Aligning System Architectures on Requirements of Mobile Business Processes
The support of mobile workers with mobile IT solutions can create tremendous improvements in mobile business processes of a company. The main characteristic of such a mobile system is the ability to connect via a (mobile) network to a central server, e.g. in order to access customer data. This paper presents a detailed description of the four main software architectures for mobile client/server-based systems and their main characteristics. Beyond, typical business requirements in mobile environments like the location of use, data topicality, interaction requirements, synchronisation mechanisms and many more are mapped onto each of these architectures. The presented results can be used for discussing concurrent business needs as well as for deriving a mobile system architecture based on these needs
Wearable feedback systems for rehabilitation
In this paper we describe LiveNet, a flexible wearable platform intended for long-term ambulatory health monitoring with real-time data streaming and context classification. Based on the MIT Wearable Computing Group's distributed mobile system architecture, LiveNet is a stable, accessible system that combines inexpensive, commodity hardware; a flexible sensor/peripheral interconnection bus; and a powerful, light-weight distributed sensing, classification, and inter-process communications software architecture to facilitate the development of distributed real-time multi-modal and context-aware applications. LiveNet is able to continuously monitor a wide range of physiological signals together with the user's activity and context, to develop a personalized, data-rich health profile of a user over time. We demonstrate the power and functionality of this platform by describing a number of health monitoring applications using the LiveNet system in a variety of clinical studies that are underway. Initial evaluations of these pilot experiments demonstrate the potential of using the LiveNet system for real-world applications in rehabilitation medicine
Design of Low Power Wideband Low Noise Amplifier for Software Defined Radio at 100 MHz to 1 GHz
This paper describes the design of wideband low noise amplifier (LNA) for mobile software defined radio (SDR) application which
targeted to be applied in two-way communication mobile system architecture. The technical specification was deduced from the TIA-
603C standard receiver system sensitivity and intermodulation. The proposed LNA exhibit low power consumption and adopts a negative
feedback wideband amplifier topology, operated from 100 MHz to 1 GHz which covers the whole Land Mobile FM Communication
Equipment (136 941 MHz) frequency band. The proposed topology solve the RF tracing problem inherited in the targeted frequency
and also the problem of economically impractical PCB size rendered by other wideband amplifier methods. The Advanced Design System
software is used to perform the simulations. The measured result show the proposed LNA has a stable gain of more than 15 dB, noise
figure less than 1.5 dB, S11 and S22 less than -10 dB, with current consumption of 8 mA from voltage supply at 1.8 V
Design of Wideband Low Noise Amplifier using Negative Feedback Topology for Motorola Application
This paper describes the design of wideband low noise amplifier (LNA) for Motorola application which targeted to be applied in two-way communication mobile system architecture. The technical specification was deduced from the TIA-603C standard receiver system sensitivity and inter-modulation. The proposed LNA exhibit low power consumption and adopts a negative feedback wideband amplifier topology, operated from 100 MHz to 1 GHz which covers the whole Land Mobile FM Communication Equipment (136 – 941 MHz) frequency band. The proposed topology solve the RF tracing problem inherited in the targeted frequency and also the problem of economically impractical PCB size rendered by other wideband amplifier methods. The Advanced Design System software is used to perform the simulations. The measured result show the proposed LNA using FR4 board has a stable gain of more than 15 dB, noise figure less than 1.5 dB, S11 and S22 less than -10 dB, with current consumption of 8 mA from voltage supply at 1.8 V
Android Applications Security
The use of smartphones worldwide is growing very fast and also the malicious attacks have increased. The mobile security applications development keeps the pace with this trend. The paper presents the vulnerabilities of mobile applications. The Android applications and devices are analyzed through the security perspective. The usage of restricted API is also presented. The paper also focuses on how users can prevent these malicious attacks and propose some prevention measures, including the architecture of a mobile security system for Android devices.Mobile Application, Security, Malware, Android, Permissions
A mobile knowledge management system architecture in higher education institution
This paper proposes systems architecture for a
mobile knowledge management system (KMS).The architecture is based on a review of system
architectures of several mobile-based applications. The architecture is designed to be appropriate to the context of an IHL
MOG - A smart mobile system for interactive museum visits
In this work we propose an integrated system to manage and enhance the museums visiting experience for the general public, providing a more comfortable, intelligent and interactive way to visit multiple museums without the need for several mobile applications, whilst giving a tool to museum curators that allows them to easily manage and extend the content displayed to each individual visitor. For that purpose, our approach was to develop a single mobile application, a module to an open-source Content Management System (CMS), namely Drupal 8, and incorporate location information inferred by the capture of BLE's signals (beacons). The proposed prototype features an Android application that will be used by the visitors where they can access the available information about several museums, and combined with BLE's, will display information about the museum and spaces of the museum where the visitor is (or is planning to visit). This application gives the option to choose from several languages that are provided and managed by each museum.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
Mobile Staff Instant Interaction System
The purpose of this report to give a detail a view about the final year project that has
been developed by author which is "Mobile Staff Instant Interaction System" which is
intended for lecturers and student using Local Area Network(LAN) wireless
connectivity. The report contents background of study, problem statement, objective
and scope of study, literature review and theory, methodology, and conclusion and
recommendation. Basically, the problem of the current situation is when a frequent
consultations and appointments have to be done for learning or project purposes.
Alternatively, the LAN-Based system will replace the current systems that are such as
Yahoo Messenger and email which require anaccess of internet when the connection is
off. The scope of the project is to keep the interaction between both entities constantly
beheld. Ausercould setanappointment to theintended target users form the registered
user and consult remotely using the appointment. The methodology been used is
waterfall model because the author is dealing with a proposed and new knowledge to
the author. This will need a furtherstudies and investigation on the wireless architecture
itself, WAP system development and implementation. As for conclusions, the author
has described about the recommendation and important of the system in term of
efficiency and time which are crucial thatcould accelerate a certain task progress
