According to a report by Department of Social Welfare Malaysia (http://www.jkm.gov.my), there are approximately 277, 509  registered disabled people in Malaysia  since November 2009. The growing  number of people with disabilities in Malaysia indicates the importance of safeguarding the interest by this special underserved group in Malaysia. Thus, this study aims to investigate the accessibility of website for disabled user in Malaysia. A total of 100 websites were chosen from four Malaysia portals; (i) Malaysian Information Network on Disabilities (MIND), (ii) Malaysian Christian Association for Relief (Malaysian CARE), (iii) Kiwanis Disability Information and Support Centre (KDISC) and (iv) Hati. The study revealed several issues pertaining  to website accessibility for people with disabilities in Malaysia. We end our study with few recommendations for  to improve few of the accessibility criteria that may be overlooked by website developers

A Development of Kansei Words for Robotic Therapy and the Elderly

Age has physical and psychological effects. Mental or emotional access is more difficult. It is easily effected and can lead to suicide. Despite limited attention and solutions, robotic therapy has given the elderly new hope. The learning environment is used to stimulate positive emotion while interacting with robots. It has grown in popularity as a potential benefit for the elderly to improve their health and social consequences. The goal is to create a list of emotion keywords or Kansei Words that can be used in robotic learning therapy design. These findings lay the groundwork for future research on elderly Kansei Robotic therapy. The older adults will eventually experience unavoidable changes in their cognitive, physical and perceptual ability.Several assistive technologies have been used to support the physical, emotional and social needs of the elderly to enable them to perform their daily activities but lack the support for the activities related to their spiritual needs. We present our work where we explore the intersections of technological development and spiritual practices. As we argue that supporting the praying needs will support the spiritual needs of the older adults, we proposed a technological aid for supporting the praying activity among elderly Muslims as a form of mediated practice. We present the description and design of our Smart Prayer Mat, a smart praying mat embedded with a textile-based sensor that prompts audible cues to alert elderly Muslims with cognitive impairment of the completion of ritual cycles (raka’ahs) while performing their prayer practices. This novel aid will shed new light upon the convergence of technology and spirituality, techno spiritual space

Virtual classroom environment (VCE) is a platform for learners as it has the potential to increase learners’ academic performance. The main objective of this paper is to investigate the readiness for VCE among students at a local university in Malaysia. A survey was conducted with 217 respondents. Questionnaires administered comprised sections on the demography of respondents and their readiness for virtual classroom and Technology Readiness Index 2.0 (TRI 2.0). The Kruskal-Wallis test was conducted in the data analysis. The dimensions of the Technology Readiness Index; (i) insecurity, (ii) discomfort, (iii) innovativeness , and (iv) optimism, were analysed. The results showed only the ‘discomfort’ dimension had a statistically different average total score between the three generation groups according to their age, namely; (i) Generation X (those born between 1965 and 1979); (ii) Generation Y (born between 1980 and 1994); and (iii) Generation Z (born in 1995 or later). The mean rank of total score for ‘discomfort’ shows that Generation X has the highest mean rank among the three generation groups. Thus, the results suggest future qualitative studies to unravel the ‘discomfort’ dimension for Generation X group

The wireless and ambulatory posture monitoring system monitors the movement and posture change of the human body with respect to the g-line. It is crucial to monitor the posture health of the ophthalmologist who spends a prolonged period on the static sitting posture while operating on the slit lamp which leads to any painful experience. The motivation of the proposed system is to improve the ergonomics of the ophthalmologist on their working environment and reduce any occupational potential hazard which may prompt Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WMSDs). The proposed system also induced a wireless system by using XBee wireless units to reduce the use of the wire that may tangle on the study subject which causes any uncomfortable experience to the study subject during the human trial. Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sensor which consists of an Accelerometer, a Gyroscope and a Magnetometer is used to measure the angle of deviation of the body segment with respect to the g-line. The data is tabulated and presented into the graphical method to identify and extract the properties of the graph on each different static sitting posture which later are used for posture recognition

Bullying Problems among School Students Abstract: Discipline among students is often associated with bullying. This act of bullying can be categorized into two that are physical bullying and mentally bullying. The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the extent to which bullying among high school students occurred within the school district involving daily high school and boarding students. The specific objectives of this study were to identify the causes of student bullying, to examine the age group of students who are more likely to be bullied and bullied, and to identify measures that can be taken to prevent bullying among students. In this study, there are two methods used that involve qualitative methods for data and information to be analyzed. Qualitative methods are implemented using semi-structured interviews and library methods. In conclusion, it can be said that there are many symptoms of bullying among students related to emotional and physical. Parents and teachers should play a role in addressing their emotions to reduce and eradicate bullying culture among students in the day-to-day or boarding school.
