This work aims to carry out a systematic review of the literature about learning styles and the teaching and student experience in teaching in Administration during the last decade. To do so, it deepens, in its foundation, the themes of learning styles and the teaching and student experience. It is a qualitative, exploratory and bibliographical study through the use of the construction of a systematic literature review, dividing the analysis process into three phases: preparation of a protocol, selection of articles found in the Spell and Scielo databases and the analysis in details of publications. It is noteworthy that 12 papers were analyzed, one of which came from an event and the others from nationally circulated journals. The results reveal the lack of research that addresses the relationship between these themes of learning styles and teacher and student experience. Therefore, it could be concluded that there is still a way to go forward on this topic in the context of teaching in Administration, in which some suggestions were presented to promote studies that collaborate in the nuances that involve learning styles and their relationship with the lived experiences by teachers and students in the learning environmentEste trabalho tem o objetivo de realizar uma revisão sistemática da literatura acerca dos estilos de aprendizagem e da experiência docente e discente no ensino em Administração durante a última década. Abstract Objectives: to analyze the obstetric and sociodemographic profile on perinatal deaths in Teresina the capital of Piauí, from data obtained from the Sistema de Informação de Mortalidade e Sistema de Informação de Nascidos Vivos (Brazilian Mortality Information System and Livebirth Information System). Methods: this is a retrospective cohort on perinatal deaths of mothers whose babies were born and resided in Teresina between 2010 and 2014. The analyzed variables were age and the mother´s schooling, gestational age, type of pregnancy (singleton or multiple), route of delivery (vaginal or cesarean), place of death (in and out hospital), time of death in relation to the delivery (prior, during or after), and birth weight. Results: the perinatal mortality coefficient (PMC) varied from 17.5 to 19.3 per 1,000 births. We found similarities in the sociodemographic profile and in the obstetric fetal and non-fetal deaths, both with a great incidence on 20 to 27 years-old mothers, vaginal delivery and singleton pregnancy. Low birth weight was positively related to early neonatal deaths. Conclusions: perinatal mortality presented a statistical correlation in gestational age, birth weight, and type of delivery. The PMC in our study was higher than other Brazilian capitals

Image dataset of urine test results on petri dishes for deep learning classification

    No full text
Recent advancements in image analysis and interpretation technologies using computer vision techniques have shown potential for novel applications in clinical microbiology laboratories to support task automation aiming for faster and more reliable diagnostics. Deep learning models can be a valuable tool in the screening process, helping technicians spend less time classifying no-growth results and quickly separating the categories of tests that deserve further analysis. In this context, creating datasets with correctly classified images is fundamental for developing and improving such models. Therefore, a dataset of urine test Petri dishes images was collected following a standardized process, with controlled conditions of positioning and lighting. Image acquisition was conducted by applying a hardware chamber equipped with a led lightning source and a smartphone camera with 12 MP resolution. A software application was developed to support image classification and handling. Experienced microbiologists classified the images according to the positive, negative, and uncertain test results. The resulting dataset contains a total of 1500 images and can support the development of deep learning algorithms to classify urine exams according to their microbial growth

NEOTROPICAL CARNIVORES: a data set on carnivore distribution in the Neotropics

    No full text
Mammalian carnivores are considered a key group in maintaining ecological health and can indicate potential ecological integrity in landscapes where they occur. Carnivores also hold high conservation value and their habitat requirements can guide management and conservation plans. The order Carnivora has 84 species from 8 families in the Neotropical region: Canidae; Felidae; Mephitidae; Mustelidae; Otariidae; Phocidae; Procyonidae; and Ursidae. Herein, we include published and unpublished data on native terrestrial Neotropical carnivores (Canidae; Felidae; Mephitidae; Mustelidae; Procyonidae; and Ursidae). NEOTROPICAL CARNIVORES is a publicly available data set that includes 99,605 data entries from 35,511 unique georeferenced coordinates. Detection/non-detection and quantitative data were obtained from 1818 to 2018 by researchers, governmental agencies, non-governmental organizations, and private consultants. Data were collected using several methods including camera trapping, museum collections, roadkill, line transect, and opportunistic records. Literature (peer-reviewed and grey literature) from Portuguese, Spanish and English were incorporated in this compilation. Most of the data set consists of detection data entries (n = 79,343; 79.7%) but also includes non-detection data (n = 20,262; 20.3%). Of those, 43.3% also include count data (n = 43,151). The information available in NEOTROPICAL CARNIVORES will contribute to macroecological, ecological, and conservation questions in multiple spatio-temporal perspectives. As carnivores play key roles in trophic interactions, a better understanding of their distribution and habitat requirements are essential to establish conservation management plans and safeguard the future ecological health of Neotropical ecosystems. Our data paper, combined with other large-scale data sets, has great potential to clarify species distribution and related ecological processes within the Neotropics.
