right features extraction Points. The time required to perform segmentation 2.70316 average seconds per character for single touching and 2.51648 seconds per character for multi touching.     VisiStat: visualization-driven, interactive statistical analysis

    Short synthetic peptides corresponding to sequences of complementarity-determining regions (CDRs) from different immunoglobulin families have been shown to induce antimicrobial, antiviral and antitumor activities regardless of the specificity of the original monoclonal antibody (mAb). Presently, we studied the in vitro and in vivo antitumor activity of synthetic peptides derived from conserved CDR sequences of different immunoglobulins against human tumor cell lines and murine B16F10-Nex2 melanoma aiming at the discovery of candidate molecules for cancer therapy. Four light-and heavy-chain CDR peptide sequences from different antibodies (C36-L1, HA9-H2, 1-H2 and Mg16-H2) showed cytotoxic activity against murine melanoma and a panel of human tumor cell lineages in vitro. Importantly, theyalso exerted anti-metastatic activity using a syngeneic melanoma model in mice. Other peptides (D07-H3, MN20v1, MS2-H3) were also protective against metastatic melanoma, without showing significant cytotoxicity against tumor cells in vitro. in this case, we suggest that these peptides may act as immune adjuvants in vivo. As observed, peptides induced nitric oxide production in bone-marrow macrophages showing that innate immune cells can also be modulated by these CDR peptides. the present screening supports the search in immunoglobulins of rather frequent CDR sequences that are endowed with specific antitumor properties and may be candidates to be developed as anti-cancer drugs.     A Polymer-Based Capacitive Sensing Array for Normal and Shear Force Measurement

    In this work, we present the development of a polymer-based capacitive sensing array. The proposed device is capable of measuring normal and shear forces, and can be easily realized by using micromachining techniques and flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) technologies. The sensing array consists of a polydimethlysiloxane (PDMS) structure and a FPCB. Each shear sensing element comprises four capacitive sensing cells arranged in a 2 × 2 array, and each capacitive sensing cell has two sensing electrodes and a common floating electrode. The sensing electrodes as well as the metal interconnect for signal scanning are implemented on the FPCB, while the floating electrodes are patterned on the PDMS structure. This design can effectively reduce the complexity of the capacitive structures, and thus makes the device highly manufacturable. The characteristics of the devices with different dimensions were measured and discussed. A scanning circuit was also designed and implemented. The measured maximum sensitivity is 1.67%/mN. The minimum resolvable force is 26 mN measured by the scanning circuit. The capacitance distributions induced by normal and shear forces were also successfully captured by the sensing array

    EVALUATION OF EDUCATIONAL MOBILE APPS FOR TURKISH PRESCHOOLERS FROM GOOGLE PLAY STORE

    There are many mobile applications (apps) for learning in Google Play Store. People usually evaluate the apps based on their personal view/criteria, and others have an idea about that app with its rating score and/or user comments. This study, aims to analyze the educational mobile apps objectively by using a reliable rubric tool; REVEAC (Rubric for the EValuation of Educational Apps for preschool Children). This is a descriptive research based on content analysis method. The mobile apps were selected in this study based on their following characteristics: belonging to educational category for children five years old and under; being free, trial or freemium; and having Turkish content. Android apps were selected because of its commonly usage in worldwide. The selected 44 apps have scores from 2.9 to 5 according to Google’s five-star rating system. The selected mobile apps had medium level of rubric scores. The rubric scores ranged from 29 to 66 points with a mean of 43.20 ± 7.89. There was no statistically significant correlation between rubric scores and a) Google Play scores; b) the number of people who voted for the mobile app, and c) how many times the mobile app downloaded. The 39 apps could be categorized as games, and five apps were interactive e-books. The most popular five contents of the apps were; animals, numbers, colors, fruits and vegetables, and shapes. Almost all of the apps were promoting learning through repetitive practices. The study also presented additional notes for the apps in terms of four domain; educational content, design, functionality, and technical characteristics.   Article visualizations

    HTML5 Based Email Client with Touch Enabled Advanced User Interface for Tabs and Tablets

    The Internet has become as a very powerful platform that has changed the way we do business and the way we communicate. E-Mail is an essential tool for both cooperative world and individuals for communicating. Web-based e-mail systems have become more popular among the internet users with time. Internet and the devices that we use to access the internet are rapidly changing time to time. Among the recent evolutions the most significant of them is HTML5 incorporated mobile technology with hi-tech devices like tabs, iPads and tablets with touch sensitivity. However, the major problem occurs when different levels of resolutions arisewithmodern devices. Some devices support touch, multi-touch, gestures, keyboards and stylus. User-interface of email web clients hasnt improved in the way hi-tech devices evolved. Handling different types of interactions depends on the device and way that user handles it. We have developed HTML5 off-line supporting web-based UI for e-mail system to overcome this issue and to provide a highly user based interactive, responsive and efficient process even in slow network connections. Our approach is based on HTML5 features and client side on java-scripting. Our system is capable of running on a browser without installing any plug-ins. Depending on the device resolution and user interaction (one finger touch/ both hands or external keyboard) email client has provisions to transform the web UI to give better interaction for the user and email system
