In the district of Bamako, the waterways are the preferred receptor of discharges from dyeing activities. These untreated discharges are a source of environmental and health problems. The objective of this study is to analyse the pollution of the waters of the Dianéguela River by the artisanal dyeing industry. The methodology was based on direct observation, surveys and analysis of some qualitative parameters of the dyeing wastewater and the waters of the Dianéguela River. The analysis of the colour of the water shows values that largely exceed the accepted standards (9460 UCV for point A, 980 UCV for point B and 24 UCV for point C). As for turbidity, the results show 109 NTU for point A, 47 NTU for point B and 5 NTU for point C. The BOD, COD, dissolved oxygen, colour, pH, orthophosphates, arsenic and conductivity analysed do not meet Malian discharge standards, nor the evaluation grid for good quality surface water. The consequences are the degradation of the quality of the water of the Dianéguela River and, by ricochet, of the Niger River, the proliferation of diseases and the nuisance caused to the neighbourhood. The sustainable management of dyeing effluents in Dianéguela requires the rehabilitation of the dyeing centre, the treatment of water by a purification plant, the sensitisation of dyers, and the rigorous application of regulations.

Vulnérabilité De La Commune Urbaine De Mopti Aux Inondations
The urban commune of Mopti, particularly the city of the same name, due to its geographical location (at the confluence of the Niger River and its main tributary, the Bani) is exposed to flooding episodes. The objective of this research is to show the vulnerability of the town to extreme rainfall and water events and to propose possible solutions to prevent flood risks. The methodological approach consisted in analysing daily rainfall and water data (flood and water level data) from the Mopti station using Excel and XLSTAT software. The analyses focus on the calculation of extreme rainfall and water indices and the determination of their return period. The results show that the frequency of rainfall and water events in the commune has increased since the mid-2000s, causing floods with an increasing number of victims and significant damage, due in particular to the commune's development problems. Faced with this challenge, one should take in to consideration of climate risks in local planning documents, a broad awareness of the population and strict compliance with the regulations in force
