    La tecnología no para de evolucionar, algo que no sólo ha cambiado el modo de vida de la sociedad, sino también la forma de diseñar. Gracias a esto ha aparecido un nuevo método de diseño en el que lo más importante ya no es la forma final sino el proceso para llevarlo a cabo. Esta nueva forma de pensar la arquitectura se apoya en unas innovadoras herramientas informáticas que permiten desarrollarla.Gracias a estos nuevos procedimientos y a pesar de que es un campo con un amplio potencial que todavía no se ha explotado por completo, podemos observar que las ventajas y posibilidades son infinitas. Algunas de las más destacables son la optimización de tiempo, la colaboración entre distintas disciplinas y la gestión de datos.Este trabajo pretende investigar y descubrir las potencialidades del método de diseño paramétrico con las que conseguir más con menos. Para ello es necesario conocer los métodos actuales de fabricación digital y las estrategias a desarrollar en el proceso de diseño paramétrico.<br /

    On the Entropy and the Density Matrix of Cosmological Perturbations

    We look at the transition to the semiclassical behaviour and the decoherence process for the inhomogeneous perturbations in the inflationary universe. Two different decoherence mechanisms appear: one dynamical, accompanied with a negligible, if at all, entropy gain, and the other, effectively irreversible dephasing, due to a rapid variation in time of the off-diagonal density matrix elements in the post-inflationary epoch.     The dependence of oxygen and nitrogen abundances on stellar mass from the CALIFA survey

    Context. The study of the integrated properties of star-forming galaxies is central to understand their formation and evolution. Some of these properties are extensive and therefore their analysis require totally covering and spatially resolved observations. Among these properties, metallicity can be defined in spiral discs by means of integral field spectroscopy (IFS) of individual H ii regions. The simultaneous analysis of the abundances of primary elements, as oxygen, and secondary, as nitrogen, also provides clues about the star formation history and the processes that shape the build-up of spiral discs. Aims. Our main aim is to analyse simultaneously O/H and N/O abundance ratios in H ii regions in different radial positions of the discs in a large sample of spiral galaxies to obtain the slopes and the characteristic abundance ratios that can be related to their integrated properties. Methods. We analysed the optical spectra of individual selected H ii regions extracted from a sample of 350 spiral galaxies of the CALIFA survey. We calculated total O/H abundances and, for the first time, N/O ratios using the semi-empirical routine Hii-Chi-mistry, which, according to Pérez-Montero (2014, MNRAS, 441, 2663), is consistent with the direct method and reduces the uncertainty in the O/H derivation using [N ii] lines owing to the dispersion in the O/H-N/O relation. Then we performed linear fittings to the abundances as a function of the de-projected galactocentric distances. Results. The analysis of the radial distribution both for O/H and N/O in the non-interacting galaxies reveals that both average slopes are negative, but a non-negligible fraction of objects have a flat or even a positive gradient (at least 10% for O/H and 4% for N/O). The slopes normalised to the effective radius appear to have a slight dependence on the total stellar mass and the morphological type, as late low-mass objects tend to have flatter slopes. No clear relation is found, however, to explain the presence of inverted gradients in this sample, and there is no dependence between the average slopes and the presence of a bar. The relation between the resulting O/H and N/O linear fittings at the effective radius is much tighter (correlation coefficient ρ = 0.80) than between O/H and N/O slopes (ρ = 0.39) or for O/H and N/O in the individual H ii regions (ρ = 0.37). These O/H and N/O values at the effective radius also correlate very tightly (less than 0.03 dex of dispersion) with total luminosity and stellar mass.     Pesticides in soil, groundwater and food in Latin America as part of one health.

    We here report of a conference about "Pesticides in Soil, Groundwater and Food in Latin America as part of One Health" that took place at the "IV Seminario Internacional de Sanidad Agropecuaria (SISA)" in Varadero, Cuba, 8-12 May 2023. Researchers of Latin America (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico) and Switzerland (workshop initiator) held presentations about occurrence and effects of pesticides on the environment, human health, the replacement of highly hazardous pesticides (HHP) by agroecological alternatives and the agri-food value chain. In a subsequent round table discussion, the presenters identified deficits, needs, interests and opportunities. According to them, the lack of awareness of pesticide use affects the health and safety of workers applying the chemicals. Despite Latin America representing the main agricultural area in the world with a very intense pesticide use, monitoring data of pesticides in soil, surface and groundwaters, food, as well as in humans are missing. Risks of pesticides to humans should be assessed so that authorities can withdraw or limit within "short time" the access to corresponding formulations on the market. Also, communication is not state of the art and should be improved as, e.g. the teaching of workers and farmers, how to correctly use and apply pesticides or the briefing of decision makers. Pollinators suffer from multiple stressors not the least due to pesticides, and alternatives are badly needed. On the technical side, the different analytical methods to determine residues of active ingredients and transformation products in matrices of concern should be harmonized among laboratories.Seven future actions and goals were identified to overcome the above deficits. Next steps after the publishing of this conference report are to harmonize and complete the information status of the presenters by exchanging the results/data already present. Therefore, a platform of interaction to address issues described above and to enhance collaboration shall be created. Samples of different matrices shall be exchanged to harmonize the chemical analysis and establish interlaboratory comparisons. Such activities might be facilitated by joining international associations or organizations, where researchers can offer their expertise, or by forming a new pesticide network for Central and South America that could present tailored projects to national and international organizations and funding agencies

    PARTOGRAMA EN MUJERES MULTÍPARAS CON MANEJO MÉDICO DEL TRABAJO DE PARTO

    Antecedentes. La evaluación gráfica del parto fue descrito originalmente por Friedman, sin embargo, una descripción de la evolución del trabajo de parto con un manejo médico contemporáneo no ha sido completamente evaluado. Objetivo: Analizar el efecto de un manejo médico estandarizado del trabajo de parto, que incluye anestesia regional, rotura artificial de membranas y conducción ocitócica, sobre la fase activa del trabajo de parto en multíparas. Método. Análisis retrospectivo de 130 multíparas en trabajo de parto espontáneo, que ingresaron con 3 a 4 cm de dilatación. Resultados. Se observó una duración de la fase activa del trabajo de parto de aproximadamente 3,5 horas, con una progresión promedio de 1,5 cm/ h, produciéndose la mayor progresión entre los 7 y 9 cm de dilatación con 1,9 cm/h. La segunda fase del trabajo de parto presento una duración promedio de 28 minutos. Conclusiones. Nuestros resultados muestran que el manejo "médico estandarizado" del trabajo de parto no reduce los tiempos de la fase activa ni de la segunda fase en multíparas. Creemos que es necesario implementar estudios randomizados para determinar la influencia de este tipo manejo del trabajo de parto en la incidencia de cesárea

    Determinación de la permitividad y conductividad eléctricas a la frecuencia de microondas de varios tejidos de rata tratadas con cadmio

    and conductivity (s) in several rat tissue, control and treated with cadmio (Cd), applying electromagnetic fields of radiofrequency and to check if these parameters can be used as indicators of cadmium toxicity and presence in the environment in certain organs. There are used two groups of male Wistar rats, a control group and the one treated with cadmium (CdClz), with twelve single intraperitoneal increasing doses from 0,1 to 1 mg Cd/Kg rat/day. After blood extraction under ether anesthesia the animals died and several biochemical and haematological parameteres are analyzed. The dissected organs are: brain cortex, testes, kidney, liver, pancreas, Iungseand muscle, which are submitted to determine the e and o, measuring the reflection and transmission, complex coefficients of these biological samples at the industrial frequency of 2.45 GHz. This frequency is included in the range of microwave frequencies. The reflection and transmission coefficients are measured with a network analyzer. We use a HP HFSS simulator that determines the permittivity of a tissue that would produce the same values for reflection and transmission coefficients obtained experimentally. Results show that in liver and kidney there is a decrease in the e and (J compared to the controls. The changes in the kidney can be explained because the renal cortex is the major target tissue for cadmium toxicity, prqvoking proximal tubular disfunction. In liver, cadmium also accumulates inducing hepatic damage, with an increase of both transaminases in serum and the decrease of the structural integrity of hepatocytes.     Surgical multicenter collaborative studies: ¿What happen in Latin America?

    Antecedentes: GlobalSurg es un grupo internacional de investigadores que tiene como propósito la conducción y la diseminación de robustos estudios colaborativos, internacionales y multicéntricos. Objetivo: Exponer las estrategias necesarias y las barreras encontradas en la conducción de estudios multicéntricos masivos en cirugía. Método: Durante el segundo semestre del año 2020 se llevó a cabo el estudio Surg-Week Prospective International Cohort Study, hasta la fecha el estudio internacional más grande en el campo de la cirugía, con 141,582 pacientes incluidos. Un total de 4975 miniequipos, de uno a cinco integrantes, recopilaron datos de 116 países de todos los continentes. Resultados: La creación de un sitio web oficial del estudio, reportes con información relevante vía e-mail o grupos vía WhatsApp, conformación de un comité de diseminación del protocolo, dictado de webinars sobre publicaciones recientes del equipo, designación de líderes nacionales e internacionales, y la divulgación por medio de sociedades, fueron las estrategias utilizadas para el desarrollo de la investigación. Sin embargo, las barreras detectadas para llevar a cabo el estudio multicéntrico fueron variadas. Conclusiones: Los trabajos colaborativos permiten establecer redes entre diferentes profesionales con el fin de mejorar la calidad de la gestión, las políticas sanitarias y la atención a los pacientes en tiempos de constante cambio.Background: GlobalSurg is an international group of researchers whose purpose is to conduct and disseminate robust collaborative, international and multicenter studies. Objective: To expose the necessary strategies and the barriers crossed in conducting massive multicenter studies in surgery. Method: During the second semester of 2020, the study Surg-Week Prospective International Cohort Study was carried out. Surg-Week has been the largest international study in the field of surgery to date, with 141,582 patients included. A total of 4975 mini-teams, of between 1 and 5 members, collected data from 116 countries on all continents. Results: The creation of an official website for the study, reports with relevant information via email or groups via WhatsApp, formation of a Dissemination Committee of the protocol, delivery of webinars on recent team publications, appointment of leaders at the national and international level, and outreach through partnerships, were the strategies used for the development of the research. However, the barriers turned out to involve different aspects. Conclusions: Collaborative work allows establishing networks between different professionals with the goal of improving the quality of management, health policies and care of our patients in a timely manner of constant change

    Urinary Aminopeptidase Activities as Early and Predictive Biomarkers of Renal Dysfunction in Cisplatin-Treated Rats

    This study analyzes the fluorimetric determination of alanyl- (Ala), glutamyl- (Glu), leucyl-cystinyl- (Cys) and aspartyl-aminopeptidase (AspAp) urinary enzymatic activities as early and predictive biomarkers of renal dysfunction in cisplatin-treated rats. Male Wistar rats (n = 8 each group) received a single subcutaneous injection of either saline or cisplatin 3.5 or 7 mg/kg, and urine samples were taken at 0, 1, 2, 3 and 14 days after treatment. In urine samples we determined Ala, Glu, Cys and AspAp activities, proteinuria, N-acetyl-β-D-glucosaminidase (NAG), albumin, and neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL). Plasma creatinine, creatinine clearance and renal morphological variables were measured at the end of the experiment. CysAp, NAG and albumin were increased 48 hours after treatment in the cisplatin 3.5 mg/kg treated group. At 24 hours, all urinary aminopeptidase activities and albuminuria were significantly increased in the cisplatin 7 mg/kg treated group. Aminopeptidase urinary activities correlated (p0.259) with plasma creatinine, creatinine clearance and/or kidney weight/body weight ratio at the end of the experiment and they could be considered as predictive biomarkers of renal injury severity. ROC-AUC analysis was made to study their sensitivity and specificity to distinguish between treated and untreated rats at day 1. All aminopeptidase activities showed an AUC>0.633. We conclude that Ala, Cys, Glu and AspAp enzymatic activities are early and predictive urinary biomarkers of the renal dysfunction induced by cisplatin.
