THE ROLE OF ENGLISH COMMUNICATION COMPETENCE TOWARD STAR HOTEL STAFFS’ WORKING ACHIEVEMENT IN PALEMBANG

Considering the implementation of ASEAN Economic Community and Asian Games 2018, potential hotels are urged to prepare qualified and competitive human resource. Language is believed as a means of communication among people involved in these international events. People around the world would stay at certain hotel, and English communication competence might relate the hotel guests and the employees as service provider agent. This study aims to excavate the role of English communication competence toward employees’ working achievement. About three hundred and fifty-three employes from forty-four different star hotels in Palembang were involved as the sample. The data was collected by administering two kinds of instruments, namely speaking test (to obtain the condition of their communication competence) and questionnaires concerning superior’s judgement on employees’ working achievement. The results were obtained through the descriptive, percentage, and statistical analysis which was aimed to find out the significant influence of English communication competence toward employee achievement. The findings showed that there was positive influence of English communication competence toward employees’ achievement

A sustainable management model based on business excellence as applied to mining companies

The success of a sustainable business project depends on different factors but there is no doubt that the excellence of business management is the single most critical factor, because of it is what connects all the others. In a constantly changing world, a new way of doing things will be proposed setting criteria for taking decisions that create value today and in the future. Professional ethics and transparency must be applied to employees, suppliers, customers and shareholders. A change organizational culture is necessary to respect social and environmental concerns, avoiding erroneous business decisions that endanger the well-being of future generations. In this paper, a model based on excellence and sustainability is proposed, which is based on a diagnostics tool to determine defects and problems, where the areas for improvement are identified and defined both qualitatively and quantitatively, so an action plan could be designed. Subsequently, both solutions and the right tools are applied to move progressively toward our proposed model. Estimation of the Russia’s trade policy options with the help of the Computable General Equilibrium Model

The computable general equilibrium model was used in assessing different Russia’s trade policy options. The base experiment lying in the core of our investigation is simulation of the EU eastward enlargement. According to our calculations Russia does not loose in the resulting equilibrium. This is not a zero-sum process from a point of view of Russia’s social welfare. The other experiments are: simulation of Russia’s WTO accession and creation of the Common European Economic Space. Change in the tariffs associated with the possible WTO accession is so small relative to the existing level of tariffs, that it does not give a significant change in the Russian economic environment. Significant changes are associated with the creation of the CEES as a free trade area between Russia and the enlarged Europe. Parameter-free ansatz for inferring ground state wave functions of even potentials

Schr\"odinger's equation (SE) and the information-optimizing principle based on Fisher's information measure (FIM) are intimately linked, which entails the existence of a Legendre transform structure underlying the SE. In this comunication we show that the existence of such an structure allows, via the virial theorem, for the formulation of a parameter-free ground state's SE-ansatz for a rather large family of potentials.
