General analysis of the rare Bc->D^*_s l^+ l^- decay beyond the standard model
The general analysis of the rare Bc->D^*_s l^+ l^- decay is presented by
using the most general, model independent effective Hamiltonian. The
dependencies of the branching ratios, longitudinal, normal and transversal
polarization asymmetries for l^- and the combined asymmetries for l^- and l^+
on the new Wilson coefficients are investigated. Our analysis shows that the
lepton polarization asymmetries are very sensitive to the scalar and tensor
type interactions, which will be very useful in looking for new physics beyond

Study of Bs-> \phi l^+ l^-$ Decay in a Single Universal Extra Dimension
Utilizing form factors calculated within the light-cone sum rules, we have
evaluated the decay branching ratios of and in a single universal extra dimension model (UED), which is
viewed as one of the alternative theories beyond the standard model (SM). For
the decay , the dilepton invariant mass spectra, the
forward-backward asymmetry, and double lepton polarization are also calculated.
For each case, we compared the obtained results with predictions of the SM. In
lower values of the compactification factor 1/R, the only parameter in this
model, we see the considerable discrepancy between the UED and SM models.
However, when 1/R increases, the results of UED tend to diminish and at , two models have approximately the same predictions.
Compared with data from CDF of , the 1/R tends to be
larger than . We also note that the zero crossing point of
the forward-backward asymmetry is become smaller, which will be an important
plat to prob the contribution from the extra dimension model. The results
obtained in this work will be very useful in searching new physics beyond SM.
Moreover, the order of magnitude for branching ratios shows a possibility to
study these channels at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), CDF and the future

The rare B_s-> \phi \ell^+ \ell^- decay is investigated by using the most
general model independent effective Hamiltonian for . The
calculated Br(B_s \rar \phi \mu^+ \mu^-) = 1.92 \times 10^{-6} is in
consistent with the experimental upper bound. The dependencies of the branching
ratios and polarization asymmetries of leptons and combined lepton-antilepton
asymmetries on the new Wilson coefficients are presented. The analysis shows
that the branching ratios and the lepton polarization asymmetries are very
sensitive to the scalar and tensor type interactions. The results obtained in
this work will be very useful in searching new physics beyond the standard

Impact of clinical phenotypes on management and outcomes in European atrial fibrillation patients: a report from the ESC-EHRA EURObservational Research Programme in AF (EORP-AF) General Long-Term Registry
Background: Epidemiological studies in atrial fibrillation (AF) illustrate that clinical complexity increase the risk of major adverse outcomes. We aimed to describe European AF patients\u2019 clinical phenotypes and analyse the differential clinical course. Methods: We performed a hierarchical cluster analysis based on Ward\u2019s Method and Squared Euclidean Distance using 22 clinical binary variables, identifying the optimal number of clusters. We investigated differences in clinical management, use of healthcare resources and outcomes in a cohort of European AF patients from a Europe-wide observational registry. Results: A total of 9363 were available for this analysis. We identified three clusters: Cluster 1 (n = 3634; 38.8%) characterized by older patients and prevalent non-cardiac comorbidities; Cluster 2 (n = 2774; 29.6%) characterized by younger patients with low prevalence of comorbidities; Cluster 3 (n = 2955;31.6%) characterized by patients\u2019 prevalent cardiovascular risk factors/comorbidities. Over a mean follow-up of 22.5 months, Cluster 3 had the highest rate of cardiovascular events, all-cause death, and the composite outcome (combining the previous two) compared to Cluster 1 and Cluster 2 (all P <.001). An adjusted Cox regression showed that compared to Cluster 2, Cluster 3 (hazard ratio (HR) 2.87, 95% confidence interval (CI) 2.27\u20133.62; HR 3.42, 95%CI 2.72\u20134.31; HR 2.79, 95%CI 2.32\u20133.35), and Cluster 1 (HR 1.88, 95%CI 1.48\u20132.38; HR 2.50, 95%CI 1.98\u20133.15; HR 2.09, 95%CI 1.74\u20132.51) reported a higher risk for the three outcomes respectively. Conclusions: In European AF patients, three main clusters were identified, differentiated by differential presence of comorbidities. Both non-cardiac and cardiac comorbidities clusters were found to be associated with an increased risk of major adverse outcomes
Effects of antidotal therapy on testis tissue in organophosphate poisoning
Aims: The study was aimed to clarify whether toxic effects of organophosphorus compounds on ultrastructural changes in the testis tissue are reversible with antidotal treatment or not. Materials and methods: In this prospective, controlled, electron microscopic animal study, Wistar albino adult male rats were divided into 3 groups. 1st group received only isotonic sodium chloride. 2nd and 3rd groups received lethal dose of [(LD50) = 30 mg / kg] Methamidophos. 3rd group was treated with atropine and pralidoxime after cholinergic signs had evolved. Results: In testicular tissue samples of rats in 2nd group, we have found structural degenerative changes. The giant lipid droplets, dense mitochondria, agranĂŒler endoplasmic reticulum vacuolization have been observed. The thickness of membrana propria and electron density of Sertoli have been increased. Also findings of cytoplasmic lysis in most of the tubules, arrest in spermatogenic cells, immature release to lumen and apoptotic changes have been detected. In samples of 3rd group, degenerative changes in testicular tissue were similar to the 2nd group, and no significant structural improvement was proved after treatment. Conclusion: Our study revealed that acute exposure to Methamidophos causes important degenerative changes in all elements of testicular tissue; and those structural degenerative changes are not reversible with pharmacological drug treatment in the acute phase
