Contact with objects and people in the hospital environment, promotes the spread of germs that threaten patients, so hand washing prevents infection. Adherence to hand washing in health care officials was measured according to the five moments of hand hygiene WHO. Transversal and quantitative study, which evaluated the adherence to hand washing outpatient and emergency personnel of Assbasalud ESE and impact after training. It was conducted in three phases: pre-training, training and post-training. The final sample was 128 employees in nine Bank suite´s (30%). The adhesion measurement was approved by the Executive Quality Committee Assbasalud ESE. Were taken into account hand hygiene, use of enamels, jewels were evaluated; and relevance of the substances used for aseptic. The overall adherence of handwashing in Phase 1 and 61,8% for the 2nd phase of 78,3% was obtained, with positive results in relation to national and international studies. It is concluded that hand washing, valued at 67,1 % during the thirdth quarter of 2013, is an excellent strategy to strengthen patient safety and prevent hospital infections.

Congenital heart defects are the third cause of congenital malformations and one of the main causes of mortality in the neonatal period in the world; they originate from alterations in embryonic development. The incidence is variable; in Colombia, it is estimated that they affect 2 to 3% of live newborns. In 2015, 20.8% of children under the age of five affected with congenital heart defects died from these disorders. This is a descriptive and retrospective study. Data of 252 clinical records of patients diagnosed with congenital heart defect between 2010 and 2016 were included, showing that 56% of this population were female. Acyanotic Congenital Heart Diseases predominated (87%). The highest prevalence was patent ductus arteriosus (35.3%). Doppler echocardiography was used in 98.4% of cases; regarding management, 47.2% of patients were in follow-up, this being more common than medical or surgical alternatives. In conclusion patent ductus arteriosus, ventricular septal defect and interatrial septal defect are the most frequent acyanotic heart diseases in the population under study and they are associated with pulmonary hypertension that require higher follow-up. Tetralogy of Fallot was the most common cyanotic congenital heart disease.
Is the university a cultural scenario to reality?, is the primary idea that emerges
as a critical proposal, on the teaching-education-subject, to how there are
forming "light" professionals, problem has its roots since the individual is part of
formal education, in this case from physician perspective, longing if you like as
a dream or utopia that this holds excellent scientific bases, with technology
support and, also be critical and aesthetic. That receives preparation not for the
ideal, but to a changing reality, today so heavily influenced by commercialism,
that is inevitable and deeply affecting.
Part of a project planned and implemented in dialogue with authors who made
possible the building several times sense of the college categories and the
reality, with a diachronic look of the question. With similar emphasis on working
a talk with high quality players who bring their experiences and expertise
through semi-structured interviews and written; but is the formative
autobiography of the writer which mainly comes to life to mix some of the
authors and many of the players in a fluid narrative that is assumed by an
object, in a soliloquy that embodies and expounds on the problem, giving the
reader inputs for reflection and for questioning in this regard. Life stories, are a
form of autobiography, which became widely as technical research with the
First Chicago School" in the late XIX century (promoted by John Dewey and
William James) and resumed its importance in the last 40 years; developed in
Europe by William Thomas and Florián Znaniecki with life history "Polish
Peasant" by what they called "participant observation" in 1918 and later, by
Oscar Lewis who wrote "Anthropology of poverty" and "The Children of
Sanchez" using this technique for research in Mexico in 1959 and 1961. And
many more; in this project by Oscar Alberto Villegas Arenas in Manizales 2010.
In this production is highlighted and used critical thinking that is fundamental
basis of the Education Teaching Master at the Universidad de Manizales and in
the course of it, it was giving the endorsement and epistemology support of the
research process and of this article
