    Spectrophotometric Determination of Bismuth(III) with Arsenazo(III) Reagent in Water samples and Veterinary Preparation

    A simple , sensitive and accurate spectrophotometric method for the trace determination of bismuth (III) has been developed .This method is based on the reaction of bismuth (III) with arsenazo(III) in acid solution (pH=1.9) to form a blue water soluble complex which exhibits maximum absorption at 612nm .Beer's law is obeyed over the concentration range of 2-85 ?g bismuth (III) in a final volume of 20 mL( i.e. 0.1 – 4.25?g.mL-1) with a correlation coefficient of (0.9981) and molar absorptivity 1.9×104 L.mol-1.cm-1 . The limit of detection (LOD) and the limit of quantification (LOQ) are 0.0633 and 0.0847 ?g.mL-1 , respectively . Under optimum conditions,the stoichiometry of the reaction between bismuth (III) and arsenazo(III) reagent was found to be 1:2. The recoveries were obtained in the range of 98.9 - 100.0% and a relative standard deviation of ±0.59 to ±2.73% depending on the concentration level of bismuth. The effect of interferences by a number of common cations and anions in the presence of composite mixture has been studied .The proposed method has been applied successfully for determination of bismuth in water samples and veterinary preparation

    Abstrac: Indonesia not only prioritizes IQ but EQ is also a priority in building a virtuous society. EQ can be achieved one of them with moral education whose domain touches on the morals of learners. One way in shaping the morals of learners is through disciplined moral education. Discipline moral education itself acts as the first gateway in the entry of moral education among learners because this discipline is a form of obedience as well as respect for the rules and advice of teachers in Madrasah. The fruit of disciplined education is the growing attitude of responsibility to students. The purpose of this study is 3, namely: (1) Knowing from disciplined education, (2) Knowing the role of disciplined education in improving attitudes of responsibility, (3) Knowing supporting actors and inhibiting disciplined moral education in improving attitudes of responsibility. This type of research uses case studies . This research is included in  qualitative research with a background in Madrasah Aliyah Salafiyah Syafi’iyah Tebuireng Jombang.  This study analyzed several things related to the Role of Disciplined Moral Education in Improving Student Attitudes of Responsibility. The data obtained from this study is the result of observations, interviews and documentation that are then analyzed and drawn conclusions. Based on the research, it was obtained that disciplined moral education uses teaching methods, transparency and supervision. Disciplined education plays a role in improving student responsibility attitudes. As for the supporting factors and obstacles there are internal and external.  bstrak: Pemerintah Indonesia tidak hanya mengutamakan IQ saja melainkan EQ juga menjadi prioritas dalam membangun masyarakat yang berbudi luhur khususnya bagi para peserta didik. EQ tersebut bisa tercapai salah satunya dengan pendidikan akhlak yang ranahnya menyentuh pada akhlak siswa. Salah satu cara dalam membentuk akhlak siswa adalah melalui pendidikan akhlak disiplin. Pendidikan akhlak disiplin sendiri berperan  sebagai gerbang pertama dalam masuknya pendidikan akhlak di kalangan siswa dikarenakan disiplin ini adalah wujud daripada ketaatan sekaligus penghormatan terhadap peraturan dan nasehat guru di lingkungan sekolah atau madrasah. Buah dari pendidikan  disiplin adalah tumbuhnya sikap tanggung jawab pada siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini ada 3, yakni : (1) Mengetahui dari pendidikan disiplin,(2) Mengetahui peran pendidikan disiplin dalam meningkatkan sikap tanggung jawab,(3) Mengetahui aktor pendukung dan penghambat pendidikan disiplin dalam meningkatkan sikap tanggung jawab. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan studi kasus, yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui sesuatu secara mendalam. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kualitatif dalam konteks Madrasah Aliyah Salafiyah Syafi'iyah Tebuireng Jombang. Penelitian ini menganalisis beberapa hal yang berkaitan dengan peran pendidikan akhlak disiplin dalam meningkatkan sikap siswa terhadap tanggung jawab. Data yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini merupakan hasil observasi, wawancara, dan rekaman, yang kemudian dianalisis dan dirangkum. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa pendidikan kedisiplinan mengadopsi metode pengajaran, metode model dan metode pendampingan. Pendidikan disiplin berperan dalam meningkatkan rasa tanggung jawab siswa, yang diwujudkan dalam kemampuan siswa untuk mematuhi aturan dan peraturan madrasah.     Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) ini dilaksanakan di kelas V SDN Pakanangi dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 21 orang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA pada materi berbagai peristiwa alamdi kelas V SDN Pakanangi melalui model pembelajaran quantum teaching, yang dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus. Data yang diambil dari penelitian ini adalah data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari hasil observasi aktivitas siswa dan aktivitas guru pada saat proses belajar mengajar berlangsung. Sedangkan data kuantitatif diperoleh dari hasil belajar siswa pada setiap akhir tindakan. Hasil analisis data kualitatif dari lembar observasi siswa pada siklus I menyatakan kurang dan siklus II sangat baik serta hasil observasi aktivitas guru pada siklus I menyatakan baik dan siklus II sangat baik. Selanjutnya hasil analisa data kuantitatif hasil tes tindakan siklus I diperoleh siswa yang tuntas 12 orang dari 21 orang siswa dengan persentase daya serap klasikal sebesar 60,31% dan ketuntasan belajar klasikal sebesar 57,14%. Pada siklus II hasil tes akhir tindakan mengalami peningkatan, siswa yang tuntas menjadi 18 orang dari 21 orang siswa dengan persentase daya serap klasikal sebesar 86,35% dan ketuntasan belajar klasikal sebesar 85,71%. Dari hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hasil yang diperoleh dari siklus I dan II baik hasil observasi aktivitas siswa dan aktivitas guru maupun hasil tes akhir tindakan mengalami peningkatan

    Pathways to antibiotics in Bangladesh: a qualitative study investigating how and when households access medicine including antibiotics for humans or animals when they are ill

    Background To understand how to reduce antibiotic use, greater knowledge is needed about the complexities of access in countries with loose regulation or enforcement. This study aimed to explore how households in Bangladesh were accessing antimicrobials for themselves and their domestic animals. Methods In-depth interviews were conducted with 48 households in one urban and one rural area. Households were purposively sampled from two lower income strata, prioritising those with under 5-year olds, older adults, household animals and minority groups. Households where someone was currently ill with a suspected infection (13 households) were invited for a follow-up interview. Framework analysis was used to explore access to healthcare and medicines. Findings People accessed medicines for themselves through five pathways: drugs shops, private clinics, government/charitable hospitals, community/family planning clinics, and specialised/private hospitals. Drug shops provided direct access to medicines for common, less serious and acute illnesses. For persistent or serious illnesses, the healthcare pathway may include contacts with several of these settings, but often relied on medicines provided by drug shops. In the 13 households with an unwell family member, most received at least one course of antibiotics for this illness. Multiple and incomplete dosing were common even when prescribed by a qualified doctor. Antibiotics were identified by their high cost compared to other medicines. Cost was a reported barrier to purchasing full courses of antibiotics. Few households in the urban area kept household animals. In this rural area, government animal health workers provided most care for large household animals (cows), but drug shops were also important. Conclusions In Bangladesh, unregulated drug shops provide an essential route to medicines including those prescribed in the formal sector. Wherever licensed suppliers are scarce and expensive, regulations which prohibit this supply risk removing access entirely for many people

    A New Block S-Random Interleaver for Shorter Length Frames for Turbo Codes

    In this paper, we have proposed a new design of interleaver based on S-random and block interleaver. The characteristics of both block and S-random interleaver are used by this proposed interleaver. There is a large influence of free distance in turbo codes due to interleaving as it lowers the error floor. The free distance of turbo codes can be increased by designing interleaver with high spread. In this case, the overall spreading factor is increased significantly for smaller length frames also. The simulations results are compared with full S-random interleavers. The bit error rate performance of proposed interleaver for Turbo codes is much better than full s-random interleaver at the cost of small delay

    Homogeneous Photocatalytic Degradation of Acid Alizarin Black Using Hydrogen Peroxide

    Photocatalytic degradation of acid alizarin black (AAB) dye (C.I. 21725) in aqueous solution was investigated using UV light in the presence of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) as a catalyst at different operating conditions. The operating conditions were concentration of catalyst dosage (0.1, 0.2 and 0.3 mL of 30 % H2O2), initial concentration of AAB dye (100, 150 and 200 mg/L) and pH (3.3, 6.84 and 10.8). It was found that the increasing of catalyst concentration enhanced the dye decolourisation. Hydrogen peroxide exerted positive effects on the AAB removal whilst the initial concentration of AAB negatively affected its removal. It was also found that the removal efficiency of AAB increased with the pH value close to neutral (pH 7), while a reversed trend was observed at acidic and basic medium

    Implementation of a Research Plan Management System for Research Center of TIU University

    Mobile apps are always evolving to make our lives simpler. This research study focuses on developing a cross-platform mobile application for TIU’s research center’s Research Plan Management System (RPMS). TIU currently does not have a mobile application that allows academics to submit their annual research plans and proposals online rather than filling out paper or electronic forms. This study was done at TIU’s research center for an experimental object, and it used Flutter as a development platform, Firebase as a backend database, and Dart as a programming language to create a mobile app that serves as a research management system for the institution. It enables related departments to track the research publication process until it reaches the final stage, and staff may electronically submit their research plans and acquire the appropriate permissions, as well as allowing the Research Center and departments to view real staff progress. According to our study survey, more than 70% of TIU staff believe that using a mobile application to submit and follow-up with the research plan is better than the traditional paper-based system

    A Prototype Mobile Application for Clinic Appointment Reminder and Scheduling System in Erbil City

    In healthcare, the goal of clinics and hospitals is to serve the patient in a skillful way, due to the sensitivity of patients and the high competitiveness among healthcare service providers. Across many countries systems with cutting-edge solutions have been introduced in order to enhance healthcare services throughout last years. However, in Iraq and Kurdistan region still there is a lack for such systems and particularly for clinics. Patients need to go through a time-consuming process which might require a considerable effort especially for the time of making appointment to the consultation hour. Moreover, the current available appointment systems come up with problems such as missing appointments by the patients due to the long queues given by clinics. By implementing technological solutions it’s possible to obtain benefits such as eliminating waiting lists, enhancing patient’s timely access to services and reducing no show problem. Therefore, we suggest creating a mobile application system to enhance the process of booking appointments at clinics. Thus, providing a mobile application tailored to the clinic’s needs is the main goals of this paper. Our approach is to design a prototype mobile system to facilitate the whole appointment process from the beginning to the end. The system will cover both client and clinics side. In this paper, we will propose a mobile system to improve appointment scheduling system for clinics. The findings show that 91 % of patients whom participated in the study were ready to use any sort of online appointment systems to book their next consultation hour

    Growth Response, Water Relations and K/Na Ratio in Wheat Under Sodium and Calcium Interactions

    A study was conducted in the glass house to observe the role of K/Na ratio and moisture contents on the growth of wheat ( Triticum aestivum L .cv. Lu-26) under NaCl stress. The plants were grown under hydroponic conditions at two salinity levels of 0 and 50 mM as NaCl. Calcium as CaSO4. 2H2O was applied at 3 and 6 mM to the pots of salinity. The plants were harvested after 30 days of growth. The treatments showed a highly significant (p< 0.01) effect on the growth and ionic relations. Fresh weight of shoot and root increased by 44 and 41 % respectively, with increased application of CaSO4 from 3 to 6 mM in the saline medium. Dry mass was increased by 46% at 50 mM of NaCl with the application of 6 mM of CaSO4.2H2O. Relative water content in the root decreased with the application of CaSO4.2H2O in saline treatment as compared to non-saline treatment. The increased K/Na ratio had a pronounced effect on the increase of dry mass of shoot by 72% at 6 mM than 3 mM of CaSO4.2H2O application in the saline medium
