Inhibitory effect of citric acid on rancidity of frozen catfish (Silurus glanis)fillets
The effect of aqueous solution of citric acid (CA) on the lipid stability of the European catfish (Silurus glanis) fillets during frozen storage (up to 6 months) was investigated. Rancidity development was measured by several biochemical indices (free fatty acids, peroxides and TBA) and complemented by the measurement of expressible moisture and sensory evaluation (flesh odor, consistency and flesh appearance). The CA treatment led to some lower free fatty acids (6.43% oleic acid in total lipid at month 6), peroxides (7.98meq oxygen/kg lipids, at month 6) and secondary compounds formation (2.16mg malondialdehyde/kg fish sample). Lower peroxide, thiobarbituric acid-reactive substance (TBA), free fatty acids (during 0,3 and 6 months frozen storage), and expressible moisture (month 6) values were obtained from CA-treated fish fillets than the untreated (blank control) ones (P<0.05)
The study of establishment of rainbow trout culture and hatchery farms on Zayanderood’s River region in Caharmahal and Bakhtiyari Province
The aim of this study was to find the best location for establishment of rainbow trout culture and hatcheries farms on Zayanderood’s river region in Charmahal and Bakhtiyari province. This survey carried out over ten station along Zayanderood’s river. The result of physical and chemical analysis showd that the annual average of air temperature varied from 9.5oC - 10oC where the pH annual average value were between 7.5 and 8.8. the dissolve oxygen concentration in stations except in rainbow trout farm effluent were above 10 mg/l. the other chemical , pollutant as well as pesticides levels were under the limiting concentration for rainbow trout culture and Hatcheries activity. The plankton survey showed that the Bacillurophyta were the dominant group of phytoplankton where protozoa constituted the most abundant group of zooplankton the Benthic organisms sensitive to pollutant in particular Epirus were dominant group in all stations. In regard to fishes presence in river, five species of Ciprinidae, one species from Balitoridae and one species from salmonidae families were identified. The capacity for development of rainbow trout culture for tow phase period in Zayanderood’s river region with respect to self purification potential (self purification potential were determined from the oxidation of the effluent of the only active trout farm of the river region), minimum of 10 L/s water requirement for production of trout in concrete canal and pond system and 1 L/S water need for production in semi circular closed system were estimated to be 5202 metric tons
THz Multiple-Beam Manipulation by Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface with Independent Phase/Amplitude Control
| openaire: EC/H2020/956256/EU//META WIRELESStOur paper presents a real-time design using a digital metasurface that can control both the amplitude and phase of reflected waves. Our suggested based metasurface effectively manipulates both transverse electric (TE) and transverse magnetic (TM) reflected waves independently with angular stability up to 40° in the range (1.45-1.55) THz. We anticipate that such metasurfaces may be a good candidate for indoor wireless communication.Peer reviewe
Application of sinusoidal functions to partitioning crude protein and metabolizable energy intake between maintenance and growth in parent stock of broiler chickens
10 páginas, 5 tablas, 4 figuras. Most models developed for poultry are linear to the point where genetic potential is reached. Models reliant on the premise that growth rate determines requirements based on some fixed rate of nutrient utilization do not adequately represent the biological phenomena involved. Therefore, a dichotomy between the accepted theories of nutrient utilization in animals and the assumptions of mathematical models to predict and analyze those requirements is evident. Since, responses of animals to dietary energy, protein and amino acids are curvilinear phenomena, they should be evaluated as such to estimate optimum economic levels, rather than as biological maxima. The objective of this study was to apply two sinusoidal functions exhibiting curvilinear behaviour to estimate metabolizable energy (ME) and crude protein (CP) requirements for maintenance and growth in parent stock of boiler chickens. The functions were fitted by non-linear regression to estimate the parameters, from which other biological indicators were calculated. The results of fitting the functions to data sets and their statistical performance and the biological interpretability of the parameter estimates showed the models’ capability in describing the relationship between body weight (BW) gain and ME (or CP) intake in parent stock of broiler chickens. The estimated maintenance requirements and the determined values of ME and CP requirements for BW gain were consistent with values reported previously by other researchers. We are grateful to University of Guilan, Rasht, Iran for its

A sinusoidal equation as an alternative to classical growth functions to describe growth profiles in turkeys
7 páginas, 2 figuras, 4 tablas.Because of the relatively long growing cycle and the high cost of research into turkey production and nutrition, the potential benefits from modelling growth in this avian species are considerable. Though there are many studies aimed at evaluating animal growth models, the number of studies targeting growth models in turkeys is quite limited. In this paper we present a sinusoidal function to describe the evolution of growth in turkeys as a function of time based on data published by Aviagen. The new function was evaluated with regard to its ability to describe the relationship between body weight and age in turkeys and was compared to four standard growth functions: The Gompertz, logistic, Lopez, and Richards. The results of this study show that the new sinusoidal function precisely describes the growth dynamics of turkeys. Fitting the functions to different data profiles nearly always led to the same or less maximized log-likelihood values for the sinusoidal equation, indicating its suitability in describing growth data from turkeys
