Crocus thomasii Ten. i Crocus variegatus Hoppe & Hornsch (Iridaceae) na kvarnerskim otocima
The genus Crocus L. is largely undersampled on Quarnero iIslands. Discovery of autumn-flowering Crocus thomasii Ten. was reported for the islands of Pag and Rab, while early-spring species Crocus variegatus Hoppe & Hornsch. was found on the island of Rab. Field surveys out of growing season should not be neglected, in order to gain data on some taxa, currently known as rare.
The rare myco-heterotrophic orchid Epipogium aphyllum Swartz was recorded on Mt Velebit for the first time. It was found in beech and fir dominated primeval forest (ass. Omphalodo-Fagetum) in Klepina duliba. After Mt Medvednica, PlitviÄka jezera and Samoborsko gorje, this is the fourth record of that species in Croatia in the last eighty years. Zabilježena je u bukovo-jelovoj praÅ”umi (as. Omphalodo-Fagetum) u Klepinoj dulibi.
Novi nalazi rijetke mahovine Buxbaumia aphylla Hedw. u Hrvatskoj
A rare moss Buxbaumia aphylla was only recently found in Croatia. Here we report five new localities, one from Dilj Gora and four from Mt. Papuk. Small populations on bare acidic soil within the forest and along the forest edges were registered.
Flora i vegetacija otoÄiÄa Mlin (Pakleni otoci, istoÄni Jadran)
A floristic and vegetation study of the islet Mlin (Pakleni Archipelago near island of Hvar, Central Dalmatia, surface area of 1.1 ha) resulted in the finding of 39 taxa and three plant associations belonging to halophytic vegetation, macchia and garigues. The islet is not a subject to any human interference, so the floristic diversity and vegetation structure are the result of the geographical position, exposure to the influences of the open sea (wind, waves) and non-anthropogenic stochastic events.
Raznolikost orhideja (Orchidaceae) u zbirci Hrvatskog Herbarija sensu stricto (ZA)
The collection of orchids within Herbarium Croaticum sensu stricto keeps as many as 1373 herbarium sheets, belonging to 91 taxa (25 genera, 76 species, 11 subspecies and four hybrids). The majority of the collection originates from Croatia while the rest are from neighbouring countries (Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Italy, North Macedonia and Montenegro). The most numerous genera are Orchis, Ophrys and Anacamptis, while the most numerous taxa are Gymnadenia conopsea, Platanthera bifolia, Anacamptis morio, Neotinea tridentata, Cephalanthera longifolia and Dactylorhiza maculata. The oldest herbarium sheets date back to 1883 and the average age of the collection is 113 years. The main collectors are Ljudevit Rossi, Dragutin Hirc and Ambroz HaraÄiÄ. The collection keeps holotypes and isotypes of Epipactis rivularis and Ophrys dinarica, while exsiccates of Malaxis monophyllos, Herminium monorchis and Ophrys Ć muellneri are the only evidence of their existence in Croatia. All sheets were digitized and are publically available via virtual herbarium.Zbirka orhideja u Hrvatskom herbariju sensu stricto sadrži ukupno 1373 herbarijskih listova, koji pripadaju 91 svojti (25 rodova, 76 vrsta, 11 podvrsta i Äetiri hibrida). VeÄina zbirke potjeÄe iz Hrvatske i nekoliko susjednih zemalja (Slovenija, Srbija, Bosna i Hercegovina, Italija, Sjeverna Makedonija i Crna Gora). Najbrojniji rodovi su Orchis, Ophrys i Anacamptis, a vrste Gymnadenia conopsea, Platanthera bifolia, Anacamptis morio, Neotinea tridentata, Cephalanthera longifolia i Dactylorhiza maculata.
Araneus alsine (Walckenaer, 1802), (Araneidae, Araneae, Arachnida) ā rijetka i vjerojatno ugrožena vrsta pauka u hrvatskoj fauni
The present paper deals with the distribution of Araneus alsine (Walckenaer, 1802) (syn.: Epeira alsine Walckenaer, 1805; E. lutea C. L. Koch, 1837) in Croatia and its habitats based on literature data, museum collections and field findings. The spider A. alsine was captured in Croatiaās most diverse and oldest peatland, the Äon MoÄvar Botanical Reserve at BlatuÅ”a. The biology, ecology and threat status of A. alsine are discussed.U radu je navedena rasprostranjenost i tip staniÅ”ta pauka Araneus alsine (Walckenaer, 1802) (syn.: Epeira alsine Walckenaer, 1805; E. lutea C. A CONTRIBUTION TO THE BRYOPHYTE FLORA OF CROATIA IV. ŽUMBERAÄKA GORA MTS
A bryological fi eld survey in the ŽumberaÄka gora Mts carried out in July, 2014 resulted in a list of 168 species (34 liverworts and 134 mosses). Two species are reported for the fi rst time from Croatia (Pseudoleskeella rupestris, Riccardia incurvata). Th ree species are included in the Red data book of European bryophytes (Mannia triandra, Anomodon rostratus, and Rhynchostegiella tenuicaulis). Mannia triandra is listed in the Bern Convention and the EU Habitats and Species Directive, as well
Rijetka vrsta Sporobolus pungens (Schreber) Kunth (Poaceae) u Lastovskom otoÄju
Rare and critically endangered grass species Sporobolus pungens has been recorded on the islet of Mrkljenta (Obrovac). This is its first finding within poorly investigated Lastovo Archipelago. Although being psammophytic, the species grew in crevices of the flattened horizontal rocks within Crithmo-Limonietea vegetation.Rijetka i kritiÄno ugrožena vrsta trave Sporobolus pungens pronaÄena je na otoÄiÄu Mrkljenta (Obrovac). Ovo je njen prvi nalaz u slabo istraženom Lastovskom otoÄju. Iako je psamofit, vrsta je rasla u Å”krapama unutar vegetacije Crithmo-Limonietea
Vaskularna i mahovinska flora otoÄiÄa Mrduja (IstoÄni Jadran, Hrvatska)
The flora of the minute islet of Mrduja (1.3 ha), located between the Middle Adriatic islands of BraÄ and Å olta, was studied in 2017, resulting in the recording of 63 taxa of vascular plants and six bryophytes. The predominance of the Poaceae (13%) and Fabaceae (8%), terophytes (30%) and Mediterranean floral elements (73%) clearly demonstrates the Mediterranean phyto-geographical position of the islet. Nearly one third of taxa were found on anthropogenic habitats, even though they are exceptionally rare on the islet, proving that even a slight human presence can have a profound influence on the flora of an island.Tijekom 2017. provedena su istraživanja vaskularne flore i flore mahovina otoÄiÄa Mrduje (1.3 ha), smjeÅ”tenog izmeÄu srednjodalmatinskih otoka BraÄa i Å olte.
