sistemes de correcció de detecció i correcció d’errors per al domini biomèdicThe objective of this work is the analysis of errors contained in a corpus of medical reports in
natural language and the design of a typology of errors, as there was no systematic review on
verification and correction of errors in clinical documentation in Spanish. In the development
of automatic detection and correction systems, it is of great interest to delve into the nature of
the linguistic errors that occur in clinical reports, in order to detect and treat them properly.
The results show that omission errors are the most frequent ones in the analyzed sample, and
that word length certainly influences error frequency. The typification of error patterns provided
is enabling the development of a module based on linguistic knowledge, which is currently in
progress. This will help to improve the performance of error detection and correction systems for
the biomedical domain. This work was supported by the Spanish National Research Agency (AEI) through project LaTe4PSP

Psychographic Traits Identification based on political ideology: An author analysis study on spanish politicians tweets posted in 2020
In general, people are usually more reluctant to follow advice and directions from politicians who do not have their ideology. In extreme cases, people can be heavily biased in favour of a political party at the same time that they are in sharp disagreement with others, which may lead to irrational decision making and can put people’s lives at risk by ignoring certain recommendations from the authorities. Therefore, considering political ideology as a psychographic trait can improve political micro-targeting by helping public authorities and local governments to adopt better communication policies during crises. In this work, we explore the reliability of determining psychographic traits concerning political ideology. Our contribution is twofold. On the one hand, we release the PoliCorpus-2020, a dataset composed by Spanish politicians’ tweets posted in 2020. On the other hand, we conduct two authorship analysis tasks with the aforementioned dataset: an author profiling task to extract demographic and psychographic traits, and an authorship attribution task to determine the author of an anonymous text in the political domain. Both experiments are evaluated with several neural network architectures grounded on explainable linguistic features, statistical features, and state-of-the-art transformers. In addition, we test whether the neural network models can be transferred to detect the political ideology of citizens. Our results indicate that the linguistic features are good indicators for identifying finegrained political affiliation, they boost the performance of neural network models when combined with embedding-based features, and they preserve relevant information when the models are tested with ordinary citizens. Besides, we found that lexical and morphosyntactic features are more effective on author profiling, whereas stylometric features are more effective in authorship attribution.publishedVersio
[ENG] The acquisition of cross-curricular competences is a key issue in the learning process defined in the new degrees adapted to the European Higher Education Area. In this paper we present the approach we have followed to foster the acquisition of cross-curricular competences such as oral communication, group work, the search of resources in the Internet and analysis and synthesis capabilities. Our approach is based on the development of group presentations that will be evaluated by students (peer-assessment) and professors according to a set of quality criteria. This paper explains the process followed in the experience, the results of the different assessments made by students, a comparison with the professors’ evaluations and, finally, the satisfaction of the students and professors with the experience

Resumen de FinancES 2023: Análisis de Sentimiento Dirigido en Español sobre Finanzas
This paper presents the FinancES 2023 shared task, organized in the IberLEF 2023 workshop, within the framework of the 39th International Conference of the Spanish Society for Natural Language Processing (SEPLN 2023). The aim of this task is to extend the challenge of sentiment analysis in Spanish to the financial domain, in order to extract the sentiment that a piece of financial information can have for several actors, including the main economic target (i.e., the specific company or asset where the economic fact applies), other companies (i.e., the entities producing the goods and services that others consume) and consumers (i.e., households/individuals). Specifically, two tasks are proposed and evaluated separately. One to identify the main target and to determine the sentiment polarity towards such target, and a second task to assess the sentiment towards both other companies and consumers. The ranking includes results for 10 different teams proposing novel approaches, mostly based on Transformers and generative language models. This work is part of the research project AIInFunds (PDC2021-121112-I00) funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and by the European Union NextGenerationEU/PRTR. Real-Time PCR based test for the early diagnosis of Haplosporidium pinnae affecting fan mussel Pinna nobilis
All sequence files are
available from the Genbank database (accession
numbers MK142774-MK142779). The protocol is
available from protocols.io (DOI: dx.doi.org/10.
17504/protocols.io.xmyfk7w).Noble pen shell or fan mussel, Pinna nobilis Linnaeus (1758), protected since 1992, was
incorporated into the Spanish Catalogue of Threatened Species (Category: Vulnerable,
Royal Decree 139/2011). The status is presently in the process of being catalogued as critically
endangered, pending approval by Spanish Government (https://www.mapama.gob.es/
es/biodiversidad/participacion-publica/Borrador_OM_situacion_critica.aspx). The International
Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) alerted the countries of the Mediterranean
basin to the “emergent situation” due to serious mortality events suffered by the fan
mussel, putting it in serious risk of extinction. Thus, emergency actions have been implemented
by Spanish authorities in which several research institutes from all over the country
are involved. The parasite, Haplosporidium pinnae, was recently characterized by histology,
TEM, SEM and molecular biology techniques and it was considered responsible for the
mass mortality of P. nobilis in the Mediterranean Sea. In this context, the aim of this study
has been to develop species-specific quantitative PCR (qPCR) protocol carrying out a fast,
specific and effective molecular diagnose of H. pinnae. In this sense, the detection limit for
qPCR was equal to 30 copies of SSU rDNA / ng of DNA using plasmid alone and when
100ng DNA of non-infected oyster were added. The qPCR assay revealed that 94% of the
32 analysed mantle tissues of fan mussel were infected by H. pinnae, showing a high sensitivity
and specificity for its detection (100% if we don’t consider negative and too much
degraded samples). This technique will allow us to make quicker follow-ups of the disease,
allowing us to get a better understanding of its evolution in order to help in the rescue of P.
