Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) approach to improve Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) in Robert Bosch Automotive Steering Sdn. Bhd
The manufacturing industries especially in an automotive manufacturing industry has gone
through significant changes in last decade where the competition has increased dramatically.
So, good maintenance is fundamental for productive manufacturing system by implementing
Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) as an alternative approach for the equipment maintenance
in order to achieve zero breakdowns and zero defect. By TPM approach, it able to keep the
current plant and equipment at its higher productive level through cooperation of all areas of
organization. In order to ensure the effectiveness of the TPM implementation, the overall
equipment effectiveness is a core element as a tool to measure as well as to improve the
productivity of manufacturing organization. The aim of this report is to study an approach of
Total Production Maintenance by implementing TPM 4 Pillar Model to improve Overall
Equipment Efficiency (OEE) in Robert Bosch Automotive Steering Sdn. Bhd. In this study one
machine has been selected as a case study to identify and analyse the implementation of TPM
using TPM 4 Pillars Model to ensure that machine always in optimum condition and ready for
operation. This study will involve in identification of main problem that need to be eliminated,
effectiveness of implementation of autonomous maintenance and planned maintenance to
reduce unplanned breakdown as well as seek any opportunities of improvement of that machine
and targeting to exceed the target set of OEE which is 97.5%. 3 months breakdown and OEE
data have been collected for further analysis and come up with the summary of finding to ensure
that implementation of TPM 4 Pillars Model is success for this plant. (Abstract by author
Mnltitask Anti-Dust Cleaner
This report basically discusses the progress research done and basic understanding
of the chosen topic, which is Multitask Anti-Dust Cleaner. The objective of this
project is to introduce a new method in cleaning the SMT facilities especially in
electronic production line. Nowadays, most of the electronic company use an air gun
to blow the dust from the SMT devices. But, this new method, it use a concept of
suctions technique rather than blowing method. The challenge of this project is to
determine the suitable material to build up the prototype and the way to testing the
prototype. The testing should be done in order to determine the suitable materials
that need to use and the functionality of the prototype.
This report also contains the materials selection for this project and some
materials analysis. The analysis mostly bases on the characteristics of the material
and its behavior. The analysis based on the literature review of this project.
The aim of this project is to introduce a new cleaning method and increase worker
efficiency and increase the productivity. Other than that, by done this project, the
dust problem in production area can be reduce. When the project was done,
hopefully the aim can be achieved

Crystal structure of bromidobis(naphthalen- 1-yl)antimony(III)
In the title compound, [SbBr(C10H7)2], the SbIII atom has a
distorted trigonal–pyramidal coordination geometry and the
planes of the two naphthalene ring systems make a dihedral
angle of 80.26 (18). An intramolecular C—H Br hydrogen
bond forms an S(5) ring motif. In the crystal, weak C—H Br
interactions link the molecules into helical chains along the baxis
direction
Landslide susceptibility mapping: effect of spatial resolution towards the prediction of landslide prone area in a tropical catchment.
Landslide has become a common problem especially in tropical countries such as in Malaysia. This study was carried out in Fraser Hill Catchment using a GIS based deterministic slope stability analysis model, that combine infinite slope stability and steady state hydrology assumptions to quantify the stability called SINMAP. The model requires some inputs. Historical landslide inventory for the catchment were obtained from interpretation of multispectral SPOT 5 image and Global Positioning Survey (GPS) survey. Topographic maps at scale of 1:50,000 were used to construct Digital Elevation Model (DEM). Soil strength parameters and hydrologic parameters were gathered from in situ test as well as previous records. The purposes of this study were to map the landslide susceptibility of Fraser Hill Catchment and to test the usage of different DEM spatial resolution towards the accuracy of the model. Landslide susceptibility map for the study area was produced as the output of this model. The result will be compared with the actual location of slope failure that occur within the catchment to assess the model performance. Results showed that, for this catchment, SINMAP gives good results in predicting the landslide with 68% of the current landslide inventory fall within unstable class as their calculation of Stability Index (SI) are less than 1. Results from the spatial resolution analysis showed that 20 and 30 meter resolution gave optimum result compared to others
Sequential Synergy of Alkaline Peroxide Treatment and Refining in Co-generating Filler for Pulp Web Augmentation
Desired pulp-based product properties can be achieved by addition of filler in the pulp network. In exploring this, fines co-generated upon refining the alkaline peroxide treated oil palm empty fruit bunches (EFB) were collected based on their passage and retention capacities when subjected to varying mesh-sizes stainless-steel square mesh wires. Pulp network incorporating fines produced from the synergy of low alkaline peroxide (AP) and low energy refining effects shows that blending 12% of the 400-mesh fines (P300/R400) with the normal 200-mesh pulp fraction enhanced paper tensile strength by 100% due to their favourable dimensions. This defines the usefulness of fibrillar particles whose cell wall collapsibility increases the web density by increasing bonding ability and thus, strength of pulp-based products. Fines produced from more extreme synergy between alkaline peroxide and degree of refining, exhibit unique submicron fibrils and ‘nano-CGF’ also responsible for further augmentation of EFB alkaline peroxide pulp network. Whether from the simple (low-AP and low energy refining) or the extreme synergy of AP and refining, the co-generated fines are apparently suitable materials for use as natural filler for augmentation of pulp network. Particularly for the simple AP and refining synergy, the introduced recovery and utilization of the co-generated filler (CGF) was found to reduce 74% turbidity and this improvement will help reduce the complexity of whitewater generation in the pulping system
An Investigation of Microwave Tomography Technique to Detect Brain Tumour Through Cross-Section Imaging at Frequency 0.5 GHz to 1.5 GHz
The growing significance of cancerous tissue including brain tumour requires a fast and efficient technology detection. The most current technologies being applied for brain imaging system are Computed Tomography (CT) scan and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). Whilst these two detection applications are very well established, both systems are expensive, time and space consuming, and raise safety issues to patients due to the radiation and strong magnetic effects. This research aims to assess the feasibility and potential performance of microwave tomography (MWT) for brain imaging with a particular focus on brain tumour detection. The study was conducted using Finite Element Model software, COMSOL Multiphysics to develop a 2D modelling of an antenna array and measure the scattered electric field by solving forward problem. MATLAB software will be used as an inverse problem solver to reconstruct 2D images of the tumour by using Linear Back Projection (LBP) algorithm
