Implementing VR Technology in POLIMAS Website

    Get PDF
Nowadays the technology of Virtual Reality (VR) has been developed for many purposes and has expanded into many types for of field. One of the fields in virtual Reality is web page. Virtual Reality techology in web page enables users to immerse in the real world using 3-D images. This study proposed to integrate the Virtual Reality technology with the POLIMAS website. Methodology used to built the webpage is Waterfall methodology and Rapid Software Prototyping Methodology technique is used to develop the prototype. During the development some problems and limitation have been encountered. The problems arise have been discussed and solved in order to make the prototype more efficient. The webpage enhanced the services/facilities POLIMAS had offered to their students and to the outsiders. In this project, three virtual tour and six panoramic views have been created. This project is hoped to give benefits to POLIMAS staffs, students and administration staffs to assist their daily activities and also hope that it will give more benefits to the outsiders during their visit to POLIMAS

A Survey and Analysis of Cooperative Multi-Agent Robot Systems: Challenges and Directions

    Get PDF
Research in the area of cooperative multi-agent robot systems has received wide attention among researchers in recent years. The main concern is to find the effective coordination among autonomous agents to perform the task in order to achieve a high quality of overall performance. Therefore, this paper reviewed various selected literatures primarily from recent conference proceedings and journals related to cooperation and coordination of multi-agent robot systems (MARS). The problems, issues, and directions of MARS research have been investigated in the literature reviews. Three main elements of MARS which are the type of agents, control architectures, and communications were discussed thoroughly in the beginning of this paper. A series of problems together with the issues were analyzed and reviewed, which included centralized and decentralized control, consensus, containment, formation, task allocation, intelligences, optimization and communications of multi-agent robots. Since the research in the field of multi-agent robot research is expanding, some issues and future challenges in MARS are recalled, discussed and clarified with future directions. Finally, the paper is concluded with some recommendations with respect to multi-agent systems

"Cost factors influencing in sending workers abroad", investigation on XYRATEX (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. / Shah Rizan Sariff

XYRATEX is a leading provider of enterprise class data storage subsystems and network technology. As an equipment provider, moving the employee around the globe for product installation is the most crucial process in the manufacturing pipeline. The product delivery commitment date is tight up with the installation group travel arrangement Ideally the product and the people should arrive at the location on the same time. This activity has become very subjective to the certain XYRATEX customer countries that will lead to the increasing in costs towards the workers of XYRATEX who have been doing an overseas assignment in recent years especially after the September 11 event and during the SARS outbreak. Base on this reason, this research had been done to study "the cost factors influencing in sending workers abroad", investigation on XYRATEX (MALAYSIA) SON. BHO. hopefully, the findings of this research can give some benefits to the company. The objective of this research study is to analyze the significant of relationship between the logistic, accommodations, and administration cost toward the number of workers sending abroad. This write up will elaborate the costs that impacts to XYRATEX workers who had been sent to support their customers in various countries towards the globalization issues, which lead to the increasing in the costs in sending workers abroad that organization should consider. This study will provide and contribute to existing literatures; and it is also will provide some useful information and better understanding about formulating the human resources strategies that are cost effective, comply with the regulas and meet the customer expectation in a long run. Hopefully, the findings of this research can give some benefits to the company

Poly(vinyl chloride) membrane electrodes that responded selectively towards the antimalarial drug chloroquine are described. The electrodes were based on the use of the lipophilic potassium tetrakis(4-chlorophenyl)borate as ionexchanger and bis(2-ethylhexyl)adipate (BEHA), or trioctylphosphate (TOP) or dioctylphenylphosphonate (DOPP) as plasticizing solvent mediator

    Solar powered warning street lamp

    Get PDF
This project focuses on warning street lamp. Warning street lamp is a device with flashing lamp and it will be place at certain road. The function of the warning lamp is to remind people about there are hazard at the road such as an emergency happen. Besides, it is can be used at the construction road. This project is better because it uses the solar energy. This lamp does not need the electrical power and it can be placed at rural area that does not have electricity supply. This lamp have three different functions which are a blinking lamp in a circle shape, a warning lamp in right arrow shape and a warning lamp in left arrow shape. Those three warning lamp can be changed manually by pressing the push button at the control circuit. The right and left shape warning lamp is important because of it can show the road ahead which is to turn right or left especially when driving at night. Hope that this project can reduce the accident at the road

Target Strength Identification Using Commercial Echo Sounder

    Get PDF
This research proposes the acoustic measurement by using commercial echo sounder JMCV1082 model to detect the object underwater. The acoustic scattering is depends on shape, size, and material properties An envelope echo signal produced using 50 IU-Iz and 200 KHz echo sounder receiver. Various spheres and cylinder are used in this experiment. Cylinder is used for detection of diver underwater. The transducer was positioned about 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 meter from the target (sphere and air-filled). The commercial echo sounder was modified to obtain the echo/output signal from transducer and transmit the signal through high speed analog input USB to be record and analyze using a computer or laptop. MATLAB software was used to analyze the output/echo signal of the commercial echo sounder and the echo observation is in time and frequency domain. The modification of signal output presentation is needed for target strength identification. The target strength of object is depends on size of the object. The bigger size of object will have bigger target strength value. Although the structure signal without any object are different compare to the signal from the object, the reflected signal from the tank floor increase linearly with the object size

The main purpose of the study was to identify the relationship between Human Resource Management functions and employee’s tendency of turnover in an organization at Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn. Bhd. (PTP). A questionnaire was administered to 103 PTP employees from non-managerial to managerial employers from variety of departments in PTP.The results from the findings shows that the 6 functions of Human Resource Management like talent acquisition, corporate culture, motivation, training and career development, performance management and reward and compensation itself have negative relationship with employee’s tendency of turnover whereby motivation, performance management and reward and compensation are significant. The result also shows that the correlation level between both variables were very low. The multiple regression analysis also shows that, the main factor that contributes to tendency of turnover is reward and compensation. Therefore, the management of Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn. Bhd., should review its reward and compensation strategy in order to retain its talent and therefore could reduce employee’s turnover. By having talented employees who would want to stay long with the organization; it could support PTP in achieving its vision "To be the Preferred Port of Choice in South East Asia"
