    Get PDF
Purpose ā€“ In the backdrop of job demands-resources model, the purpose of this paper is to investigate the effect of selected job resources (job autonomy and rewards and recognition) and job demands (problem with work) on innovative work behaviour through the mediation of employee engagement in the higher education sector of India. Design/methodology/approach ā€“ The sample consists of randomly selected 275 teachers from higher education institutions from a city in India. This study used PLS-SEMfor data analysis. Findings ā€“ The results suggest that employee engagement associates closely with innovative work behaviour. Job autonomy, one of the resources, affects innovative work behaviour directly and its effect does not move via employee engagement. Further, reward and recognition does not impact innovative work behaviour directly, rather, its effect moves through employee engagement. Finally, the work suggests that employee engagement mediates between selected job resources and job demands and innovative work behaviour. Research limitations/implications ā€“ This study can be extended to include more demands and resources which are unique to academic institutions. For example, a transparent career path to all teachers or a high-octane research culture can serve as a boon. Additionally, their interaction effect can also be studied. The present study being a cross-sectional study, at best, offers a snap-shot view of relationship among the variables. Practical implications ā€“ This study shall help organizations to use job resources and job demands to enhance teachersā€™ engagement and innovative work behaviour. Speciļ¬cally, results of this study offer a reason to academic institutions to give more autonomy and rewards to their teachers to eke out innovative work behaviour. Social implications ā€“ Firstly, this study will have a positive outcome for students who will be the prime beneļ¬ciaries of innovative work behaviour of teachers. Secondly, broadly the society and its constituents will get beneļ¬ted by improvement in research outcomes. Originality/value ā€“ The outcome of this study proposes that job autonomy and reward and recognition do not connect with employee engagement and innovative work behaviour in a known way

    Get PDF
Foliicolous lichens, i.e. lichens colonizing on leaves of vascular plants, are always considered as one of the best bioindicators of human disturbance and microclimatic conditions of a forest, and their occurrence in India is mainly confined to tropical regions of Eastern Himalaya and Western Ghats. During a field trip to Nandhaur Range Lakhan mandi, Haldwani, Kumaun Himalaya, the authors found leaves of Shorea robusta heavily colonized by foliicolous lichens. The identification of the collected samples revealed the occurrence of 6 species of lichens all of which are new addition to the lichen flora of Uttarakhand. The preliminary data on diversity and distribution of the foliicolous lichen will act as baseline to conduct biomonitoring studies in the area, since foliicolous lichens are considered as the best bioindicator of climate change

AbstractA dissolution method with robust high performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) analysis for immediate release tablet formulation was developed and validated to meet the requirement as per International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) and United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) guidelines. The method involved the use of Agilent ZORBAX Eclipse XDB C18 column, and temperature was maintained at 30Ā°C. After optimization, the mobile phase was selected as phosphate buffer (KH2PO4, 30mM) : ACN (60:40, v/v) with pH 3.0, and retention time Rt was found as 3.24, 4.16, and 2.55min for paracetamol (PCM), chlorpheniramine maleate (CPM) and phenylephrine hydrochloride (PH) respectively at 265nm and at a flow rate of 1mL/min. The relative standard deviation (%RSD) for 6 replicate measurements was found to be less than 2%. Furthermore net analyte signal standard addition method (NASSAM) with spectrophotometer was performed for standard and liquid oral suspension. On the basis of selectivity, sensitivity and accuracy analysis, it was confirmed that this novel method could be useful for simultaneous estimation of the given drug combinations. Two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was applied for evaluating the statistical difference between the assay results obtained via both NASSAM and RPā€“HPLC methods and ultimately no significant difference was found between both the methods. All the methods and results were acceptable and confirmed that the method was suitable for intended use

Over the past 2 years, the Coronavirus has rapidly spread to all parts of the world. Scientist and researchers are continuing their research to find a permanent cure. As the number of cases are increasing, so the tests are for Coronavirus is increasing rapidly, it is impossible to maintain data of test due to the time and cost factors. Big data is very helpful to maintain the track record of the COVID-19 infected patients in a very systematic way and will reduce the time delay for the results of the medical tests and modulate doctors to give proper medical treatment to the infected person. Big data analytics play an important role in building knowledge, studies required in making decisions and precautionary measures. However, due to the vast amount of data available on COVID-19 from various sources, there is a need to review the roles of big data analysis in controlling and tracking the spread of COVID-19, presenting the main challenges and directions of COVID-19 data analysis, as well as providing a framework on the related existing applications and studies to facilitate future research on COVID-19 analysis. Protein kinase B (PknB) of Mycobacterium tuberculosisIs essential for growth of the pathogenin vitroas well as for survival within the host

    Get PDF
The Mycobacterium tuberculosis protein kinase B (PknB) comprises an intracellular kinase domain, connected through a transmembrane domain to an extracellular region that contains four PASTA domains. The present study describes the comprehensive analysis of different domains of PknB in the context of viability in avirulent and virulent mycobacteria. We find stringent regulation of PknB expression necessary for cell survival, with depletion or overexpression of PknB leading to cell death. Although PknB-mediated kinase activity is essential for cell survival, active kinase lacking the transmembrane or extracellular domain fails to complement conditional mutants not expressing PknB. By creating chimeric kinases, we find that the intracellular kinase domain has unique functions in the virulent strain, which cannot be substituted by other kinases. Interestingly, we find that although the presence of the C-terminal PASTA domain is dispensable in the avirulent M. smegmatis, all four PASTA domains are essential in M. tuberculosis. The differential behavior of PknB vis-a-vis the number of essential PASTA domains and the specificity of kinase domain functions suggest that PknB-mediated growth and signaling events differ in virulent compared with avirulent mycobacteria. Mouse infection studies performed to determine the role of PknB in mediating pathogen survival in the host demonstrate that PknB is not only critical for growth of the pathogen in vitro but is also essential for the survival of the pathogen in the host

This proposal will discuss previous literature reviews concerning Work-Life balance as a vast matter and topic through the Human Resource Management realms scope. Several readings have observed the benefits of work-life policies in countless firms across the world. The consequences designated that part-time workers practiced lesser work-life balance levels in this specific example compared to full-time workers in the same industry. Other closes were made, such as how work-life persuaders changed with gender, wedded status, personal position, and educational grade. This study displays that organizational culture and organization provision are subsidizing factors in how work-life balance practices are supposed and qualified. On the other hand, the purpose of this study is to better understand work-family decision making by investigating episodes of time-based work-life conflict in which individuals indicate that they made clear decisions to choose work over family or family overwork. Therefore, this study seeks to survey the organizational work plan approaches and schedules that can be planned in encouraging and achieving work-life balance

This work presents an outline for adopting industry 4.0 enabling technologies, and appropriate strategies are prioritized to implement them. A hybrid fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) approaches are applied to achieve the objectives. The enabling technologies and strategies were identified based on the literature review and expertā€™s opinions, a total of 26 enabling technologies and eight strategies were identified. Later fuzzy AHP technique is used to rank the enablers and TOPSIS is applied to order the implementation strategies. From 26 enablers, a total of ten enabling technologies were found to be the most effective. Artificial intelligence (AI), top management commitment and support, virtual reality, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems were the top-ranked enablers in the list, whereas edge computing was the least effective enabler. Among the strategies, lean manufacturing, green supply chain and logistics, and integrated and smart manufacturing systems were the top priorities in implementing industry 4.0, while recruiting and managing talents was the least important strategy in the study. The findings from this framework will provide a deep insight to the managers and practitioners of MSMEs to adopt the industry 4.0 technologies in their organizations
