In line with the contemporary requirements of the fashion market and the development of new production technologies, which can be adapted to these requirements, new opportunities are emerging in the production segment of the textile and clothing industry. This industry can be characterized as creative industry in which innovation leads to sustainable development and competitive advantage. Innovation of products in fashion industry is a continuous process which should be properly managed so that its outcome could produce satisfactory results. As Ekstroem and Karlsson state, customer needs analysis has become more important over the time. Based on this statement, companies are becoming more customers oriented, and they tend to involve customers in process of new product development in order to increase the value outcomes of customer participation in mentioned process. This paper presents the evaluation of textile products value creation through the implementation of innovations in the development of new products based on customer involvement in the new product development process by gathering customer opinions. The research part of this paper seeks to examine the degree of product value creation for customers based on their own involvement in the process of developing new products. Focusing on the place of the involvement of customers in the process of creating values in different phases of the product development process and the degree of customer satisfaction with the outcome of the process in which they took a role. A small number of papers actually focuses on examination of the level of customers involvement within the various phases of the process of developing new textile products, and this paper is mainly oriented on examination within idea generation phase which could serve as an aid in new product development "front-end" decision making. The results of this research could be used as a guidance for formulating the future strategic steps of innovation within new product development based on ideas generated under the influence of the dialog between companies and customers. Practical value of this paper is, also, reflected in encouraging domestic organizations to innovate and position themself more favourable while building widely recognizable brand. While accepting the fact that customers are at the center of attention and that they should not be approached with an "one size fits all" attitude, because different segments of customers have different expectations and different perceptions of values

Clay deposits are abundant in Serbia. Some of those deposits provide high quality raw material for ceramic industry, production of facade bricks, roof tiles and blocks. Lower quality raw materials can be used after an adequate dressing for production of building bricks. Sieve 0.063 mm residues of clays from few deposits most often used in domestic tile industry are presented in this paper. These deposits are "Staro Lojze", "Vrbovac", "TM Plana" "Kovačica", "Žabalj" and "Nadalj". The results obtained by macroscopic and microscopic identification of 0.063 mm sieve residues have shown significant differences in their mineral composition and content, visual appearance and mass percent of the residue in the sample. The samples have generally shown two composition types: a) calcium-carbonate and b) silicate. Calcium-carbonate type residues contain mostly calcite, limestone, loess nodules and shell (bivalves and gastropods) fragments. Silicate type residues most often contain quartz, micas, feldspars and other silicate mineral fragments

In this paper the subject of study is the characteristics of textile industry businesses in crisis conditions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The paper is based on the fact that economic entities in their operations often encounter disturbances caused by the action of a large number of factors that lead to a crisis in their operations and which imply the implementation of appropriate activities in order to overcome these disturbances. The textile industry is an economic branch that is sensitive to crisis disturbances and was particularly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The paper is structured so that it consists of three parts. In the first part of the paper, it studies the impact of the crisis on the operations of textile companies, with a special focus on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as on the necessity of applying the concepts of circularity and sustainability. In the second part of the paper, the impact of the pandemic on the EU textile industry is analyzed, both from the point of view of the characteristics of that impact, and from the point of view of the measures and future strategic directions of the development of this sector. In the final part of the paper, the study focuses on the business characteristics of the domestic textile sector, while analyzing its indicators in crisis conditions and in the period from the onset of the pandemic until today. It is concluded that the application of the concept of a circular and sustainable economy represents the only long-term solution for the exit of this sector from the crisis, as well as a condition for its further development

Associations of age with reward delay discounting and response inhibition in adolescents with bipolar disorders

    Get PDF
Bipolar disorders’ (BD) onset before age 18 is a potential marker for a more severe illness course. Adolescence is also a period of significant normative maturation of inhibitory control and reward-relevant decision-making processes, such as decreased delay discounting (i.e., decreased preference for smaller, immediate versus larger, delayed rewards). Adults with BD exhibit elevated delay discounting rates. Very little is known about developmental changes in delay discounting in adolescents with BD, or about associations between inhibitory control and delay discounting in BD. The present study addresses these questions

Trichinellosis is one of the most important foodborne diseases in the Eastern European countries. The main objective of this study was to investigate the epidemiological patterns of trichinellosis outbreaks that occurred between 2005 and 2016 in Vojvodina, a northern province of the Republic of Serbia. The average incidence was 3.5 per 100,000 inhabitants. A total of 828 people acquired the infection. The disease occurred in all age groups, slightly more often in males, and quite frequently in a severe form considering the high share of hospitalised patients and the fatal outcome rate (41.6 ± 31.1% and 0.4%, respectively). Trichinella spiralis was confirmed as the causative agent in eight outbreaks. The outbreaks usually occurred among family members due to the consumption of pork or traditional pork products from not tested backyard pigs. Veterinary control measures and the education of consumers and farmers should be implemented to control this zoonotic disease
