    Accelerating sparse restricted Boltzmann machine training using non-Gaussianity measures

    In recent years, sparse restricted Boltzmann machines have gained popularity as unsupervised feature extractors. Starting from the observation that their training process is biphasic, we investigate how it can be accelerated: by determining when it can be stopped based on the non-Gaussianity of the distribution of the model parameters, and by increasing the learning rate when the learnt filters have locked on to their preferred configurations.     Kinerja Training Kit Mesin Pengisi dan Penutup Botol otomatis Sebagai Media Praktik Programmable Logic Controllers di SMK

    This research aims to: (1) develop a prototype of an automatic bottle filling and capping machine training kit as a Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) practice tool in vocational high schools (SMK), and (2) assess the performance of the automatic bottle filling and capping machine training kit as a PLC practice tool in SMK. This research adopts the research and development methodology in the field of education. The development model used is the ADDIE model by Robert Maribe Branch. The research consists of the following stages: Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. The data collection techniques employed in this study are interviews and questionnaires, using interview guides and questionnaires as instruments. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The results of the research indicate that: (1) a training kit for an automatic bottle filling and capping machine has been developed, which consists of main components such as the Conveyor Unit, Water Filling Unit, Water Capping Unit, OMRON CP1E N40 PLC Unit, Training Kit Components Unit, and Input/Output Terminal Block. This training kit serves as a PLC practice tool in SMK; and (2) the automatic bottle filling and capping machine training kit exhibits good performance, as demonstrated by the testing of 43 components, all of which functioned properly. The functional testing conducted under Initial Condition, Watertank Condition, Run Cycle Condition, Stop Condition, and Emergency Condition showed that all components (100%) performed well

Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan yaitu melalui penyelenggaraan pendidikan non formal berupa program pelatihan yang bertujuan untuk mendidik dan melatih masyarakat yang memenuhi prasyarat (penduduk yang putus sekolah, pencari kerja, dan kurang mampu). Penelitian ini menjelaskan bagaimana pelaksanaan pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui pelatihan mesin logam untuk menumbuhkan jiwa wirausaha dan bagaimana menumbuhkan jiwa wirausaha. Adanya pelatihan mesin logam mampu menumbuhkan jiwa wirausaha peserta pelatihan dibuktikan dengan peningkatan keterampilan, sikap, dan keahlian dari peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipan dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik kondensasi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi data. Teknik tersebut digunakan untuk mencari data dalam penelitian pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui pelatihan mesin logam. Hasil penelitian pelaksanaan pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui pelatihan mesin logam memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam menumbuhkan jiwa wirausaha bagi masyarakat. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk menjelaskan bagaimana pelaksanaan program pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui pelatihan mesin logam dan bagaimana menumbuhkan jiwa wirausaha pada program pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui pelatihan mesin logam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan program sudah berjalan dengan baik yang didukung oleh komponen-komponen yang sesuai berupa peran instruktur, seleksi peserta yang tepat, metode pembelajaran, dan tujuan yang tepat sasaran. Penumbuhan jiwa wirausaha didukung oleh upaya yang dilakukan yang mampu mendorong peserta didik memiliki kemauan dan rasa percaya diri, disiplin yang tinggi, motivasi, keberanian mengambil resiko, serta kreatifitas dan inovasi terbukti. Keberhasilan tersebut terbukti dari keinginan peserta pelatihan mesin logam untuk bekerja pada orang lain ataupun membuka usaha sendiri. Kata Kunci: Pemberdayaan Masyarakat, Pelatihan Mesin Logam, Jiwa Wirausaha Abstract Community empowerment is an effort to increase the dignity and the dignity of the low economic community to escape from social inequality. One of the efforts made is through the provision of non-formal education in the form of training programs that aim to educate and train people who meet the prerequisites (residents who drop out, job seekers, and less able). This study explains how the implementation of community empowerment through metal machine training to foster entrepreneurial spirit in UPT Training Workshop of Surabaya and how to grow entrepreneurial spirit. The existence of metal machine training is able to cultivate the entrepreneur spirit of the trainees as evidenced by the improvement of skills, attitudes, and skills of learners. This research uses condensing data, data collection using in-depth interview technique, participant observation and documentation. Data were analyzed using data reduction techniques, data presentation, and data verification. The technique is used to search data in community empowerment research through metal machine training. The results of the implementation of community empowerment through metal machine training has a very important role in fostering entrepreneurial spirit for the community. This research has a purpose to explain how the implementation of community empowerment program through metal machine training and how to grow entrepreneur spirit in community empowerment program through metal machine training. The results show that the implementation of the program is running well supported by the appropriate components in the form of the role of instructor, selection of appropriate participants, learning methods, and objectives of the right target. The growth of entrepreneurial spirit is supported by efforts made that can encourage learners to have the will and confidence, high discipline, motivation, risk-taking courage, and creativity and innovation proven.     A Relational Gradient Descent Algorithm For Support Vector Machine Training

    We consider gradient descent like algorithms for Support Vector Machine (SVM) training when the data is in relational form. The gradient of the SVM objective can not be efficiently computed by known techniques as it suffers from the ``subtraction problem''. We first show that the subtraction problem can not be surmounted by showing that computing any constant approximation of the gradient of the SVM objective function is #P\#P-hard, even for acyclic joins. We, however, circumvent the subtraction problem by restricting our attention to stable instances, which intuitively are instances where a nearly optimal solution remains nearly optimal if the points are perturbed slightly. We give an efficient algorithm that computes a ``pseudo-gradient'' that guarantees convergence for stable instances at a rate comparable to that achieved by using the actual gradient. We believe that our results suggest that this sort of stability the analysis would likely yield useful insight in the context of designing algorithms on relational data for other learning problems in which the subtraction problem arises
