improving bounds for averages along curves
We establish local mapping properties for averages on curves. The
exponents are sharp except for endpoints.Comment: 37 pages, simplified argument (no further need for algebraic

Endpoint multiplier theorems of Marcinkiewicz type
We establish sharp (H^1, L^{1,q}) and local (L \log^r L, L^{1,q}) mapping
properties for rough one-dimensional multipliers. In particular, we show that
the multipliers in the Marcinkiewicz multiplier theorem map H^1 to L^{1,\infty}
and L \log^{1/2} L to L^{1,\infty}, and that these estimates are sharp.Comment: 28 pages, no figures, submitted to Revista Mat. Ibe
Personal Background Interview of Jim McBarron
Jim McBarron exhibits a wealth of knowledge gathered from more than 40 years of experience with NASA, EVA, and spacesuits. His biography, progression of work at NASA, impact on EVA and the U.S. spacesuit, and career accomplishments are of interest to many. Wright, from the JSC History Office, conducted a personal background interview with McBarron. This interview highlighted the influences and decision-making methods that impacted McBarron's technical and management contributions to the space program. Attendees gained insight on the external and internal NASA influences on career progression within the EVA and spacesuit, and the type of accomplishments and technical advances that committed individuals can make. He concluded the presentation with a question and answer period that included a brief discussion about close calls and Russian spacesuits
AFES Circular 80
To remain competitive, commercial vegetable producers require updated information on the performance of new vegetable varieties under the soil and climatic conditions of southcentral Alaska. Variety trials provide the opportunity to evaluate potentially adapted plant material. Although many varieties are developed in environments considerably different from that of southcentral Alaska, some may prove to be useful to
commercial growers in Alaska. The information on new varieties must be collected over several growing seasons to provide sufficient confidence in the observed performance. Additionally, each year of the performance trials, new varieties are grown with traditional or standard varieties which are used to compare the quality of the new varieties. Commercial production of new varieties should be considered after several years of variety trial work with initial plantings on a small production scale.Introduction -- Overview -- Seed Source List -- Weather Summary -- Broccoli -- Cabbage -- Carrots -- Lettuce -- Potatoe
A tale of two cities
Across much of Africa, cities are growing quickly. Current
projections estimate that by 2050, 60 per cent of the
population will be living in urban areas – half of them in
slums. Many of these people have little access to services such as
clean water and sanitation, and the UN has identified fixing this as a
major priority

The Interactive Research Methods Lab: An Open Innovation
An open innovation model eliminates traditional barriers between practitioners, universities, and other sources of innovation, research, and development. Open innovation also eliminates boundaries inside a university, including interdisciplinary and interdepartmental ones. The Interactive Research Methods Lab team members will share a short video about the IRML submitted for the Sage Innovators Award and will answer the following questions: Why do we consider the IRML an open innovation? How does the IRML adhere to open access, educational resources, science, and source principles?
