Mednarodna konferenca o algebri in njeni uporabnosti

Namen prispevka je predstaviti mednarodno konferenco o algebri in njeni uporabnosti (The International Conference on Algebra and its Applications), ki je potekala od 20. februarja do 22. februarja 2010 v mestu Aligarh v Indiji. Konferenca je bila namenjena matematikom, ki raziskujejo na področju algebre - predstavili so svoje novejše rezultate, izmenjali ideje, postavili nova odprta vprašanja, reševali probleme in s tem prispevali k razvoju algebre ter z njo povezanih problemov

Economics and mathematical theory of games

The theory of games is a branch of applied mathematics that is used in economics, management, and other social sciences. Moreover, it is used also in military science, political science, international relations, computer science, evolutionary biology, and ecology. It is a field of mathematics in which games are studied. The aim of this article is to present matrix games and the game theory. After the introduction, we will explain the methodology and give some examples. We will show applications of the game theory in economics. We will discuss about advantages and potential disadvantages that may occur in the described techniques. At the end, we will represent the results of our research and its interpretation

Generalized bicircular projections via rank preserving maps on the spaces of symmetric and antisymmetric operators

V članku so obravnavane naslednje, med seboj povezane, preslikave na simetričnih in antisimetričnih operatorjih, ki delujejo na kompleksnem Hilbertovem prostoru: linearni ohranjevalci ranga ena na simetričnih operatorjih, linearni ohranjevalci ranga dva na antisimetričnih operatorjih, surjektivne linearne izometrije in posplošeni bicirkularni projektorji.We study several related maps from the space of symmetric (respectively, antisymmetric) operators, acting on a complex Hilbert space, to itself: rank preserving linear maps (more precisely, maps preserving rank one operators in the symmetric case, and maps preserving rank two operators in the antisymmetric case), surjective linear isometries and generalized bicircular projections
